from what i experience in all my 6 years in dancing, this one is one of the best SYF videos i have seen. they all synchronize their steps for example, their jumpings and all those small tips. have alot of energy and flexibilty. i like it. deserved a gold award. congratulations CGS. :D
Oh please, JC and Secondary dance judges at different yardstick. If you get me to judge on the whole, this is better because it invokes more thoughts and feelings to think and feel about albeit the lack in techniques. The dance "Taal" has not much of a meaning to it if you think about it. But this, there's risings and fallings, like blood spurting. The last burst at the end ends the dance aptly, like the last shot of vitality. Do you get the beauty of it?
VJ dance is good. I like the dance a lot, but if you think about it, it's really "that's that". As for this, even after watching finish the dance, it still lingers you, lingers your mind. It gives you something to think about. Unlike "Taal", it has a theme. Do you see it now? So please, don't belittle this dance just because you like VJ's one better, people have different views.
just commenting: i don't think having a theme like "vitality" should be a judging criteria. the dance should be critically assessed based on how effective it is for being what it is, what it saught to achieve and so on. the girls have done an excellent job here. but i do think there's a lot of depth of feeling and meaning that the vj dancers invested in their own dance. it doesn't need to be explicit for sth to be good. this one wowed me. but there was a brightness about vj's

The choreographed dance steps are nice...The passion of dance is there...Music is excellent.. but it would be perfect if it wasn't so messy..but overall...well-done..

I think you can only order through your schools. Or ask a dance friend from another school to burn it? But then that wouldn't be original anymore eh. I don't think the DVDs are gonig to have the Indian/Malay/Chinese dances. =X
I like how the varied placement of the blocks creates different settings altogether. I think the piece is pleasing in its entirety and draws the audience in slowly. Haha yea gkh2606 i love the nitty nitty choreography right down to the basic movements and techniques. Hmmm, RJ's chinese dance this year also brought in contemporary elements to classical chinese dance techniques, and I thought they were wonderful too.
Well well, this dance grows on you. Vitality indeed. Soft mellow pulsing until at the very end which is released. Although it is still soft and watered down, it is still powerful enough to erupt and engages you. Like blood isn't it? Liquid red but powerful.
The beginning part is intriguing but not drawing enough.
The middle part is mystical, but not captivating enough.
The last bit is the real essence. I guess that's the prowess of it all- A build up at the beginning to unleash at the very end. By the way gymmerz, it is unique because it is a combination of chinese dance and modern dance techniques. Wonderous isn't it?
A very unique piece of dance,the video quality is rather lousy though,not as breathtaking as watching it live -.- Nevertheless,good job and I bet laoshi is very pleased too.For the sec 4s,good luck for O'lv and the rest must continue to work even harder =)
Unusual pace for a modern piece, but I love the quick movements and I think it was quite a challenge for the girls to keep the energy through the dance. The predominant blocking was good too, with the layering effects coming through very strongly in many scenes. Nice job! =)

if you took part in the syf, most probably your teacher in charge would get orders to buy for you.
either that, you could go to some shop to buy them.. a dvd with all gold and gwh dances cost $50 i think.. but not sure where to buy. sry
