A realy impressive trailer. Captures the opening of the comics, it sort of runs like an injoke that you can feel proud knowing that you understand it. The music gave it a real Kill Bill edge to it, the anti hero characteristics of the film and all.

Did you create the "WATCHMEN" title plate in a 3D application or in After Effects? What font did you use, if any? I've been using a Futura Condensed but it just doesn't look right, yours looks much closer to the real deal

Zaxwerks Pro Animator. And the font was IMPACT - although FUTURA CONDENSED is actually the correct font!

Everyone says that Futura Condensed is the right font, but I did a title treatment of it and it no matter how much I work the scale/kerning/leading, I can't get it to look like the treatment on the movie ads and on the graphic novel itself...Impact actually looks closer ddue to the width of the letters. Odd

I forgot to mention that, while I do like the overall piece, I think the font for the 'Watchmen' title card leaves a bit to be desired. It just doesn't seem gritty enough. It looks too flashy to fit in with the rest of its grimy nature. Perhaps if you made it look more like Rorschach's handwriting, or even left out entirely (the smiley-face button really says it all).

Well I think the quality of what you've done is fantastic, but the tone and music is all wrong for Watchmen. Watchmen is not a Tarantino hipster kind of thing, it's very dark and contemplative.

Thanks. A lot of comments have been made about the music - some love it, some hate it. I chose it to reflect the dark nature of Rorschach - this is his teaser to the film, and ideally I would make a whole series of them, one for each of the main characters.

Possibly. The idea was to create something that fitted Rorschach's grungy style - like it was almost created by him. Interestingly, the recent movie stills released on the site, all have those grunge style frames around them.

not bad. i always liked the idea of a watchmen trailer to "club foot" but i think the full begining should be used. also, try giving the audience just a little more to chew on to be legitimately teased.
