Three easy solutions to the nightmare scenario shown here. Separate at junctions & give one lane over to cyclists. Invest at least as much in public transport infrastructure as in roads. Tax private motorists at a more reasonable rate, ending current subsides.

Why are the lanes marked at all? There's no approach behavior at all, either! The approach traffic to Guangdong capitals and Beijing is more fun, I think; though what happens when someone's load collapses or a muffler drops has some new rules...as always.

@PlebScrubber many problems would be solved like that. That is definitely the big problem is that the traffic that is turning across a lane doesn't have its own signal.
