My son, who is ausistic, just saw a excert on the musical for the first and he said "let's go now" a child after my own heart. I wish I was there now. Staying positive I will get to broadway. @mhollis1989 hehehe i cried during that part. i didnt cry during that movie scene, but seeing it on broadway somehow made it feel more realistic. whenever i hear the words "lion" or "king" i feel like im going to start crying again, no joke. but then i remind myself... "hakuna matata!" ;D

@roboguy75 In The authentic Afrikan tradition the Story teller and keeper of the spirit of the community is more often Female than male. That is why it made more sense for Rafiki to be a woman to me anyway.

@WWELURVA101 They cast Rafiki as a woman because of the lack of female roles. The androgyny of the shaman role made this an easy switch. Having a woman sing "The Circle of Life" also gave the song more power and meaning in its connection to birth and rebirth.
