FACT: One out of every five people in the U.S. believe that the sun orbits the earth. (20%) As a nation of monkeys how will we ever change to clean energy solutions?
The problem with solar cells today is that they are really inefficient. The most efficient panels today only capture around 30% or so of the sun's rays energy at a hefty price, the rest is given off as excess heat. They are not cheap is another problem. Don't expect heavy use until we can develop more efficient ways(Not to mention cheaper). From what I have heard, only the visible spectrum of the sun's rays is captured.
the efficency doesn´t play a role at all. if you see the numbers mentioned in that film, it´s more than 10,000 times more energy than mankind needs in the same time ! i think we have more free areas to use solarenergy than we will ever need for a full supply !
it´s the price which decides about the use. pv is the multi-billion $ market in the future...
Its Joseph Kahn. He made uncountable many clips for bands like Mboy, U2, George Michael, BLink 182 etc etc...
And he also made the Ice Cube movie Torque.
I Know this, because I made an internship at the filmproduction "Film Deluxe" in Berlin, Germany, when they created this spot. The city is Los Angeles, the photo voltaik field is in Germany, actually. I could tell you, how much it costed, but thats confidential, I guess.
I have to agree with the page in saying best commercial ever and of all times, strange though. its not perpeptualy looped like battery commercials of that rabbit, or the filler up commercials by the powers who are trying always to be.
And i have never seen this ever while liveing in the States, Who knows? i sure as hell have a clue.
Someone just used this video in a solar energy scientific presentation. I would suggest that you include the name of the company so that it is a bit easier to find..
yeah ... and tells the true
