  • black peas too.

  • happy bonfire night to Britain!

  • CORRECTION: "Across the United Kingdom" is wrong. Northern Ireland does not celebrate Bonfire Night on November 5th. We have our Fireworks Night on Halloween Night, 31 October. (Northern Ireland has its own Bonfire Night on July 12th, which has nothing to do with Guy Fawkes.)

  • Remember, remember, the Fifth of November, the gunpowder treason and plot…

I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot…

  • You have some really nice boo.. i mean eyes!

  • I love you! ^_^

  • Slow down. I'm English and having problems understanding you.

  • If you spoke a bit slower I could use this in my English class at school. But good information.

  • No idiot has said "Tits or GTFO" at this vid?

  • my bone is in fire

  • Hey Molly, great vids gotta say I realy like em! All of em are intrieging and inspirational. I also want to say ignore those people who dont take your work seriously, and keep up the good work!

  • our bonfire night is far better 15th august

  • never seen an atlas where Britain is at the left and not in the middle. looks weird lol

  • @HailToTheSkunk It does, the reason UK IS in the middle of course is because of the Prime Meridian. Good old blighty!

  • So...I couldn't comment on another video. Whyyyy?

  • Bonfire comes from the word Bondfire.

  • Hi,

Thanks for this video. I'm teaching English and I was looking all over the internet to find a short, clear video on Guy Fawkes and November 5.

    Great job!

  • I love how I never know what exactly what I would learn while checking out Molly's vids. Thanks Molly, you are a joy.

  • What a morbid holiday.

  • @maksphoto78 No holiday I'm afraid, just a festival. NO TIME OFF WORK. Unless it is at the weekend, and you don't work on a weekend.

  • SNOW!!!!!!

  • The Palace of Westminster was almost entirely destroyed by fire in 1834 and was reconstructed to a different design, so you are incorrect to show a photo of the current palace when trying to explain the the story of Guy Fawkes. Do your research.

  • v for vendetta is such an awsome movie

  • @lillesuper COMIC! IT WAS A COMIC FIRST!

  • eum ok....

  • Anons.... ruining conspiracy plot since November 5th 1905.....

  • would have been epic lulz..... too bad for anonnyous

  • @adwastaken wtf are black peas?

  • suckle me!

  • why??

  • history class?

  • looking quite like Scarlett Johansson here

  • Would his name be pronounced "Gee" (hard "g" and long "e") as "Guy" is a French name...?

  • "more anti-climactic"? lol.

  • shes beautiful

  • no u

  • hung drawn then quarted and haveing your body parts berryed in seprate places , did like that dude ,, god rest his sole ,,,

  • If I'm not mistaken, he jumped off the scaffold so that the rope broke his neck, which meant that he died pretty quickly without having to go through the nastier parts of the execution. It could just be a myth though.

  • one things for shore ,they wanted him dead ,,,

  • Molly , I could watch you doing anything. You're awesome!

  • Down with monarchies!!! Just make this place a democracy, not a republic. Look how the Galactic Republic detoriated...

  • Comment removed

  • guy fawkes had the right idea, we dont need a monachy, all they are, are money wasting, novely, tourist attractions, and only give ammuntion against us to the thick americans who thing all english people are the strerio type and dead posh. Well were not!!!

  • actually, guy fawkes, if i remember my boring history lessons correctly, wanted to restore catholicism in england under a catholic king, i forget the specifics, but he was hoping that bombing parliament and the monarchy, they would be replaced with a catholic one AND i learned that in england...i'm american, dont worry, i dispel the myths to my friends about english ppl, we all know u're not posh and whatnot, we just like playing up stereotypes!

  • Down with the King!

  • Cool tradition, I'm American so neat to learn about... over here, guy fawks masks are worn every month by people raiding the church of Scientology. Makes a bit more sense why they do that now.

  • @DrinkElectrolytes

Ye Its a Really Cool Day!

Me and my family buy fireworks and shoot them of in my back garden :D

  • Molly, stop being so hawt, mmk?

  • "Hanged, drawn and quartered"

    LOL, me english no good.....

  • Actually when used to address a person, "hanged" is the correct usage. Hung is only used when describing inanimate objects such as clothing.

  • I actually made a bonfire yesterday, but I didn't know any of this.

  • Im gonna kill myself cuz i realized im gay

  • That's exactly what you should do!

  • I know....

  • this guy shows compassion but it bites him in the ass and kills him in the end. dumbass. if you're gonna blow up a church don't warn anyone.

  • 8,000th view! XD.....god i love rocketboom!

  • i think Guy Fawkes is cool =]

  • I never even knew about this until last year I made friends with an couple of British dudes and we celebrated it last year, it was awesome.

  • VENDETTA.

  • God, I completely forgot about Guy Fawkes Day yesterday!!!!

  • if they would have pulled that shit off it would have been epic

  • Hey Rocketboom, I think you have shown a picture of French "quartering", where horses pull the limbs from the convict, instead of the English punishment, which is disembowelment and emasculation before beheading and then quartering the body.

  • aye brits, yur doin it wrong.

  • Oh man they water-boarded him!

  • hmm, I always thought the effigy was of the pope not of guy.

  • lol

  • I didn't realise Americans even knew about bonfire night :D

  • Americans know everything!! Well, not quite. But most of the people I know do know at least a bit of foreign culture. :p

  • I did not know about any of this. Good show, Molly :)

  • November 5th should be remembered especially by politicians who would attempt to discriminate against members of any particular religion, or violate any particular individual natural right.

I hope that politicians do not feel secure or safe. I hope they continue to fear the people.

When the people fear their govt, there is tyranny.

When the govt fears the people, there is liberty.

  • Freedom is Slavery

    War is peace

    Ignorance is Strength

Well, for the government that is.

  • always learning at rocketboom :) i love this channel its fun yet informative im spreading the new about rocket boom! yea! lolol remember remember the 5th of november

  • you celebrate that guy fawkes was barbarically tortured to death

    you should be ashamed

  • He tried to blow up a giant room full of people x_x, I believe they're celebrating that an attempt to commit mass-murder was thwarted... not that some guy got tortured to death.

  • thats wrong i think we celebrate because guy fawkes was the first and only man to go in to parlimant with good honest intentions

  • LOL! My mistake.

  • @mastercheifishere Fair enough but back then Politicians cared about the Country a lot more than they do now I happily see our Government now be blown up but god knows how much if guy Fawkes had achieved his aim of wiping out the Government and our head of state our history would of being changed probably for the worst

  • I actually didn't know about this tradition, Molly! Thanks!

  • Your vids are SOOO much fun to watch. Informative, interesting, funny.. well written and .. let`s face it.. you are as cute as a... (hmmm if I say button I`ll sound like my mom) kitten!! (hmmm not much better?!)

  • i only know this because of V for Vendetta

  • to be fair. unless your British. that's probably excusable

    ...i suppose

  • Remember remember the fifth of November.

  • why is it not HD (Question mark) É

  • I like the way you say,

"Remember remember the fifth of November

    Gunpowder, treason and plot.

I see no reason why gunpowder, treason

    Should ever be forgot..."

    (It's so very English.)

    watch?v=chqi8m4CEEY

  • V for Vendetta is SO AMAZING!

  • Today's my birthday! I think it's soooo cool that I was born on Guy Fawkes day! ^^ Sorry... Just felt like I had to let you know...

  • Happy Birthday! Mine was two days ago!

  • Thank you! Happy belated Birthday!!

  • Molly I just have to say.. your AWESOME!

  • hardcore

  • oh man, now I wanna go and watch v for vendetta lol

  • god i love that movie...

  • No Popery!

  • im so british i shit trains

  • this is brilliant

  • shh /b/tard

  • question: we know the did it, when they did it, and to whom... but why? is it some religious thing?

  • @Montork Well try to guess :P molly actually even said it... He was a English Catholic (numer of catholics then were extremely low and the one who stayed were actually hated by all the others).

catholics love the pope - The pope hate protestants - catholics hate protestants, therefore - British king, parliament and aristocracy are protestans... And they all have gathered in one place... So... :p

  • @amebchen ohhh ok i know nothing about the various religions, these are different branches of christianity right? love thy neighbor, do not steal, do not kill, all that?

  • You're kidding, right? ^^

  • no.. i live in canada, my parents raised us with good moral values... but as atheists its a bitt different for us the religions are around us we just dont pay them much attention. we know of them vaguely but it all seems like a waste of time.

  • Great Fawking history lesson!

  • Wow! Way to hold a grudge!

  • oi! still wanna know. what`s yo numba? (fucking love the expression... hope that it becames a meme... like: " What`s yo numba fuck face!"; not you Molly, i could never offend such a lovely french girl)

  • French?

    Ahahahaha!

  • more titz from da lady plz it'z borin

  • They showed a picture of water boarding for Fawks torture

  • It would of been hot oil back then.

  • Good job Guy Fawkes. Sorry you had to be tortured and killed though...

  • is molly British or Australian?

  • British. Far above average! ;)

  • The former

  • You can't tell by her accent?

  • british!

  • what`s yo numba?

  • I wish to see the Catholic church burn to the ground so badly now.....A man can dream though!

    Great video,

  • hahahh English too scared to have a real Halloween.

  • actually they do celebrate Halloween on the 31st just like you buggers

  • The British celebrate Halloween. This is more like the 4th of July.

  • Lol, Toys'r'us invented Halloween as you know it!!

    We europeans have all-saints-night.

    Plastic < Tradition

  • we have halloween - all my birthday parties as a kid were halloween themed! it's not as big and commercial in england.

  • Thank you so much. Your videos are often the highlight of my days.

  • We will get Westminster yet.

  • nice they got her back, she is the hottest chick ever

  • fun.

  • i just got my guy fawkes mask today

  • Did she say something?

  • So Molly , in essence what your saying is, a celebration of the execution of Catholics and thus by extension an ever and continues reminder oppression of and failure of Catholicism in a Protestant country ( or rather COE). I've never really understood the use of Guy as a revolutionary figure.

  • catholicism came and went, i'm catholic and i like bonfire night, my dad's protestant, it's more about winning a victory over a terrorist rather than a catholic.

  • A catholic terrorist. How long ago was this?

  • haha. Instead of Alalalalah they yet godododododod!

  • I was thinking more like the Irish Republican Army

  • well.. nowadays it's more about pretty sparks.

  • lay off the sparks fat ass

  • shivers

  • V for vendetta that was one of my fav movies of that year nice to learn the history be hind that poem thx molly

  • Remember remember...

  • @2xCuttlefish ... the 5th of November.

I had to add to it :D

  • löl

  • impeccable research as usual!

  • baked potatoes looked delicious!

  • I heard that Guy Fawkes was an anonymous internet poster with a disturbing fetish for underage girls...

I may be getting my facts mixed up...

  • omfg! This was marked as spam!

    A TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE!

  • mollly makes history

    interesting :D

  • lol @ 0:36

  • Shoulda killed that James I, dirty plantation organising bastard

  • jeez...angry much

  • candy

  • oh my gosh molly. that is an insane holiday. haha. a celebration of a guy being tortured.....I like it....

  • well what about easter, the celebration of some guy being crucified

(although it's supose to be about him comming back from the dead a few days later)

Still many owies were involved in the event

  • Ye olde water boarding.

  • I'd like some candy.

  • It has been remarked that Guy Fawkes was the last man to enter parliament with honest intentions.

  • you can tell her tits are huge.. more cleavage please.. lmao

  • look in their channel for the video the claw...PROFIT!

  • Less Makeup.

  • It's about FREEDOM not bonfires.

Pay attention - and to not be fooled by the glamor - it's about ruthless oppression and Catholic control.

  • I thought it was about the baked potatoes.

  • happy bonfire night everyone!

  • Too bad Faukes didn't get away with it. Blow those fat cat bastards sky high.

  • i love guy fawkes day

going to fairs and lighting fireworks

    and chavs+fireworks+football= firecracker football.

epic game to play on bonfire night

  • Firecracker football.

Darwin Award candidate right here, people.

  • yeah, that doesn't sound like fun..

  • It's very sad that now in the UK more people are celebrating Halloween and less people celebrating our democracy on November 5th

  • It's all about burning catholics, isn't it?

  • I am so glad that I suscribed to this channel, I am learning so many things all the while being entertained!

  • I would support Guy fawkes... I always have a beer with my friends on this day and have a toast for freedom =)

  • Oh yeah! Americans dont celebrate bonfire night! so we do have our own holiday! Horay 4 england!!!

  • Don't worry Molly, Alan Moore and David Lloyd made sure that Guy Fawkes was avenged.

It's kind of odd and morbid to celebrate the death of somebody committing treason by burning likenesses of him to this day.

There are plenty of strange customs worldwide though. All are good for different reasons.

  • 0:18 there is something creepy with his eyes-

  • Cool

  • Wish he'd succeeded.

I quite like bonfire night but not what it symbolises. Same as most rituals in this country really.

  • guy fawkes rules!!!

  • :D Awesome! I'm studying that right now.

  • this girl is veeery cute and her voice is angelic :)

  • Little known fact, back then the "Guys" used to be filled with cats to make them scream when put on the fire.... horrific i know.... God bless Britain :P lol
