you just don't understand the magnificence of this musical until you see it. i saw it at the mandalay bay just before they left. the whole show gave me goosebumps. it was a and still is a masterpiece
it was awesome. I've been waiting since '98 to see the musical and I'm still optomistic that I'll see it. My son, who is ausistic, just saw a excert on the musical for the first and he said "let's go now" a child after my own heart. I wish I was there now. Staying positive I will get to broadway. THIS I PROMISE! LOL
@mhollis1989 hehehe i cried during that part. i didnt cry during that movie scene, but seeing it on broadway somehow made it feel more realistic. whenever i hear the words "lion" or "king" i feel like im going to start crying again, no joke. but then i remind myself... "hakuna matata!" ;D
Such an excellent show for costumes, staging, and even though we already knew the story my mother told she was glad that I pushed to see this when we were in New York City.

@WWELURVA101 They cast Rafiki as a woman because of the lack of female roles. The androgyny of the shaman role made this an easy switch. Having a woman sing "The Circle of Life" also gave the song more power and meaning in its connection to birth and rebirth.
thats awsome, and the costumes are cool.

interesting play, a few things confused me though, why was the person who played rafiki a girl, I thought rafiki was a male

@roboguy75 I also heard that the playwright noticed there were no female leads, and made Rafiki a woman for that purpose
