@Righteouspowered No, he said they were "self-expressive in their own way that doesn't have to be synchronous WITH EVERYONE ELSE," I guess meaning the other artists outside of the the P-Funk collective. I don't think he would have to be off if he meant it how you took it anyway because after all, the concept of funk is contradictive in a way if you think about it. George said it's "the combination of hanging loose and togetherness at the same time." Being both tight AND loose.
