This is so sad. Before, it was let us kill the Jews, Wiccans, non-Christians, women, the colonized, and now it is let's kill the middle eastern people. Mankind just won't stop killing. It's so sad that most of the killings have been justified on the basis of religion. Religion does not preach all that crap. It's just humans manipulating religion to such sickness. The crusades by both Christians and Muslims were disgusting. All this is sick.
Thank you so much for adding this! This is amazing and I love watching this documentary! Especially the summer solstice dance and chant! Thanks! Blessed Be! )O(

surely if you achieve a certain altered state by meditative practices or by imbibing a naturally occuring substance, or even a modern man made chemical, it dosnt matter about how you got there, but that you did. it cant be less valid to reach a certain altered spiritual state through drugs as via a more typical mystical technique. i'm not saying fact, i'm saying this is how i see it with a glance, if you can show me i am wrong in a logical way then i will accept, but want to know y right/wrong
The fact is; we will never know how many innocents were murdered because of 1 verse from the "Holy" Bible.
(Exodus 22:18) I think the actual number is probably in the middle somewhere. The Inquisitions kept meticulous records but the Crusaders did not.
We will never know. What we do know is thousands maybe millions of women, children (and men) were tortured and murdered in the most horrific ways because of a victimless crime.
For the Witch Trials, 9 million is highly in doubt, the most liberal estimates by most historians fall far short of it. However if you count the pagans killed as villages were put to the torch and wars were waged against "Heathen Barbarians", all of the people (MEN as well as Women) that when given a choice between Christ or Death proudly chose to make a stand, the number drastically skyrockets.
Many Christians have a vested interest in minimizing the victims, or justifying the atrocities.
This a good Vid, however that 9 million women killed has been disproved. The figure is more like 50,000-100.000 HUMANS. Men were also killed, though less than women.Maybe 70-80% of victims were female. These figures are for the period from 1400-1700. Catholic Inquistiton burned witches, (Jews also) Protestants hung witches.
Acutally the catholics and protestants were equally fervent in there burning of witches. Especially in Calvin's Geneva and the Protestant German states.
For some reason there has been a rash of self-proclaimed Christian men commenting here lately in the most sexist terms possible, all of which I've moderated out, but whatever the reason for this influx (a link perhaps?), allow me to say: Go away and stop posting your ignorant sexist remarks. They will never see the light of day. I am the only person who sees them, and I'm sick of them. You are wasting your sexist time. Why not go help the sick or poor or something?
It's totally annoying whenselfrighteous people insist on preaching their point of view, even when they have been repeatedly told -no thnx- ... and yet they scream that ALL other religions are a threat to the truth.. Guess there's no cure for some mental illnesses, and that's probably why we let them roam the streets freely..
How can anyone claim to know the truth for ALL other entities, living or not..
Nothing against christians, but I really dislike the maniac preacher types.. severely.
@DMSelena THANK YOU for posting this! I am raising six daughters ...... I want them to know the truth about US... about women... about what we are capable of and what we were and can be again.
It is TIME. They cannot burn us now... speak out!!!!!!!!
Wow I never knew he said that -- it's amazing how so few words can say so much!
And thank you DMSelena for posting this and for caring about the things you put on Youtube and for caring about the comments that are posted! I am sick and tired of seeing sexist comments on videos.
I'm happy the video is useful. There aren't as many negative comments I have to moderate out as you'd think. The overwhelming majority are positive. Probably 95%. But all it takes is a few obnoxious people to make others feel like it's okay and then women feel intimidated and demoralized, so I try to be vigilant. They have the rest of the Internet to go share how they feel about women. They don't need to do it here.
@DMSelena i found this video very infromative my wife is pagen me myself muslim but i learned alot of info i did knot know or understand i have always been tolerent of others beliefs but i didnt have a good understanding of paganism or its core beliefs or its foundations so thank u
I am a Christian, and agree with ratsdp. There are countless fake Christians who just use the religion as a label and don't take aboard Christ's teachings.
At this time alot of the men in power of the witch hunts etc used their power to bend women to their will......if a woman declined to do as they were bid then this was the ultimate price......not in all cases but in quite a large number.....the source for this information is in the archives of the church of logical thinking...you can google it
1:52....."hate mail". its stunning how many adherants to the Malius Maleficarum still creep about the modern world. they are like a noxious disease. backward cropped haired fools in dull grey suits with dull grey minds.

This history of atrocity needs to be taught more. Modern religions, where fanatics have control in nuclear nations, are a grave threat to civilization. It is time for rationalism and honest, sincere skepticism to push aside mystical and stone-age religious morality.
It's a strange phenomenon how "christians" can do such sheer evil with the total delusion they are/were doing good. But I guess a careful study of christian beliefs can explain it.... a god that sends most people to eternal hell for a short life of mere fallability... therefore the ultimate mentaly ill "person" imagineable is the christian god "himself". The bible is full of twisted "morals" painted as holiness. It's followers loose there ability to understand ethics clearly.
I agree. Christianity preaches love and projects hatred. And according to them, if something tragic happens in a christian home, it's because they are being "tested for worthiness to God", yet if the very same tradgedy happens within a Pagan home, it's a punishment for being a devil worshiper. And the way I see it, if a person has to scare or threaten people into following their belief system, then there is something wrong with that system.
One must understand that many books from the bible were written ages ago, hence some of the morals and ethics do seem ubsurd in our daily lives. It is easy to to be a critic of religion (any religion) The most important thing however is to understand that ultimately the root of Islam, Christianity, Judaism ect is one of love. It is easier to question faith rather than question ones own devotion to a belief.
They don't say that Trier was a new religious cult - just that a sign of the new religious cult - Christianity - was erected in Trier.

Good call on Trier being in Germany, not France. You would have thought the documentary makers might have noticed the words on the buildings behind the cross.

The burning of witches was a crime against humanity. Did the church apologized for this crime? I don't think so...
Who doesn't remember the past, is in danger to repeat it... Never ever again! No racism, no fascism, no sexism, no believer fights, no wars!
No religion in the Public Schools. Absolute separation of church and state!
