Griffin Reveal Case Review / First Impression iPhone 3G

I HATED this case. I took it off once and the whole case bent up. I switched to the incase slider.

great case in my opinion. GET BLACK though! I have a white 3gs but chose black and it looks fine. DO NOT GET WHITE because it'll turn blue due to denim jeans and you'll end up having denim stains all over the edges of your case. This happened to my friend so I chose black and, obviously, black stays black haha. I'm sure denim stains will happen to all other colors too so yea.

Hello, I had the speck see thru case without any good experience: the rubber sides of it started to come off everytime I took it off, until in one of those it literally broke from the middle. Also annoying, it got scratched from the first time I put it in my pocket and after a few weeks looked very worn. Does anybody have any experience with the Griffin Reveal? Will it be a similar experience? thanks!

I dont understand one thing: are the sides (which contacts your fingers) from rubber, because I would hate it if it would be hardplastic for the grip

the original griffin reveal is discotinued, they rcently fine tuned the design and added colours, i have the white one, much better case

timthedj have you experienced any scratching or pitting as a result of using this case? People on the web are reporting in forums that this case scratches the iphone at the top and bottom after about two weeks of use. Thanks.

I got a lot of pitting on the back and scratches on the bezel. This case is the worst I've ever had. It looks really good and I was excited to get it but 2 weeks after having it, my phone looked horrible. Proof that the case is scratching the phone: the bottom, uncovered part of the bezel is scratch free while the top bezel is scuffed and scratched. This case is not worth it at all.

well ur suppose to whipe the phone and the case down so no dusst is on it then put it in, button side first.

plus ur not suppose to take it in and out all the time

i have the white griffin reveal for my white 3gs, its perfect and no problems.

i liek the leather one cuse the chrome ad leather loooks super nice

but i like thisone due to, its like 10 dollars cheaper, it shows offthe back of ur iphone, and covers the buttons very well.

DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS GARBAGE CASE!!

It scratched the hell out of my brand new iPhone 3GS. I was diligent about removing and cleaning it every 1-2 days with a microfiber cloth and it still made DEEP gouges on the back of my iPhone because the plastic on the TOUCHES the iPhone and creates scratches. Perhaps this reviewer likes it because he has an invisible shield to protect his phone but a naked phone will get DESTROYED. Griffin offered no help to me- claimed that debris did it. Horrible case

There belt clip this comes with. However, look for a bigger pouch, meaning on that would hold a phone plus case on it. I know Switch easy makes one.

What kind of screenprotector are you using? It looks realy realy smooth unlike the other screen protectors I've seen so far. I asume it's just the thin plastic one?

I was using the PDO Screen protector. It's like the Zagg front. But now I'm using the screen protector that came with the Griffin Reveal Case. I like the griffin one a lot better. It's thinner, and doesn't have the orange peel effect.

personaly, i don't like the griffin protector, when i took it off after about a month, it left half the screen on with a sticky residue on it.

no white color. you can't really protect the bottom bezel. I havent had hands on experience with the incase one, but based on the videos they're similar. The Incase protects the bottom bezel, this one doesn't. BUT the frame case also is way more tackier as its rubber sides aren't rounded off by any sort of plastic, like the reveal case. which was the major winner for me, because I take my phone in and out of my pockets on the regular.

the feather is good for feeling like nothing is there. Its super thin. This one is thin, not nearly as the feather, but adds more protection. So I like this case (reveal) more, for that reason.

Yep. I have a DLO protective shield on it, same as the zagg. That's what gave it the water mark effect.

i would expect it looking similar... but white. I think it would be a nice contrast of the black rubber tops and sides, against the white iphone. Kinda different

You're welcome. I've tested the reveal case with the 3G dock and it does not fit. However it does fit on the universal dock.

Great video. I think you're probably the first impression of this case on the web. I've been looking for a case the past few days for the 3GS, and this looks like a really good choice.

Now I can eliminate the frame case since this looks so much better.

Thanks! And good call. This case is. Nice. I like it better than the speck because of it's sleek design. The candy shell has solid hybrid protection but the port cut outs are oversized and the case is a little too bulky for my tastes.

I just ordered a 32GB iPhone 3GS, and I am in the market for a case. I used my First Gen iPhone 4GB with no case for two years, and it certainly is showing a lot of wear.... I think I will order the Griffin Reveal for my new baby... thanks, bud!
