@jdstodden have you skated them...? Once you skate them the bushings will begin to bulge out and crack and the trucks will not turn properly. There is a whole article online talking about it and how the trucks are designed improperly; which is what causes this problem.. I've had 4 friends who have had the same problem as me with theirs, and many people online with the same problem too; but we actually skate.. One of my friends actually broke both trucks.. :/ D2 all the way!
@TheSouthernChoctaw you mean they spin longer out of the box? i know that shorty's black panther bearings ROLL very SMOOOOTH compared to Bones Reds, but they don't LAST very long. I've never had Destructo bearings before, but my Bones Super Swiss 6 bearings have lasted be over 1.5 years, thus far.. And they free-spin longer when they're dry (they come oiled brand new, so they don't free-spin very long, but that's a GOOD thing.)
@the540hardlip No doubt. I still have both sets used in this video, and they're both riding great. I have chose to only ride the Swiss 6 because I can't tell a difference in the way they ride or last, and they're easier to clean with half the amount of shields to remove when cleaning, and they're cheaper. Supposedly they're supposed to be stronger too, but that's not really a problem with either of these bearing sets. Peace!
Actually, bigger and heavier wheels means it takes more force to overcome their inertia. That also means it takes MORE inertia to stop them. You just gotta find a setup that works.
@LadiesMan217507 Free-spinning longer does NOT mean they spin as fast or long when actually rolling. I'm STILL riding this set of Bones Swiss, and they're still FASTER and smoother than Bones Reds. Bones Reds SUCK compared to these. These are just properly lubed, so they don't free-spin as long; which doesn't really matter to me, cos I actually RIDE the board.. Over time, they do get dryer, so they DO free-spin longer and faster, but that doesn't make them faster or better than out-of-the-box.
@LadiesMan217507 he didn't break it in yet....my super swiss 6 lasts 4 minutes exact! and when ever you clean them it goes back down to around 12 to 20 seconds
@KruxilliMux Obviously you're nothing but a troll, and you didn't read my 'description' where it said, "I only did this out of boredom and curiosity."
@KruxilliMux wait, you said he needed bigger wheels because those are too small and too HEAVY. correct me if im wrong but bigger wheels means heavier wheels
@planbsk8er567 Nope. There are about 3-4 design flaws with Theeves. I skated on the stock Bones med bushings for 2 mins and they pop out, like my friend's v.1 TiAX.. So I put my used Bones med bushings from my last set of Destructos D2 Pro trucks in the Theeves; which turned amazing in the Destructos (and were broke in), and they turned as bad in the stock Bones med bushings from the Theeves - and popped out with one push/ride. Bones soft bushings did the same things, but turned nicer in Theeves
@planbsk8er567 So you think it's just the non-TiH versions that have the bushing issues? I think the TiH looks interesting, but I haven't been able to see one in person. Unless those trucks lasted ~4-5 years of hard grinding, and never bent / broke; I'd probably never spend that much on them.. Even if they lasted that long, it would be cheaper to buy two sets of Destructos; which would last that long, and cost less. :/ I like the Theeve concept, but the issues have really got me not liking them.
@planbsk8er567 Basically, the Bones med and soft bushings turn more correctly in the Destructo D2 Pro trucks; while they're squished on the sides when turning in Theeve trucks. Too much resistance. Also, Theeve trucks don't have enough lip on the hanger, where the bushing that touches the baseplate sits, so they pop out. I also believe there is a angle to the truck that forces the bushings to pop out more; which needs changed. Also, they have huge quality control issues.
@planbsk8er567 Search and watch this video on YouTube: "Theeve TiH Trucks Review (Defective Axel)" to see what I mean about quality control.
My friend's pair had flaws, mine had flaws, that YouTube guy's had flaws, three people from the SW forums had flaws that they showed pics of, and a few others on random sites had flaws. I have not met one person who has not had problems with them -- I just hear people online who can't do much on a board review them, mostly before they even skate them hard.
i inline speed skate and had to purchase 16 bearings- decided on swiss 6 and still breaking them in- fast out of the box but continue to get faster as they say?- cheapest ay skatewarehouse-tlight u are right on
@XjayyyX I might do a review on here about the Theeves, once I get to skate them.
Right now, out of the box, they're a very tight truck. My Destructo D2 (Pro) trucks are a lot more loose/free turning, and they use the same bushings. I ordered some Soft Bones bushings, so hopefully they will fix the tightness issue with these Theeves.
As it stands, I think Theeves have the potential to be great, but they need a few more updates to the design.
Just got the same trucks today they are way better then my destructo trucks and thinking about ordering super reds

@bradwjensen agreed. it's a much smoother pace when i ride the swiss instead of reds. i have to push much more when skating reds.
