  • you define greed as something that makes us want more than we need to live. In other words, if someone is barely alive, then they're not greedy. If you look in the world, how many things are barely alive?

  • This kung fu is great.

  • It's a shame that many others cannot or refuse to see the wonder in the dilemma of their own existence.

Not that I feel supreme at all, (because clearly I am not), only different.

    :D*

  • I like Kung fu movie very much. thank you

  • CHARLEMAGNE FROM BELGIUM CAUSED ISRAELITES TO SPREAD INTO THE WHITE RACE WAYS OF LIFE AND THE ISRAELITES TOOK THE MAJORITY OF VOTES AND OUR DANISH NORSE, ENGLISH DRUID, GREEK AND ROMAN HELLENISTIC AND RUSSIAN SHAMANIC WAY OF LIFE ENDED GIVING RISE TO THE CRUSADES : (

THE VATICAN HAS PREACHED AGAINST THE WHITE RACE NATIVE WAY OF LIFE : (

  • @ukgreaterlondon "THE VATICAN HAS PREACHED AGAINST THE WHITE RACE NATIVE WAY OF LIFE"

I'm pretty sure the Vatican preaches against just about everything... even things they used to advocate. They used to preach against abstinence because it went against their god's command to "be fruitful and multiply", and nowadays they're preaching for abstinence! They weave a tangled web.

  • @Mystrymeat the european colonists all hassled non white races all because the vatican has ended the white race native ways of life that we have got back in recent ages and the western way of life has lasted longer than the vatican way of life.

the roman empire created the christian religion and josephus wrote it all down to create the new testament. the so called hellenistic roman empire behaved similar to early christians, early christians is now the european union location.

    vatican=evil

  • CHINA, INDIA AND MOST OF AFRICA ARE COMMUNIST DUE TO THE EUROPEAN COLONISTS IN THE 19TH CENTURY DOING WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THEIR HOLY BIBLE, OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT : (

THE VATICAN HAS PREACHED AGAINST THE WHITE RACE NATIVE WAY OF LIFE BECAUSE THE VATICAN HAS A HIGH POPULATION OF ISRAELITES LIVING IN ITALY ALL BECAUSE CONSTANTINE INVITED THEM AND THE ISRAELITES TOOK CONTROL OF THE ROMAN VOTES AND HELLENISM DIED IN ROME AND GREECE.

  • GERMANIA SUPERIOR FIGHTING THE ROMAN EMPIRE IS SIMILAR WITH THE BRITISH FIGHTING EIGHTY PERCENT OF HUMANITIES POPULATION? ; )

  • I love how the kung fu guy would always come in peace, in all the towns he visits, but at the end of the show, he ends up beating the crap out of the whole city...

  • @Dan4USCTroy : Not necessarly the whole city or town. . . but damn sure close enough, and most of the time not with fists or kicks. . . LOL!

  • words to live by and is that a young david Carridine ?

  • @TaoFAQ Thank you for your words of wisdom

  • @iluvm16 Thank you! Nonetheless wisdom ia always relative. Others may see my words as that of a fool, and that's OK too. (Alias TaoFAQ)

  • @TaoFAQ It seems that the monkey in the parable was ignorant more so than forceful. He was sincere, but sincerely wrong. However, I believe everyone needs a "Master" in their life to give guidance, just as Caine did in the clip. I believe people our put in our path for such a purpose.

  • @iluvm16 Indeed. And may we all live with Compassion, Moderation and Humility.

  • @TaoFAQ But how can we create evil within ourselves that way? Do we not have a moral obligation to help our fellow man avoid pitfalls that may lead to bad behavior? Sometimes people can't see they're making bad choices in life and need some sort of guidance from friends or family.

  • @iluvm16 We should always act with compassion. However we must never use force. Often what appears as an act of compassion, has later been found to be based on ego & ignorance. Alan Watts explained it this way, "'Kindly let me help you or you will drown', said the monkey to the fish as he placed him safely up a tree". I guess the moral of the story is this: We should never assume we know what is right or best for another. Each being must be free to chose their own Path.

  • @TaoFAQ so very true!!! you're very wise, I like your thinking!

  • Wait...so does this mean we should accept people's behavior whether good or evil?

  • @iluvm16 I think it's more about the avoidance of evil. Quite often evil is created within ourselves by trying to prevent the evil in others. (Alais YinYangNature)

  • Wait.... So does this mean that we should accept people's behavior whether good or evil?

  • Good information, love it:)

  • I wish I had a Master Po in my life; I know he's a fictional character but he is such a great and inspirational character. I watch all these videos from time to time to remind myself of their simple truth.

  • @tolstoy143 If you are looking for someone to in part wisdom onto you, you may like to try listening to audio of the late Alan Watts (1915 -1973). He is the English philosopher that introduced Buddhism, Taoism & Zen to the Hippies in the 1960s. I have some videos on my channel of his audio and there are hundreds of hours available on the internet for free. However, please always remember a guru's role should be to liberate you and not make you dependant on them personally.

  • @tolstoy143 I've always liked these clips but often found them ridiculous and/or unfathomable but I only recently realised they merely exaggerate to make a point as we all do from time to time. For instance I expect it's impossible for someone to judge where a sword is merely from the sound of it's movement, at least quickly enough to dodge it but the general point is we can find solutions to problems by using different approaches from normal routes or by merely thinking differently.

  • Does anyone out there know if the writers added EASTERN PHILOSOPHY to the dialogue of the show??>. Or is it just PURE HOLLYWOOD dribble..

  • @flyby7a Yes, Eastern Philosophy was incorporated into the dialogue, particularly Taoism.

  • @flyby7a ...it is true Asian philosophy. The program drew many of it's quotations from the Tao Te Ching, the primary text of Taoist philosophy.

  • I wonder if, when they were producing the "Kung Fu" series, they knew how true these things were...

  • @ricks1019 They sure were. This series was produced just after the 1960s hippy era, when people like Alan Watts had introduced an entire generation to words such as Tao, Te, Zen, Wu Wei, Yin-Yang & Ziran for the very first time.

  • Beautiful stuff, but did he drink the liquor?

  • @Wolvenfire86 No he didn't. You can watch the entire episode on the Youtube channel "girlfromrio".

  • @Wolvenfire86 Don't know about the hootch, but I wanted to see Cane kick a mudhole in him just like McGarrett did when that jerk was spreading Pneumonic Plague around Honolulu...Guess he kicked him all the way back to the Mainland!

  • @chefpetey lol....or like ROADHOUSE!

  • i love asian philosophy, so much.<3

  • Sun & Cloud Shadow is the thing as the two face of one coin

  • he NEVER drank alcohol as fas as I recall in this series. he ALWAYS asked for WATER and if available TEA. nothing else.

  • wonder what would have happened if bruce lee got the part of Caine?

  • This program changed my life.

  • Caine is true to his teaching at all cost

  • i say he didn't drink it. he respects the cowboys right to drink and get drunk, but his self respect, not to drink comes first.

    "respect first, your own."(ways)

then he wooped everyones ass and drank his tea. i can't remember what really happened but thats my guess.

  • I've seen this when they used to show the reruns. Caine always had to whoop ass, hard as he tried not to. But first he'd have the flashback with the teachings and the master, just so that you'd know he'd given it some thought. Without the ass whooping, the show would have been canceled after the first week.

  • David you were so gentle and kind to us when you were living here in Toronto,Canada.

You said it was 'like my second home.'

Will we always welcome you then, now and beyond.

    Rest well sweet one.

Gemma and the entire film crew.

    XO

  • so did he drink it ???

  • You will have to hire out to DVD to find out. ;-)

  • respect first, your own...respect does not mean put first, it means respect...place value...it is helpful to think this way

  • Rest in Peacce David Carradine.

  • RIP David Carradine. I pray your soul will be at rest

  • Do we see greed displayed in other animals?

Do we see a tiger killing for sport?

Do we see birds consuming so much that it has a detrimental affect on the environment?

Our greed is slowly destroying the very planet that sustains us, so how can it be good or part of our true nature?

  • If you define greed as acting solely for one's own benefit, then yes, all animals without exception are greedy. All animals including humans must act in their own self-interest. If they ceased to do so, they would cease surviving as a species.

Consuming beyond one's means is decadence, which is not the same as greed. Decadence is not part of man's nature since it hinders rather than helps survival, and therefore also goes against the Dao as well.

  • Pehaps you have become confused with understanding Greed, and understanding egoic necessity. Greed makes us want more than we need to live; basic egoic necessity drives us to gain the essentials we need to survive. Egoic necessity at a basic level can be in harmony with the Dao. Bobba is completely correct. Greed takes more than it needs from nature; egoic necessity is given what it needs and takes no more. This is my own limited understanding anyway.

  • you define greed as something that makes us want more than we need to live. In other words, if someone is barely alive, then they're not greedy. If you look in the world, how many things are barely alive? Is it good to be barely alive? is it enjoyable? Why do you make it sound so honorable to be barely alive? I think it's honorable for someone to be fully aligned with their goal, greed is good because it drives you to do good things. thinking greed is back is hurting your own cause. think.

  • It is possible to live well without either sacrifice or greed my friend. This is called "Moderation" by the ancient Taoists and the "Middle Way" by the Buddhists and it is probably the most important lesson in Eastern philosophy. Extremes either way are always wrong, it's always somewhere in the middle that is correct.

    Namaste.

  • Excellent advice on moderation, I agree 100%. :-)

  • Thank you!

  • I'm afraid that you argue with fallacies, bookguy12000: Jumping from 'more than we need to live' to 'barely alive' is rather an over exaggeration. Where is a stable link between the two; and where did I suggest that barely living was good? When I said egoic necessity is given what it needs and takes no more, this disproves your idea of 'barely living' because to be given what you need is to be kept alive in a healthy and content way, not barely living. I didn't say 'given barely what you need.

  • Greed isn't the same thing as self-preservation. It means taking more than one really needs or deserves. In the natural world, a predator who kills too much prey will starve when the preyed-on population runs low or dies out. Greed goes against the balance of nature, so through natural selection, greed is checked. But humanity's insatiable greed is dangerous because if we don't stop it, we put at risk not only our own survival but possibly the survival of the global ecosystem itself.

  • so if we give u examples of the things you listed above, then we would prove by your standards that nature is greedy, correct?

  • Human is not enough Selfishness kills human Seconds by seconds We want to out of nature that's false I agree u YinYangnature

  • You don't make any sense, greed is not a word used to describe what you have said, if you change the meaning of a word it doesn't change the damage of a mans action.

  • what happened next, I wanted to see kwai chang kicking butt

  • does anyone know where i can find the full episodes?

  • The Kung Fu series was recently released on DVD, so try your local video store.

  • Beautiful post. All of your posts are wonderful.
