Start by keeping the clothing the same. Next come up w/ an accident that makes sense; if the board is going to cut you half it the waist it should somehow get kicked up in the air and land on your waist. A lot of blood would help sell the effect, plus a scream of agonizing pain.

Everyone this is obviously fake for 3 reasons:

1) The rubber ducky under the tv changes position when he falls, which was planted there to act as a suspect.

2) He said it was an ankle snap but if you look at 0:10, it was obviously a double ankle twist

3) Before Ted discovered Joe, he led in with a very corney line indicating that it may have been the corniness of Ted's jokes that ultimately dealt the death blow.

The fact that the TV is off and Joe has no head are irrelevant variables.
