you can find herbs or buy them from a jewel guy i have the game a beated it and i love it when i played it i hated him took 2 hours and3 hours of being tick off and i still think he is hard unless you have defense big attack power and heath you get those but kill all emenys in the room it always has a pattern life strh defense

I had the same damn issue when I played this. Could not beat Castoth to save my life. I finally got pissed one thanksgiving and kicked his ass. To this day though, he was the hardest boss for me. Even the Vampires and Mummy Queen were a piece of cake.

Save all but one of your herbs until the final dungeon (Tower of Babel.) Use the other herb on the most difficult boss, which most people agree are the Vampires (in Mu.) Personally, I disagree (I think Castoth is harder with the piddly amount of HP you have, so nchan was right to use a herb here.) Make sure you use your herb before the Pyramid, because otherwise you will have to drop one due to limited inventory space. With this exception, pretend you don't have any herbs.

How the fuck are you only losing 1 heart everytime you're hit? Im trying like crazy to beat this guy but I lose like three hearts everytime I'm hit. Plus I got through like 3 herbs. WTF!?

Make sure to kill EVERYTHING on EVERY screen and you get bonus orbs that boost Health, Defense, and Attack. These stack like mad so go back and make sure they are dealt with.

@StanleySweet14 Good chance you may not have been clearing rooms of monsters. Every time you clear a room you get a stat bonus. Increase to HP, Strength, or Defense. So... recommend you start killing everything in sight.

@Aeonknight You are so right. There is a reason you need to kill all the monster in the game. It's so you can get your power-ups, to get stronger. And should you ever get to Mt. Kress, I don't care how confusing the area is, KILL EVERYTHING!! That way you are ready for Solid Arm and Dark Gaia.

@StanleySweet14 You probably left some enemies alive and thus didn't get the defense bonus you get for clearing certain rooms. Getting 5 gems also nets you another. BTW, if you used 3 herbs on him you're screwed and need to start a new game. You won't beat the boss rush at the end of the game without all the herbs you can get. Bottom line - resort to resetting before you use a herb.

I completed this using an emulatot on my laptop I cheated to complete this game its was still pretty hard evan with cheats but i just wanted to get through as fast as i could becuase newst to always get stuck on the vamp somehow i managed to beat them with just young will.

Sadly, you can't get any more. Herbs are at set places in this game, so you need to be careful with this boss. If you are using freedan, you can kill him quickly, and stand by the bottom corners to avoid getting hit by his lasers. Other than that, you'll need to practice. There are much more annoying bosses in the game!

its ok, ive killed it now, the next bit when your on the boat is one of the best moments in any video game! you wake up and everyone is dead, then you spend the next month on a small raft with kara the princess, it was amazing

I beat this guy (and all the others) with Will while taking no damage. Difficulty (in my opinion) as follows:

1. Solid Arm (Jeweler Gem)

2. Castoth

3. Vampires

4. Mummy Queen

5. Megapede

6. Viper

And though I didn't get to him yet, I have to agree with your number one boss. I had a hell of a hard time beating Solid Arm in "Soul Blazer", and what's worse, you fight him as Will! Even with the slide technique I've seen used, it's still bloody annoying.

So you defeated dark gaia with will by cheating basicly, im still waiting to see some videos of these boss fights.

The cheat is as follows. Go into zsnes and type in the code 7E0AD4 followed by 00 to always be Will, 01 to always be Freedan, or 02 to always be Shadow. If you use value 03 you will be Shadow but appear blue and red and look glitchy. Any higher value and the game freezes. So you just turn on the Will code when you fly in space before you land on the comet.
