While the intonation is slightly better in the 50s TV broadcast someone posted, this recording is much better quality-the ensemble is exceptional. I'll take her Musetta any day.

It's difficult to imagine a better Boheme cast. Wonderful rendition of this lovely little scene. Superb performances given by two ladies of extraordinary physical and vocal beauty.

Magnificent Moffo...I love her especially when I can tell she is feeling good! I wonder who the Mezzo is? I've tried to identify her, but can't quite be sure. Does anyone know? Could it possibly be Blanche Thebom??

Search around a little and you can find A.M. 's other La Boheme with Robert Merrill and Richard Tucker, et.al. and it is only equaled , in this humble narrators opinion, by this recording , of course in THAT early 60's recording A.M. is Mimi and she

really catches fire while singing against Merrill , you'll see , and hear . it's a feast ! of course Puccini  IS desert opera , so don't take chances get to the desert first !

Why do I love her voice so much. Because it is beautiful. Because when she reaches a note she hits it with precision, and she sustains it with precision. She does not screech. I am not an expert, and do not know how to evaluate her as an actress or interpreter. But I have not heard another recording of this aria that I enjoy hearing so much.

I love her. And it's great to hear Callas too -- I've never heard the harmonies done so well between Mimi and Musetta there, it usually sounds kind of muddy. I love the contrast -- the sexy Musetta in the foreground and Callas' Mimi giving an almost "haunting" quality in the background.

Maria Callas is certainly one of the greatest sopranos who ever performed. I completely agree with "latraviata1853! Branko acts as a buffoon when he makes such comments.You don't judge on an operatic singer based on a note or two.

@Erdrick345 so you basically admit that she is spoiling - i simply find the ugliness to be ugly, and I find "C person's" voice not always but often to be ugly and rather irritating, so do other people who listen without prejudice - there is no law to put in in jail for that, nor there is 'common sense' that would proclaim me, when expressing my taste, as a "buffon"

i actually don't mind Callas at all, in fact..., but her fans can be terribly annoying - there are a few videos here (of other singers) where some Callas fan does not say that Callas does it better... usually followed by some outlandish statement - i feel that if one would post Shalyapin singing Godunov it would happen too! :)))
