@rednoseroxy Annnnnd maybe you didn't even watch the video..... My form is bad no doubt, this is an old video. It blows a 700 away out of the box. Needs no aftermarkets to shoot sub MOA out of the box, and the action/trigger are unmatched stock.
@aermotorstudio what kind of 100 yard MOA do you think this is capable of (including getting action bedded and etc.)? I'm stuck between getting this or springing for a custom build
@TownPiligan14 It's honestly capable of around .25 MOA but I can regularly shoot .5 MOA – The gun is so precise it's really all about the shooter doing their job. The gun is better than me any day of the week. Do you mean an M1A? Don't get that if you're looking for MOA accuracy, that's not what they are built for. A custom build will set you back A LOT more than this cost me and the Tikka still might out shoot it.
@aermotorstudio not an m1a so much as like a remington 700 action and then build a rifle around that, but that would cost all up around 1500. It would for sure though be a near .25moa gun which is why I was asking what you think this one can do. And at it's price if it honestly can reach .25 or even sub .50 then I could use the extra cash saved for nicer glass
@TownPiligan14 This gun stock will run circles around a built 700 and for a fraction of the cost imo. The only weak point is the stock itself: I added a 1" plastic spacer + a recoil pad to help the length of pull for me. A few companies make aftermarket stocks these days though so you could always look into that, but I honestly have no problems with it now.
I used Rustoleum Bed Liner spray on the whole thing which gives it an amazingly nice grip now and I also painted it. Lemme find a pic.
@chevy2990 Absolutely. They are incredible guns for the price with triggers than multi-thousand dollar guns can't match. The only weak point is the stock, but you can either live with it or pay $500 for a nice manners tactical stock.
@aermotorstudio yeah had a look at one yestiday and the bolt action of them are sooo bloody smooth! i couldn't believe it! well im in Australia and they retail for around 1600 bucks here -.- How much are they in the US? if your located there?
Hey I recently Bought a T3 Varmint 308, havent yet been able to go brake it in...
Heard alot of good stuff about these but noticed you state that the stock is a "weak point"... outta curiosity whats wrong with the Tikka stocks and why do you recommend a Manners Tactical stock..
@gunnymorello The stock is just slippery and lightweight in the rear, it feels out of balance. What I did to make it a lot better was I took the gun apart and sprayed it with Rustolium Bed Liner and it's really nice now. It has an almost factory feel to it, quality. Also, believe it or not, I took off the buttpad and filled the stock with rice. It adds a little bit of weight and makes it feel more solid. These are a few small things you can do to make the gun a lot better without a new stock.
Anyone got a good idea what weight round would be good for the T3... 20" barrel with a 1-11" twists, long range precision target shooting. 0-1000+ yards
@gunnymorello, ditch the 20" barrel if you want distance, 0-250 - 350 yards with a 20" barrel is fine i'm sure you can hit 3 - 5 group shots sub MOA. Any longer distance and the projectile just looses momentum. Longer barrel better distance. and if you sight it over that distance and hit the target I can assure you you will never hit the same spot. your groups will be all over the place, a tactile style 20" barrel is effective only on the shorter distance. Hope this helps. LONGER FOR LONGER!!!!
@aermotorstudio well i have many books about the riffles, and i read that when you reolad very fast, than riffle accuracy is lower (of course it takes time). experienced shooters tries to reolad much slower
nothing quite sounds like a .308 love it!

Excellent rifle. I have one in .270. Question: where did you pick up the 5 round clip?
