@allenjames22 As long as people are immigrating in and not out, it can help us grow. More workers means greater productivity, growing assets. It helps increase our population growth rate so it doesn't turn negative like in Japan. Each new working immigrant adds to the economy. Only subtracters are the citizens not working and siphoning social aid. An economy based on production should welcome more producers. Sadly, we're based on consumption and service to that end.

I just wish he wasn't also in support of securing our borders from immigration. Bringing troops home to secure our borders is a hell of a lot better than the present situation, however, federally securing borders should only be against national threats, not individuals entering or leaving, IMHO.

@jgbloyd securing our borders against illegal* immigration is not a bad thing... funny thing is that if Paul were president, he would end the war on drugs; which will in turn starve the cartel and make that border jump a little less enticing. :D

@ThePoisonYouth My problem is more in what we arbitrarily define as "illegal" when it comes to immigration. There's nothing criminal about immigration. The only victims are the immigrants themselves after being dealt with by our unjust laws against them. This is a country founded by immigrants and who once welcomed more. What ever happened to "bring your tired, your poor... to the land of the free"? We ought to be ashamed.

There are a lot of things that Ron Paul couldn't do without the help of Congress, but there are a few things that he can do on his own. He will: end the wars, bring the troops home, end the war on drugs and pardon all non-violent drug offenders. The insane war on drugs began as a presidential order; Ron Paul will end it with a presidential order. Those things alone are enough reasons for me to support him. If he can end the income tax and shut down the Fed, too, so much the better! Go Ron Paul!

The man is dropping straight facts... How we take them is a measure of our characters. What I like about Dr. Paul is that even if you don't agree with him on his personal beliefs he isn't going to push them on other people through the force of govt. A non oppressive neutral govt will make us people have to raise the bar and start advancing humanity once again.
