Excellent! The P-40 is my favorite warbird, mainly for sentimental reasons I must confess. Curtiss was headquartered in my hometown of Buffalo, NY, comprising a significant portion of what was then the largest aircraft design and manufacturing center in the world. Incidentally, among the many aircraft designed, tested, and produced here were every single one of almost 14,000 total P-40s.
As for this particular P-40, kudos to owner Peter Teichman who continues to fly the hell out of that thing.
In recent years, its been good to see more of these birds restored to flying condition. As more of todays pilots get their hands on one, its also heartening to see the P-40 regaining the respect it deserves. At least youd think that the P-40s stellar service record would have spoken for itself, but for years the aircraft was inexplicably disparaged by scholars. Of course, among the pilots who have actually flown it -- especially those who flew it in combat -- it requires no such redemption.
Thanks also for filming what appeared to be the entire flight, including all of the commentary, with good audio. Too many of these clips are so badly recorded and edited theyre unwatchable, but this is a shining exception!
thank you for not masking the sound of the plane with music!!
