  • Or just press the circle and the sleep button and wait until restart

  • This just happened with me on my iPhone 4S, ii did a force shutdown and thank god finally it turned back on. I wasusuing the Facebook app when it completely froze up and then went to the black screen with only the white hashed circle appearing.

  • @frankipileggi Facebook and other apps have had problems here and there with bugs. It's good to know how to do the hard reset (forced shutdown) of the device using the holding the power button and home button trick.

  • hey, i have a problem with my iphone 4, i dont know how the color on the backgroun changed, the black with the white(ps when you turn of the apple is black with the white backround), the green color with the pink etc etc. pls can you give a solution??

  • @eriszenelaj Sorry for late reply, Hard reset your device holding the home button and power button until the device shuts off on it's own. If that doesn't fix your problem try backing up and doing a restore of your device. If that doesn't work then erase your device completely without restoring from backup. If it's still messed up you have a bad device and need to have it repaired or replaced.

  • Next time I'm going with Blackberry, these apple products suck

  • @elbananero818 These apple products are pretty good, and more functional for some than the blackberry, though I do prefer the physical keyboard on blackebrry if you do need to do a lot of trying and writing e-mails. Though there are many Bluetooth Slide out keyboard / cases for the iPhone that help with that shortcoming a bit.

  • i crash that's y i am here. also black

  • @babyrosyx3 Make Sure your software is up to date. If you get stuck in a look like this reset it holding the home and power buttons until it shuts off on it's own.

  • I'm having a crash with my iPhone 4s

  • @GEEZUZ1234

    really?

  • this is happening to me too , but ithink its just the crapy ass andriod winterboard theme i downloaded.. dam smh it needs to to that crashing springboard save that the iphones did in the older modles

  • Im having an endless crash with my iphone right now !!!!

  • Try powering it off by just holding down the power button (not home button) until the screen goes black. That's what I have to do sometimes

  • this happen to my new iphone 4 i brought 2 days ago.i guess i'll have to sent it in for a new one.

  • Buy a High end android smart phone!!!!!!!

  • it happens everytime i download a specific cydia package :/

  • @JG16778 I returned that case when I returned the iPhone, I got new iPhone little over a month later. As well as the Bumper Case, Snap Case, and now the Mophie Juice Plus battery charging case. So I have my pick. The Griffen case was nice though.

  • press home and power longer and it will force a reboot

  • You can get a new one from Apple within 1 year...... they let you keep the old one.....

  • @flywithjacob I somehow doubt Apple would replace an iPhone and not expect you to return the faulty unit. Anyway that's after the fact, I already had returned it and purchased a new one a month later.

  • @Ben7seven7 Can I have the iPhone? I could take it and repair it... for myself.....

  • @flywithjacob I returned the phone and purchesed a new one about a month and half later via the Apple web site.

  • @ThatGreekGuy23 Yes, I'l take the defecty though!

  • you might need to restore your phone

  • I'm having the same problem. It started when I put the phone in an otterbox case. It would completely wig out. I thought the unit was overheating in that case. I took it out and it worked fine for a day then it had another freak out session. Hard booting it about 5 times allowed it to recover. Mine is brand new so I'm thinking of returning it. It does seem to happen when it's plugged in to an AC outlet. Hard to pin down the cause at this point. Very frustrating though.

  • @scundoalex That could have been heat. Also there's always the possability of a software fault. The only way to test that theory is resetting and deleting your phone, then having it redect as a new phone in itunes and restore your purchases. Keep in mind doing this will make you loose any save games. You can have a secondary back up file so you can go back to your original if necessary.

  • My HTC Jade has crashed maybe 2 or 3 times so far in the last 12months, but it never happened during any phone calls, only when I installed incompatible app on it. I love it so much because it works like a tiny pc and it's so small I can comfortably put it in any pocket. I haven't tryied the iphone 3 or 4, the only reason they're too big for me to carry. Since men don't carry purses, iphones are better suited for women.

  • @nawkrm iPhones are best suited for everyone, not just women. lol As well as anyone who wants a solid, functional fast easy to use OS with the biggest app store ever and a lot of handy apps you can get if jailbroken.

  • my iphone 4 crashes about once every two days....do you think thats enough evidence to get a new one from apple

  • restore it

  • @shuan1210 The new iphone 4 I got I've been using since Tuesday and so far so good. not a single crash of any kind.

  • maybe its the case lol cuuz i have the same case and having the same prob.

  • @StuntMan0077 lol the phone having apps crash and the phone go into reboot loops like that has nothing to do with the case it's in. That's pretty silly. And I had the Griffin Reveal case at the time in case you're wondering.

  • take it back to apple they will replace it for ya im sure its a firmware problem. i had the same thing and got it replaced

  • i had this happen to me once actually. but it happened only during a phone call about 2 minutes into the call. i had to hard reboot. did you end up finding a fix?? or swap it out? im curious to what the outcome was

  • gotta love apple's quality lately :oP

  • How will jailbreaking the device resolve the issue of the device crashing every day? Seriously that's not the brightest answer though thanks for the feedback anyway. I returned the device for full refund, will wait for iOS 4.1 before purchasing another.

  • I would recommend Jailbreaking it, but that WILL void the warranty. Kinda risky, but i think it'll work. Good luck, I'm not responsible for anything that happens.

  • @flywithjacob it wont void the warranty LOL
