The first time I heard Pearl Jam perform this song was Sept. of '98 in Columbia, MD (Merriweather). Awesome show, Ben Harper opened. Soon after that the song became a hit for them.
i have yet to see Pearl Jam, i live in md, not far for merriweather, but will be there this sat, nite for Three doors down concert, love this version from pearl,im 52 and love music, no matter what genre, and love that my daughter who is 23 shares the love of music, and get to spend time at concerts together
never heard the beatles singing this song!!that's a lieª!

I'm pretty sure this song was originally made by a spanish band called Los Doltros and then Pearl Jam practically translated the lyrics.
Same meaning.
Different language.

Why did they choose to redo this classic song?
More of todays artists' should revive old classics from the fifties and sixties.
