@coolnad BAHAHAHA! Didn't you just accuse me of being a "FAG" and a Navy man in another video? No, I'm not in the navy or gay. But you claim to be in the navy. So, if Navy=Gay, is there something you're not admitting to yourself?
this is an embarasment, these subs should be shelved. Imho, the RCN should cut it's loses and put in place the process to design and build nuclear subs. Now that
canada has comited 33 billion to shipbuilding, I am confident that this dream may come true.
@TheSpyro94 designing and building a sub is in a whole new league then building a ship. But i do agree the subs are a fucking joke... fuck the liberals in their piece of shit buy. If we were going non nuke then why did they not buy the German or Swedish subs with AIP.....
@TheSpyro94 the voters would not support the billions it takes to create a sub. Australia had huge issues with their subs when they started building them.
We could but the hippie voters would not allow it.
@Baseshocks I dont really believe that "hippie vote" argument. If those bleeding hearts really informed them selves on the state of Canada's navy, they would not be too proud.
Besides, a goverment with a majority could set such a project in motion.
@TheSpyro94 I am a enthusiast and have read up enough on subs to understand their importance. It takes a combined effort of a fleet of ships to hunt one sub.. one sub can stop aircraft carrier groups. The cost, manning and maintenance of one sub far out weights the amount of surface ships it can put in disarray just by its presence. I also live in Toronto, a good many people here are idiots when it comes to military purchases, they just want the cheapest of whats on the market..
@Baseshocks i live in montreal, the home of the canadian pacifist. It's an understanble position, most people equate militairy hardware to war. Being a warmonger dosent get a country very far. On the other hand, building up a militairy is like an individule working to build muscle. Does not mean he's going to punch the next person on the street.
@DCFunBud Nope. Fire at sea, 1 Officer dead from smoke inhalation, a Lt(N). Sub was crippled but not sunk. This is an example of the moronic way Liberals run the Armed Forces! (Into the fucking ground)! We should have purchased NEW subs, not these clunkers! Germans make good subs, so do the Swedes and Norwegians. US only makes nukes I think, so no chance there. These subs have NO WEAPONS?!?! Great, subs incapable of firing torpedos, how quintessentially Canadian is that?!
@DCFunBud after the Canadian crew to command of it she started to sail back to Canada on the surface, before this time in Canada submarines were allowed to run with their hatches open when on the surface for fresh air. the problem was the builders cut corners and used cheap wiring so when some salt water split in it hit the wiring and caused a fire. salt water conducts electricity very well. so it caught fire.
@DCFunBud i know, too bad our cheap shit government did not go with brand new. them Swedish and German subs are best diesel electric subs on the plant. from what i read the Swiss created the AIP system. During war games the Swiss kept on sinking U.S carriers. the U.S went ape shit demanding the Swiss show them how they did it. With the AIP system on they can turn their diesel generators off, with them off they turn super quite. diesel subs stealthier the nuke subs. ill shut up now :D.
@DCFunBud after that point the Canadian government decided to gut all the subs and replace all the wiring adding new crap to it, its been a very slow process. part of the reason why the British retired the upholder class was cause it was too complex to refit etc.. the liberal government was too cheap to buy British torpedoes also reconfiguring the torpedo tubes/launch controls, they were also too cheap to buy the harpoon system it had, but maybe to space that JTF2 operators can use.
@DCFunBud when these subs are ready they will be among the best in the world, another prob is that they do not have sonar go figure, im sure if the conservatives stay in power they will add it later on when all are refit. also theirs talks to add the Air-independent propulsion (AIP) system, they can patrol under the ice with it. and most importantly our techs have also relearned to refit subs, a skill that was lost for a time.
I have to admit, it was stupid for us Canucks to buy these, but it was even more stupid for our British friends to sell them to us without consultation. Embarrasing when your so called allies let you down. This would never have washed back in WW2 when the US, Britain, and Canada were the closest of friends.
@coolnad my brain tells me not too believe, but my gut says YES! Frontnac, know thats a name I can get behind.

@Baseshocks Thanks for the history. Submarines are so dangerous. It's the one vessel you don't want take chances with.
