  • When you pray do you ever see a light in the corner of your field of vision? I see it and when I turn over the light is always in an upward position. When I stop praying, the light goes away.

  • lol lmao.

  • Psycho therapist.

    lol

  • A near death experience is not enlightenment, and most don't make it beyond the archetypes or beyond the ego, the wall of sleep and dream that surrounds the temporal self.

I am alone: there is no God where I am.

  • I had almost the same near death experience.. with the white light came in the same way... warm feeling, love, i knew that i'm gonna die but i was feeling so calm, happy, peaceful.. all...

  • She has an interesting accent, which I've heard in a few interviews/forums, but I cannot place it. It almost sounds like Minn/Wisconsin/Iowa, but at other times, simply sounds like a perfectly trained accent of Americanized English. She sounds very interesting, and unique in her accent.

Anyone know what part of the country she is from? Or if originally not a native speaker?

  • Pretty amazing lady with an interesting story.

  • @SoldierOfLight1 So what? Call Him the way you feel like; how did she know whether it was Yahweh or another heavenly being?

  • There is a new ebook, only 99 cents, if you can afford it, which actually explains a science behind NDEs and how esp works.

    'God Stopping A Nuclear War'

There are a few chapters on how Satan and God are fighting in today's world.

Wall Street corruption, sucide bombers, black rioting and crime in the UK, failure of education, the seizing of the internet, and banking, are all there.

Also there is a link to a secret website used by Hollywood for religious themes in movies

  • Hi MJ...I saw you today on ABC World News Tonight with Diann Sawyer..:-)

Do you know of Mary K Baxter?

Looks like that tunnel will be one of the most important places any of us will ever be...best regards.....REV 18

  • how nice:)

  • Is it just me or does she sound like Sarah Palin?

  • @loathingbutterfly : Yes, I just posted something on this, but I cannot place it. Might be Minnesota , or Wisconsin (Palin's is a generic Iowa-cum-Northwest rural (meaning, everywhere in the NW except Portland or Seattle). LOL.

  • I was just wondering, do Muslims have a near death experiences where they go into a beautiful place? Has any Muslim ever had a near death experience?

  • @ruflychux

Why wouldn't they? They're human are they not?

  • @ruflychux People from different religious backgrounds and nonbelievers/atheists have NDEs, including Muslims. The usually interpret who they meet according to their cultural/religious beliefs, but the core elements seem to be universal.

  • Wow this is scary. What if her body had been blown up in an explosion? Where would she have gone then if she wasn't allowed into heaven? Jesus Paid it all. That's what I would have said if I were thinking clearly enough. I've never heard any of these stories where someone said that. Maybe because they are allowed in. Maybe if she had said that she wouldn't be here now. But she would have been on the safe side in case her body had been permanently dead.

  • she had a shitload of DMT released into her system.

  • @russian1mafia In regards to DMT: How do you explain the many cases of NDE people that were able to see and hear things away from there body (such as in another room) in which they couldn't possibly have known about? An example is the Anita Moorjani case in which she heard her husband's coversation in a hallway outside her closed door, 40 feet away ... all while she was having her NDE in a hospital. Explain how DMT caused that to happen.

  • @Quickdraw1111 go kill yourself and find out how it happend.

  • I really like this video. It gives me hope. The guy I was with who asked to marry me a while ago... we were with each other almost 2 years... passed recently from meds he had to take for many years due to some illness he had - he didn't like talking to me about it. He just started his mid life years and then he passed and I really truly miss him. We both loved each other So much and this video makes me feel like he might be in a better place. I love him a lot.

  • Did "he" say "he" was God? Just because you see a light don't mean you're with god. We go back to our maker/makers, but I don't know if its god, maybe aliens that we think is god and his angels? Im open to everything, why aint you?

  • @dalaan88 Aliens? hmmmm u r joking right? I hope u r. Did u know atheists go through all this as well. Even the biggiest haters. and disbelievers. it is not an alien for sure. someday, maybe you will experience this. i just hope it will not be your first and last time.

  • FUCK YOUR FUCKING SPIRITS BITCH DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM I COULD DESTROY YOUR GHOST WITH MY POWER!!!

  • the second she said " the room.... the room is brilliant", I smiled.

  • Theology Major. Says it all.

  • @holmes194 Really? Explain how atheists go through all this. Especially the real haters. U can't. so do not bother trying to. ;o) thanks anyhow.

  • True wisdom is realizing you know nothing. We know nothing outside of Earth so how are we to say it is fake.We know very little compared to what is in the universe and most things are beyond human comprehension. So to say something is fake or not real is ignorant and arrogant as anything is possible.

  • Our perception of the experience is being shaped by the inaccurate name someone gave it. If she's still alive she didn't die. Using the word death to describe her condition imposes a description of the experience that never actually happened.

  • I believe it is NOT about "religion" but about a personal relationship with our Creator. If we trust in Him we will be OK. He loves us, every one of us and wants us to love Him. I also believe that time as we know it is very short. Yeshua is coming soon so tell everyone you know about God and His love. John 3:16 sums it all up. Maranatha!

  • Watch some videos about the children of god. You must think different about god, I think. God is a sort of love and light that also tolerates the worst sins! Many people on earth are fast dreaming and hanging in euphoric feelings when they hear something like a NDE story...

  • I pray that God helps us to love others with everything He has given us.

  • I just don't know. I am not Atheist, because I except that there could be a god, and a heaven sort of place. So many people have happened to tell the same story of a long light hallway... its weird. But there is NO way to prove god does or doesn't exist. We don't know for sure she is telling the truth! It's not like she can just bring a camera with her into the tunnel of light to take a few snapshots because her body is on earth still! It sucks that we cannot find out until we die.

  • @TheTechJoint : That is why it is called faith. You cannot see electricity yet when you reach for a switch you have faith that the light will come on. You see the results, that is also true of God. I have seen many people turn their lives around because of faith. I have seen people healed. God is love, the proof of that is that He loves us so much He sent His Son as a sin offering that we may have eternal life. I am so looking forward to seeing all my family again in Heaven. Maranatha!

  • @ExtremeOgamer Praying for you, friend! There is a God-- and He loves you! And everyone else in this world! :) Jesus Christ is the answer. Bible Gateway- John 3! Mere Christianity is an excellent book to read if you truly want to know what Christians believe... and if you have a scientific mind and have trouble believing in God. CS Lewis wrote it, he was once an atheist but then gave his life to Christ. Check it out! :) May God reveal Himself to you.

  • Having had a NDE 32 years ago; it still remains so vivid today. It was more of the incredible feelings I felt that words cannot express. I also was with God, actually an infant again, being rocked in arms of air on his lap. I didn't look around or up, because I knew somehow that I was with God and didn't have the desire to look around. I felt more love, security, acceptance and overwhelming joy that can't compare with earthly feelings. It was beyond wonderful.

  • I have heard and read about NDEs before. But the clicher for me was a book about NDEs that describe blind people seeing God and others. First book about NDEs was Raymond Moody's "Life after Life". It caused a sensation for a few months. Then every now and then a book would come out about NDEs. Dr. Jeffery Long's "Evidence for the Afterlife" is the latest and its the clincher for me.

  • @ExtremeOgamer There is a difference between believing in God and believing in religion, I don't have a religion, yet I accept the existence of God

  • @greedyhips22 agreed

  • @ExtremeOgamer - I am not sure about anything either. Maybe there is nothing to look for...

  • @caviper1 DO NOT BE DISHEARTENED LIFE BEGINS WHEN YOU CROSS OVER A FRIEND OF MY SISTER DIED OF HEART FAILURE HE RETURNED ONE NIGHT AND SAT ON THE END OF HER BED SHE WAS NOT FRIGHTENED BUT HE SAID HEAVEN IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PLACE HE IS SO HAPPY NOW DO NOT FEAR DEATH JESUS CONCORED DEATH IT IS NOTHING TO FEAR

    HAVE A NICE DAY

    ROBERT

  • I wonder what the curse word was. :)

  • haha. she said "bubbler". that's what we say in Wisconsin.

  • @trousertrout27 Ain't life a trip: I'm coming here looking for answers to one thing and find another. Now I know why people laughed or looked strangely at me when I would say 'bubbler.' I grew up in Green Bay but moved on a long time ago. Still say bubbler, though, and damn proud of it.

  • @trousertrout27 : I was posting, asking where she was from..assumed Minn or Wisc.

  • Hey guys. Is that an orb that streaks down between 1.10 and 1.11?

  • @DIBBY40 I saw that too, looks weird. I thought that, but then it could be just dust...

  • I love your story. god bless. About this chuckle. I too had this experience.. A nephew of mine had passed away from cancer.and his mom was extremely depressed and in grief. she also was a firm believer in christ. anyhow everyday after his passing, I would talk to the lord and say cmon god, you have the power to do all things. allow her son to give her a message, let my cousin see her son. Then i heard this voice almost chuckling. Faith comes by hearing the word and not by sight.and it made laugh

  • doesn't sound like she ever actually died. sounds more like a dream. the fact that she was there due to a brain injury discredits her whole story for me.

  • Notice that at the begining when this woman is talking about lifting too haevy weights, and also a few seconds before that. There are wispy orbs flying all around her.

  • So, If i were to die and see aliens then come back to life would people not be wrong for believing me? Its the same damn thing with the christians, its like you ask them i question and they say they will pray for you, i say no thanks. Christians, formulate a collective theory that could atleast attempt to prove your myths, submit the theory to the rest of us so you will be making an attempt at being logical and not a blind following the blind zombie. Geez.

  • If this is true, which could be, my question is how did she know it was God and not another being working for God?

  • @franruizde Wow...good idea and very possible. I am not sure.

  • @maryh77030 The color pink knocks me off, but it could have been JESUS, or even one of the Saints. Pretty cool experience. I guess u can't wait to go back home now that u experienced it. :o)

  • @maryh77030 ... thanks for sharing this... NDE's really fascinate me, I've been interested in the "paranormal"/"supernatural" (really just the natural beyond what we have learned, I think...) all my life You say the being you encountered asked you "have you ever loved in your life like you have been loved here for this short time".... kind of just what I needed to hear at this moment. .. That you "havent given enough, you can do better..." and that it chuckled when you said "I'm only human..."

  • @franruizde What do you mean could be true ? my mother experienced the exact same..and I know someone else that did, my history teacher in grade 8 was talking about his similar experience..at this point I believe in it..and you should to..

  • @WWPSdvia When I say "could" I really mean it. Although, on the basis of my personal belief system, I'm inclined to think that she had an out-of-the-body experience with a divine being, we must admit that it could have been a non-objective experience that her own brain, which was subject to a stressful near-death situation, had produced. I strongly believe she's sincere, but we don't know much about how our brains react in situations like this, or do we?

  • @WWPSdvia Yes but think about it.. Look how life begging, we are full of energy and yet we don't know where it really comes from this energy found also in space. Look at us in relation with the Universe that we don't fully understand no matter how much we try.Not that hard to believe after all.My mother experienced out of body, where she saw her body from up, her heart wasnt beating for 2 mins, she came back smiling. For me it's important to believe in something.

  • @franruizde Good question, but I've heard that people "just know" when stuff like that happens. Most of the time the conversations happen in their mind instead of physically talking.

  • @franruizde For one who has actually HAD an NDE.... the answer is clear. THAT Divine ONE has a way of revealing ITs SELF which is UNIQUE to "God" and can not be duplicated by anything else. Being "in the Light", One's AWARENESS is moved beyond the intellectual mundane knowledge of the finite mind into the Transcendent STATE of "God" ITSELF. There is just no mistaking "God" . When you ever have one THEN you will understand how one can KNOW it is "God" beyond ALL doubt.

  • @franruizde no if u see him u know he is the god ,ur soul knows him,no mistake

  • She said God told her that: "you havent given enough" and "have you ever love any person the way you've been loved in this short time here". I think nde experiencers come back with a message for the world. We'll ask ourselfs what are we doing on earth. Why are we here? well the experiencers gives us answers! We're here to learn to LOVE ourself and others without any limitations or conditions! We're here to learn concepts, to grow our spirit.

  • @jeanpierrel . . . . Couldent agree anymore ( :

  • @jeanpierrel yes ! yes !! love her !!

  • @jeanpierrel "We're here to.....to grow our spirit"

Exactly! The meaning of life. Spiritual growth.

  • Listen to the near death song 100% true Running through new York by Richard green

  • You may enjoy Scott Sutton's video of his near death. He went all the way to heaven and came back. His description of God is similar, but with more detail. I think he could answer some of your questions. Thanks for the video.

  • I hate the "have you loved..." part. Damn responsibility.

  • bullshit

  • WHY ARE YOU SO PROUD ? YOU SAY YOU ARE THIS , YOU ARE THAT, YOU USE ALL THEDSE RIDICULUS BIG GREEK WORDS. STAY SIMPLE. YOU WILL BE MORE CREDIBLE. HUMILITY IS SOMETHING WE ALL NEED TO PRACTICE. ANYWAY BEING A LITTLE FEMININE WOULDNT DO YOU ANY HARM. MOST MEN GET PUT OFF BY AROGANT AND PROUD WOMEN. AS ITS JUST NOT FEMININ. WE ALL NEED TO LEARN TO BE MORE NATURAL.

  • @49128 What does all this have to do with her experience??? I don't find her arrogant at all. She's just giving us some context that will allow us to understand what she says happened to her

  • her brain produced dmt in the pineal gland fr this to happen

  • @tylerbelk09 what i say is please do not believe what u read, hear or see from anyone. especially scientist. as much as i love them. I think u know they are always changeing what they claimed before. Now, i would suggest to research all near death experience doc etc. Did u know most of the scientist or dr's that claim what u think never even researched it? did u know that they do not believe so they don't bother. instead they make up all kinds of stupid things. there is a few vid's on here that

  • I had a near death experience in 2006.....saw my life... it changed my life... I'm more spiritual.....I listen to people more.... Wrote out the whole experience. My legs went numb... feet up....whole body went numb then, i guess I went out....

  • @Rainy64 Near dead experiences are reproduced in the lab and have norhing supernatural. Read about it.

  • @lizazoon They haven't... There are stories of women and men seeing things in places...and knowing things they shouldn't know.Ne involved a woman seeing a red shoe on the roof of a hospital....Nurse went and looked and it was there! (Mine was very specific and had "prophecies" that came true... I asked for something to "prove " what had happened to me. "Look into some work by PM Atwater, Ken Ring and others..research some more...Look at what kids have experienced!

  • @Rainy64 NDE is a personal experience and proves nothing. It`s a fallacy to invoke a supernatural intervention, each time science has no answer YET for a certain phenomenon.. Stories can easily be invented. There is no way of checking the truth. When something unexplainable happens, remember, a solution other then natural, is the remotest of possibilities. Lightning was once the arrows of the gods.

  • @lizazoon Once again- I'll go to Pascal's wage.. if the Christians are right we have nothing to lose....even if we are wrong nothing to lose....IF Christians are RIGHT the atheists are going to have a bad week.

  • @Rainy64: Pascals wager has been answered many times. I cannot believe that one has to accept anything without evidence, without using his god-given brain to evaluate what is right and what is wrong, what is true and what is false.

  • @lizazoon "God-given brain?"......Look at some NDE experiences people have gone thru who were atheists... and look at what they have experienced. DO more research on NDE and you'll see some things which Science cannot explain...How people know what's happening in another town... when they've coded and are "dead." You are merely satisfied with smug dismissal of anything outside your own experiences. Look at some writings of things, do more research.

  • @Rainy64 -- DO more research on NDE and you'll see some things which Science cannot explain..-- If you reject science, because there are certain things they can`t explain , then you have to reject every science from A to Z, except the multiplication- tables..

  • @Rainy64 for real wut happened?! i wanna read it!

  • wowwww her story was beautiful and warm and so true!!! u can jus tell its true from her reactions and sounds in her voice....except jesus in your life and love as he love u! its really about the love!!!!! wowwww

  • @michael085609 Raed about the experiences produced in the lab. NDE`s have nothing supernatural.

  • All you are is a collection of billions of peices of information derived from your senses. This information is processed when you enter sleep. The information comprises memories. These memories are you. They are stored within DNA and the Akashic record. When your body dies, this information is stored in the Sheol Mainframe. It will be put back into another physical body in the future.

  • We aren't completely free. God imprisoned us in karma and personal responsibility.

  • she just doesn't feel believable to me for some reason. It's almost like she had to up her life story or something.

  • "theology major"???....that's like throwing in, "...and i also LIKE BANANAS." it's bullshit!

  • Hawe anyone heard about DMT. Accordingt to information about processes in our brain and importance of DMT my decision is that shit what she is talking about is just illusion made by ourselfs like dmt trips or in our dreams... It is only my oppinion :)

  • @rumbinsh check all the research before reaching a final conclusion. materialists are pretty desperate to explain away NDEs

  • @esprit1nu materialists need to disprove nde's because the belief in them would cramp their lifestyle.

  • @esprit1nu says: materialists are pretty desperate to explain away NDEs.

FR: Agreed. The 'false' ego will go to almost any length to protect its precious VIEW of REALITY and does not like anyone messing with it. But the fact is ... NOTHING here is what it APPEARS to be. There is no "OUT THERE" out there. The basic scenario of MATRIX is not that far off. The non-local / non-physical MIND acts as an extremely sophisticated "Vertual Reality" machine.MIND IS the creative tool of "God"

  • God isnt human, hes a spirit that flows energy everywhere through the entire world

  • @funnybooboo8 more or less. yes

  • I can totally relate to the experience. I felt the love too.

  • interesting

  • orb at 1:25. very cool =]

  • The love that she felt, that inconditionnal love is inside of us. We can only feel it when we have shut our mental, when we stop thinking and that we live the present moment. And mostly we can feel it when we stop to juge ourself! That what he meant by loving to way you've been love. I recommand the book of Eckart Tolle, The power of now! Everything is explain. yes it's possible for a human because WE are GOD experiencing himself throught matter!

  • @jeanpierrel GOD IS EXPERIENCING ITS SELF NOT HIMSELF.

THERE IS NO DUALITY IN THE ABSOLUTE NOR IS THERE ANYTHING TO COMPARE TO.

  • @TheLovesoul1 That's very nice of you to call God it.

  • at 1.11 an orb goes across her body. interesting.

  • I love it. "You haven't given enough." "In this life time, have you ever loved any person the way you have been loved HERE?"(Here like here in Heaven.)

  • God is real. i knoticed he was real when some of my wishes were coming true, like when i was in trouble because i had lost an item and i could never find out i was like 8 or 9 back then

  • he?

  • IDK? god is either a he/she im more use to he

  • Use to lol

God is a he and she.You are God.You are the source. You create everything around you. Please if you will research quantum physics, metaphysics,Conciousness, and people named david icke, alex collier, babra marceniak. If you do and have an open mind you will have questions you always needed answered and will begin to know the truth anout reality.I also recomend a book entitled The Holographic Universe by michael talbot.Peace n love

  • @flowfessional listen to your New Age 'can be as God' brainwashed mantra...thats what satan said to Eve, 'you can be as God' in the old testament...

  • over achieving americans eh? Some people have never heard of the middle way have they. I would not want to learn intimacy from this lady!!!

  • I've had two NDEs.

In my first NDE I was dead for three months....I was even cremated!

    I still have my ashes.

My most recent NDE was last night.

I was travelling through a dark tunnel when I saw a bright light at the end of the tunnel....as the light got closer and brighter, I heard a roaring sound....I barely jumped off the track in time!!!

    Sincerely---Ashley

  • A theology major, who else is she going to talk to....Buddha? Nice lady, but hallucinations shouldn't be mistaken for reality.

  • How do You KNOW it was an hullucination ? .... and what is Your defination of " REALITY" ? ?

  • @TheAum23 I've had a NDE. Did you know many experience "grow more detailed" as time goes by? Could it be recall or embellishment....hmmmmmm.

  • @TheAum23 or...what is a hallucination? I say it's a chemical reaction that accurs in the brain, all chemical reactions produce heat and energy, heat and energy causes all of the surrounding molecules and subatomic particles to vibrate incredibly fast, depending on the chemical, they can vibrate even faster than the speed of light. This allows the subatomic particles to communicate extradimensionally with ALL other atoms across the universe. This tuning creates an image so new but old as time.

  • @Albtraumen Much of 'reality' is an hallucination i'm afraid :) The mind holds huge amounts of knowledge, wisdom and awareness that humans didn't put there themselves.. so i think its often worth listening to whats 'inside'.

  • @Fraterculae No, reality is reality. Period.

What for example would I hold, that I didn't experience or put there myself? We're all born atheists you know, no child believes in any god. That has to be carefully indoctrinated.

I agree with keeping in touch with your inner self. The pressure to be what others wish you to be is ever present. You should stay true to yourself.

  • @Albtraumen Erm .. it is a sensible pragmatic stance to accept reality as reality. It works well for many people. Just some of us like to see more than the normal allocation of 'real' :) Erm my head was full of genius level maths as a kid .. i never put it in there !!! I have huge creativity at times which i cant take the credit for .. it comes from something i can tune into in my mind. I think that type of thing is what people mean by god..

  • @Fraterculae No, it's called imagination. If that's god, then you must worship yourself.

I also had a flair for math, funny thing though, I have no aptitude for mechanics. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. There is no one to give credit to and no one to blame.

The day you start fluently speaking a formerly unknown language, we'll talk.

    Peace

  • @Albtraumen Yoga goes into great detail about the difference between imagination, dream, and pure consciousness... as did some ancient greeks. Pure consciousness is intense and holds creativity and 'genius' .. many religious thinkers see this inner genie as being a persons innate connection to the wider 'god'.

Maths may well have 'invented to universe' in some sense. I had complex maths in my head without being taught it.. so i see it as my conduit to the greater creative whole.

  • @Albtraumen You know i did learn sanskrit .. and i have actually worked out some link words which have been lost to the language .. once you see the linguistic code you can interpolate missing branches of the language ..

Some scientists think there might be one single language precursor to all human language somehow .. if we work that out will you say it was god who showed the way? If god is the underlying mathematical code of life .. ? ps i dont think god is a bloke in the sky with a beard!!

  • @Fraterculae Congrats! New knowledge is never a waste of time. I don't know how well you know sanskrit or your expertise in the translations. But that's neither here nor there, hope you satisfy your goals.

What some scientists think and the truth remains to be seen. No, I will not automatically ascribe such things to a god. If there is proof of a god, I'd like to see it for myself. Working out the code of life would neither confirm or deny a god.

If I'm being dense, please clarify.

  • @Albtraumen Oh heck .. new knowledge is often a waste of mental space and time! :) I've worked with lots of scientists and its interesting .. the difference between those who are open to the idea of god and those who are not .. seems to be whether they want to feel that they are inside of reality or outside looking in. The viewpoint that you adopt when doing science is a fascinating and basically religious issue..

  • @Albtraumen God is a powerful concept which people use in so many different ways .. some are talking to their dad in their head. Some are negotiating with fate. Some see god as the implicit intelligence in life.. and some think the term has outlived its usefulness. For me God is the most amazing thought tool ..

  • @Fraterculae Not all scientists would agree that it is a religious exercise. But I see that we have basically different ideas of what a god might be. I do congratulate you in thinking outside the box.

One honest question, how do you use a god as a thought tool? We may never really understand each other. But there seems to be nothing wrong with your thought processes.....so, again, why do you need this tool? You seem to be doing fine on your own.

  • @Albtraumen

How do you know you've experienced reality?

Everything you experience in this world is imagination. The question is, what is the basis for it? Did you touch something and form an impression in your mind, did you dream it, etc. You can't really know.

You might at some point experience a much higher reality - it's not like imagination.

We aren't all born atheists. I felt God existed, but not by that name. I had no name for it, it was just the one who put here and was watching my life.

  • @TheGiantRobot If your pants are unzipped, that's reality. When I had an NDE, that was my PERCEPTION of what was going on....I wasn't really in top form.

NO ONE is born religious, they are inculcated from a time before they can clearly remember. I can remember incidents back to about 9 months old, of course there were no words, just emotions and impressions.

I know the difference between dreaming and reality.....it's not difficult.

  • @Albtraumen

I think you missed my point. Both, actually. That's OK.

  • @TheGiantRobot Metaphysical bushwah? Yeah, I'd just as soon miss it. But thank you just the same.

  • @Albtraumen

So, you just verified that you didn't miss it accidentally, you did so deliberately. You also verify your fear of truth by your hostile response to my experience which contradicts your theory - an experience which is not uncommon amongst children.

The more I talk to atheists, the more they show me three things: fear, dishonesty, and hostility. It's a cycle you need to keep your belief system unchallenged. It's stagnation and it's mean spirited, and it's your choice.

  • @TheGiantRobot Now you are missing the point, deliberately. That's OK, finis.

  • @Albtraumen

That was so cowardly, haha, so dishonest, that I just had an epiphany. Thanks.

  • well its delightful little story by a lovely and kind hearted woman but if god informed me that I had to leave such a wonderful place as she describes my reply would have begun with " God, can I use a swear word?"

  • P.s scientific maxim theme:

The notion of cause and effect is of central importance to empiricism, therfore if an effect is observed the existence of a cause is confirmed simultaneously, scientifically speaking that is.

I emplore you to briefly let go of the clinging grip you have on to science and abstract your thought process. Doing this you will come closer to a higher and mroe profound realisation, i warn you though there is less comfort in it than there is in science.

  • "the very concept of God places the discourse in an independent and abstract conceptual realm. "

This entire sentence is nothing but gibberish. What is it that you mean, specifically and exactly? Rigour is demanded in philosophy as well as the sciences.

Determinism is by no means an axiom in modern physics; it may be that determinism is always the case, sometimes the case, partly the case, never truly the case, or a mixture depending on the scale at which one's observations are taking place.

  • I think you will find that my thought processes are quite sufficiently abstract. It is simply the case that my judgement on all issues is withheld to a greater or lesser degree based upon the quality and conclusiveness of the evidence.

I assure you that I find little to no comfort in the realization that my life is meaningless and will very soon end in oblivion.

If the closest possible approximation of truth is the goal, then reality is the litmus test by witch all ideas must be scrutinized.

  • "the very concept of God places the discourse in an independent and abstract conceptual realm. "

the above is actually rather self explanatory, if you do not get it then you may well not be able to achieve that level of abstract thought.

The concept of God (a god, gods, an unseen force of some sort) is by definition supernatural. In other words it exists outside the realm of the laws of nature, physics etc. and thus un explainable by those disciplines (so far). ........

  • You seem to be mistaking me for some kind of religious person, when in fact my acknowledgement of the limitations of science is what makes me truly rational. Accept that there could well be a God in actual existence.

"Reality is the litmus" yes indeed, but reality need not be narrowly defined as what can be empirically observed. A thought is real, a concept exists in an abstract space which cannot as of yet be measured. Recognising this will push science forward, a re-enlightenment is needed.

  • The word supernatural in its usual usage is by definition a fallacy. Its popularity as a way of squirming out from under the heel of science stems from a gross misunderstanding of a basic concept the meaning of the word universe. When a scientist uses this word she does not mean to say "everything we can see" or "everything we currently know about". What is meant when one says 'the universe' is literally everything. Any and all observed phenomenon including if it is merely a concept in a brain.

  • So if, for instance, raptor jesus where to descend from the sky performing all sorts of seemingly impossible feats and defying all the known laws of physics, this revelation would simply be a very exciting turn of events and a new starting place for scientist.

The concept of raptor jesus previously observed as a product of faithful human brains, would now be an objective observed phenomenon; and at no point in this scenario did his holiness ever have the quality of being 'supernatural'.

  • So, please correct me if I am wrong, but are you claiming that the neural activity of human beings' brains (in the case of conceptualizing 'god') is supernatural?

Sorry if I've made you feel as if I've judged you wrongly, this is a sloppy forum for discussion. I have no qualms admitting (as I have already) that one can never have certainty whilst exploring the nature of reality. However, illogical claims are illogical and have disqualified themselves from the sphere of discussion.

  • Also, I would be interested in hearing exactly what a researcher would gain if she were to say that "concepts exist in an abstract space" (and presumably mean that literally, not as metaphor). How would one go forward from there?

Neuroscience is a very active and exciting field these days with many knew discoveries being made and postulates put forth on a weekly basis. But we must remember that science itself is a very young practice, and that brain science is even more fledgling.

  • The acknowledgement of the array of possible answers to such a question so misleadingly put as "does God exist?" is by no means "logically inconsistent". It is logically inconsistent to give scientific affirmations that God does not exist when the very concept of God places the discourse in an independent and abstract conceptual realm.

  • a further point, one of the central maxims of empiricism is that: if you can observe something's effects then you can say it exists.

Apply that to God and you cannot argue with the fact that God exists empirically, yes it is the belief in a God which we are observing the effects of, but the concept of a God is intellectually indestrcutable. There is nothing irrational in acknowledgeing the limits of our own knowledge.

There are many questions science cannot at the moment answer. neversaynever!!

  • The central maxim you are referring to is more subtle: If you can observe something effects, then you can say that those effects exist.

Which concept of a god is intellectually indestructible? All of them? One of them? Do you have a new one?

  • How can you assure me that Henry VIII's nose wavelength is not blue, scientifically speaking? You went from saying science cannot offer 100% certainties (very true) to assuring me something is imposible, which is an obvious contradiction.

I have no new concept of God, but God may be one or more of the above: creator/instigator, intervener, final destination, evil genius, benevolent aunty, the very fabric of space/time/matter MAYBE the essence of God!

  • The point was to show that there are statements that one can make which are internally inconsistent. The definitions of the words and the way in which I used them render the statement illogical; and thus it can be dismissed as a non-nonsensical claim. This is not science, it is logical reasoning. It is the same as asking me to point to the centre of the universe.

Your wide and varied concept of the meaning of the word god allows for you to dodge any attempt at being pinned down on specifics.

  • What observed phenomenon (other than your personal psychological desire) is it that requires the postulation of one or more of your listed hypothesises? How how would one go about showing that this phenomenon indeed requires such an entity?

What is the point of your god? And again, how is your specific concept of it intellectually sound?

  • Precisely! God is an indestructable concept.

  • They fake NDE'RS were just trying to make money, through few bucks at the door(ticket sales) and books that they printed up. Kind of sad i think.

  • Yea Nicksblog, me too, there were nde'rs who were caught lying like 1 or 2 years ago in somewhere either cali or nevada nde convention center. they claimed they died at a certain date but, when nde investigators found out they never were at the hospital that date. When asked at the convention why isnt there a record of them. They didnt know what to say.

  • I don't know what it is, because I generally believe most of these NDE's, but for some reason she does not feel believable to me. I think she is the woman on the TLC special airing tonight at 8...looked like her on the previews.

  • What a wonderful account of an NDE. Explaining away an NDE by using our limited understanding of body chemistry can sap the joy and wonder out of a truly incredible, exciting, meaningful adventure that awaits us all. I beleive that NDE's can transform us if we're are willing to explore the knowledge and joy of unconditional love hinted at in NDE's - offered to us by life/god.

  • Alot of people that have near death experiences or have a "spiritual" experience is due to a large amount of DMT in your body being released. It is occurs alot when your in heavy REM sleep which is the reason dreams happen. DMT is a chemical compound that is found in the body @ the 45th day of conception(roughly) it's found in many plants/animals and has been linked to the belief of the 3rd eye or all knowing.

  • there are a few NDE's where certain outside "knowledge" of events not even in the hospital is known by the person who has no brain activity. Forget the data about where they went, lets focus on the data that suggests that they "know" things they really shouldn't be able to "know."

  • More people should do psychedelics... Hearing about Near death experiences isn't near as impressive after you've done dmt or mescaline or lsd or psylocibin, etc...

All of these NDE's sound exactly like they are describing a peak psychoactive experience.

You are chemistry people, there is no god.

  • the reason for people having near death experiences is because of DMT. its naturally produced by the pineal gland in your brain. they have done research and it creates the visual parts of your dreams while you are sleeping. this is why sometimes you have dreams that feel almost real. they have also done research on when you die and when you are close to dying and found that the pineal gland excretes mass amounts of DMT into your brain before you die, giving you a NDE. so you are correct.

  • Thats just one explanation for it. There are many other theories and takes on this phenomenon.

  • Come come now, I'm glad you aren't being naive about the supernatural, but intellectual honesty should be your primary concern when engaging in public discourse.

Almost all of what you stated as a matter of fact, is actually speculation.

It is almost certain that DMT plays a major role in dreaming and in NDE's, but the science has not yet been done.

  • @starguts wow starguts, please share with us the source of your ultimate truth of there being no god, you being all knowing?

to say you KNOW there is no God is the most arrogant thing a person can say, plus it is impossible for you to falsify God's existence
