my dad just got some for free and when I took everything out of the box, there was no receiver just 5 satellites and a sub. the sub sounds decent but I can't hook up the others because no receiver. bummer. but it's not like we payed for em. they are called Dahlton digital
I just got hit today.... They got 300 from me... To hell with this scammers, I thought it was a good buy since my daughter is turning 3 years old this weekend and I just wanna throw a good party for her and her friends. Co you tuber beware I live in Nj and here's the number of the guy who scammed me 2013048536 and he said his name is mikey.... Let's unite and pest him with phone calls!!!
LMAO don't be mad you bought it out of your own greed!! did mikey force you to buy it????nope he SLAMMED you into buying it i would of got you for 500 but thats me!its not a scam people remember nobody is forceing you to do anything ur own greed takes over......STFO ALL DAY EVERY DAY!!!!!
*Speaker scam* in brampton all of my family member were partying and bbq outside. suddenly a white Cadillac Escalade SUV pulled up and start talking shit like o we got most expensive speakers blah blah. they open the trunk there is 6 or 8 divince speaker sets were in there my dad my dad's aunt and my dad's aunt cuzin bought it. not sure how much was the total. but they got scammed. But my aunt took there licence plate number.
Tell the sellers you have to go home and get the money. Let them follow you to the house. When you get their ask them to bring em into the house while you get the money. Grab your gun and do what you want. I recommend death.
why would you even buy speakers? why would you even think about buying speakers or anything else on the street? i wouldn't but anything if they paid me to take their crap. And the vans are most likely rentals. The vans i see look like rentals.
Here's another one i saw today NJ plates YEC95F white Chevy van, driver and passenger selling home theater systems. where's police when you need them.
they pitched me the other day, technically the police said what they are doing is not illegal unless and are selling them on property in which there is no soliciting... anyways i didn't buy that shit because i have heard it before.
im sorry, but why is it ALWAYS a white van? like seriously anyone in winnipeg who drives a white van is probably 60% more likely to be a pedophile/ex-con/ or a sam artist, WE'VE GOT TO TAKE THE WHITE VAN BACK BEFORE ITS TO LATE
Yup they got me a year ago, I felt like an idiot especially since I know audio equipment. I was just greedy, and never thought it could be a scam since everything seem so dam official.
Then I screwed up again,my ego was so hurt that I pretty much just wrote it off and only mentioned it to one or two people, now just yesterday a coworker calls me up about this amazing deal he got,I thought fuck I should have told as many people as possible.A warning is going up on the BB at work from now on.
Just got scammed myself. I got screwed over for 160. Should have tried to lower it. My ego is pretty torn right now. I haven't been able to sleep for the past couple of hours. Some guy even wanted to buy the speakers off of me after the sale but I was stupid enough to disregard that guy. I did get the tag and I remember everything clearly. Even though I did not lose as much as others have, it hurts me more cause I have no job and no use for these speakers :( . I just want my money back
HAHAHAHAHA! You have no job!? WHAT THE FUCK are you doing spending 160 on speakers anyway!? And where did you get this phantom 160? If you dont work... I wonder what you did to really get the speakers!?!?!?!?!
i just got scammed maybe about 5 hours ago anyone know what i can do to get my money back next time i see one of these guys ill probably shoot them in the head
I myself build my own speakers!!,using quality speaker drivers from pyramid speakers. Very good quality and not expensive. I would suggest people stick with known brands (Radio Shack)etc. if you see anyone selling Speakers out the back of a car of van be very careful,,,Ask them if they have an audio system to hook them up to so you can hear the product!! Take them out of the box Right There in front of them!!!! I stopped my sister from buying them..
Haha soooo glad i didnt just buy that guys shit! He flags me down while im driving and stops me says he has these Genesis G-508 speakers which retail for 4,199! Oh and guess what he wants to sell em for... 300 bucks cash! I was actually considering it and got his number till i looked it up online!!! Thank god i didnt go to the atm like he wanted me to. He had magazines with the price of them and invoices receipts all nonsense shit. Said his boss was going to take them in an hour, had to sell em.
Wow, I can't believe I found this vid..this shit happened to me twice, in Pennsylvania; once in the early nineties and again a few years later. Only one of them got out of the van to talk to me, and he was wearing fake light blue contac lenses and right away he showed me an "invoice" or something and I knew he was full of crap (why would you whip that out so fast, and say, "It's cool, they're legal"?)
I got scammed today.. 2 Guys in a Grey Toyota 4runner. It was in Federal Way WA at a Safeway Parking Lot. They got me for $1000. Boy I feel like a sucker. At least I'm not the only sucker...Not funny I know. Got home and looked them up.....saw same thing as others....SCAM!
I got scammed buy three guys in a light blue SUV here in Miami. I do have their license plate #. I don't know what I can do with that #. If anyone knows please send me a message.
I also remember seeing another pair of these scammers in a parking lot at Scottsdale and Shea in Scottsdale Arizona about a year ago. These two guys had a light blue SUV, unlike the guys at the shell station that had a light grey Dodge Caravan.
I got 'scammed' as well, in Waterloo Ontario a few years back. I think I ended up paying 200 or 250 for a pair. I have no doubt that I paid more than they're worth, but I actually don't feel all that scammed. They are big beautiful speakers, and they WORK. Not only do they work but they sound awesome. So I don't really feel scammed, just a little ripped off. No more ripped off then when I pay my Rogers bill each month.
If the speakers didn't work at all, that would be a very different story.
got suckered in the hallandale/hollywood area in broward county with a genesis media lab set. dark truck with a small flatbed. young white guy sold to me while 2 other people stayed in truck. i kept saying no, no, no, but he was aggressive and put the shit in my car like i said yes already but i didn't. in the end i agreed and went to atm and got the 300 dollars for him. next time i'm approached by a white van salesman i will punch him in the face even if it's not the same person who scammed me.
If you can talk them down to 100 or less, it might be a good deal. What you do next is gut it out and replace everything inside with an brand speakers from "Parts Express". You cannot make 2 speaker cabinets for 100 bucks! I saw one last month at a pawnshop in Marysville, CA--selling price is $299. These scammers are even scamming the pawnshops. The owner told me that somebody dropped it there and has no money to take it back. I did not tell her that she was conned. She might get upset.
I got scammed like 1hour ago i bought some g-6.1 home theater system i paid 120 for them i dint get scammed by a white van i got scammed by a blue chevy avalanche in Glendale arizona what sucks is i dont live there i live in California so
thay sell fake acoustic image Wow are thay as good as AI ive got one of there recivers and its awsome i didnt buy it from them i borght it second hand IF U WANT GOOD STUFF GET SECOND HAND AUDIO EQUIPMENT ITS BETTTER
If you are paying money for a product, then you are not being scammed. I too own a pair of speakers from DOGG DIGITAL. They are great, and sound incredible. You are paying very little money for some top of the line speakers. This company, by the way, was a real company. They are listed in the phone book and have an address. This is a real product you bought for cash which makes that a legitimate sale. Don't get pissed and say you got scammed just because you didn't get $3000 speakers for $150.
the speakers are not that bad actuallly if you talk them down to 100 bucks I have never owned any but there is a pair at the pawn shop though, and theyre some big honkin speakers :D
lol this same shit happened to me.... and a friend and my boy bought em for 700 big ones.. I told him not too but the guys in the van spoke a good one..
Too funny. I have been approached probably 10 - 15 times to buy "white van speakers" dating back to the early 80's ! Back then they were "water cooled"... HA !
Winnipeg Police arrested 2 guys this week in connection with this speaker scam. The guys were from the Toronto area. There was an article in the Winnipeg Sun on August 18, 2007
the scam is that they're selling you shitty speakers for as much as possible, providing false evidence of their quality and are claiming they've been stolen (using real round-about language).
I think that the white van speakers are just chinese made entry level speakers that these guys buy lots of and re-badge them and put them in new boxes and re-sale them without the original company's permission I do know that the companys that make the speakers have been suing them and the manufacturer of the grille cloths sued them too for not paying them for making new grilles for the speakers.
i just saw them on the internet/ e-bay and for the money they can't be that bad. not saying i'm going to buy them nor do i support them but let's face it, there's noone on this forum that has not sold something in our life that we did not {SOUP UP THE TRUTH} to get a little more money!!!! ever sold your used car? did you wash it? ok, where's the scam? i'm confused!
1. they had a product for sale.
2. they told you what you wanted to hear.
3. you bought it!
has anyone on this forum bought a new vehicle lately? if selling tactics are scams, dealerships are at the top of the list.
