  • dont care what anyone says , you did a an amazing job on this solo well done ..10+

  • Nice lesson mate. Cheers !

  • I hate u Lol ^-^ i can't play this

  • Bends are off a bit, but sounds good, good lesson

  • how long did you learn that? very good... I'm trying this but damn... its hard to feel that for me :D you know all that timing.. one short note, one longer.... greetings

  • the second part is tough, but great video man

  • great help thanks buddy shine on!!!! oh by the way i have met david gilmour.... =)))))

  • i just need the follow along 2:50

  • xaxa kirk guitar

  • What setting do you have your amp ?

  • luv'n the skull guitar :)

  • :DD speachless :DD

  • Awesome, thanks.

  • Great video.

I thought this would be easier. I can even almost get the sweet child o mine solo , but this one is impossible for me.

  • thanks dude!!!

  • @wattsimus actually that must be the top rated comment :D

  • you also have a fender with you dont you...??? reflected its headstock on your guitar...

  • nice guitar...nice techniques and nice songs...who are you again....KING.... PERFECT....!!

  • you are the shit man

  • a very gud lesson....thnx dude!!!btw wat effects do u use to play dis song???

  • How do you get the guitar tones, do you work them out yourself?

  • My friend you are very good. Im playing Pink F.

  • Thanks a lot! I also had the wrong notion that this solo is beyond me, but now I play it pretty much close to the original. If by any chance you like the smiths, I would really appreciate the intro for "this charming man" by Jonny Mahr- my favorite guitarist..

  • Thank you so much for your lesson. It looked almost impossible for me to pull off this solo as I started playing only 2 months ago. But your lesson gives me hope for the future. At least at this point, I can play the solo slightly slower than the slow motion :) But I get the feeling. Again thanx, I appreciate your time.

  • Some of your bends are sharp/flat.

    But still great.

  • thanks man ... you are the king............... i can actually play now my favorite solo

  • 5 people cant play guitar for shit XD

  • @coreypearson4 actually this lesson starts with a really bad bending.

the third note of a tutorial video with an out of tune bending

i like the solo, i like the tabs, i don't like the player, so i don't like the video

  • @Quilbo This chap has put time and effort into producing - by most reasonable standards - a very useful tutorial on getting to grips with a much-loved solo. Rather than being down on the effort, say nothing or offer some encouragement on the aspects of the playing you find positive. Life's too short to find fault with "the third note" - are you for real?!

  • @Quilbo U are retarded. i dont like u.

  • Can U do please a Van Halen lesson?? pleasee

  • The definite cover and lesson of this song on you tube, nobady can do it better, thank you.

  • love your lessons king

  • @1234TheKing23411 Thank you for this lesson, i really appreciate the time you took to make this video! It was very helpful!

  • I have a question...how do you get that squeaky sound at that first note on the 7th fret on G string

  • @serban277 Its pinch harmonic.

If you dont know what one is...well its hard to explain how to do it, you are best looking for a lesson. there are plenty of them.

Its pretty hard to get right at first, but after a few days it should click and you can do them at a whim. Great fun!

  • @serban277 Pinch Harmonic, hit the string with the pick and the side of your thumb finger at the same time.

  • very good

  • Thank you!!! The best video lesson

  • at 3:00 the 12 on the high E is actually 1½ step bend. props btw.. awesome solo!

  • what effects did you use?

  • The only thing that bothers me - you're not bending the 12 fret on the B string at 0:13.

    Nice job though.

  • the hardest part of david gilmore in this lead for me is keeping my up and down strokes consistant and the down ther neck desending two note pats with 1/4 bends the opisite of most players

  • i really think either goerge harison mentored david gilmore or david gilmore mentored george cause they have simular lead technics this leed is very close to let it be ,also since i play too im not gonna say your a god like some of these non players but you have a nice natural tempo i hope your in a band ive met altot of talented guitar players who were great but to afraid to play in a bands or live .i was a drummer first who played guitar 2nd nothin better than rock guitar rock aucustic too

  • for how long have you been playing guitar ?

  • just like george harison david gilmore realy took awsome advantage of the monor pentatonic scale i wonder if when pink floyd joined the beatles during the recording ng of sargent pepper if they traded licks and stuff my favorites are clapton, page and gilmore but of the 3 gilmore plays the sweetestt sounding leads though page did alot of it on the presense page also uses alot of different scales like all studio musicians they have to know them might be why every awsome zep album sounded different

  • HEY THANK you so muchi appreciate it a lot really and can u do a video of guns and roses full song plz and thank u so much

  • i broke string its to much power!!

  • This is by far the best Comfortably Numb instruction video I have found. I am very happy I have found it. King really understands how to instruct someone,.

King: thanks for this inspirational video I will work on this lesson until I can play it like you do!

I wish you had something simular for Gary Moore's Empty Rooms which is the other great solo I would like to learn.

  • Wow, nice job man! thanks

  • Some people are just naturals

  • Great tone and well done solo!

  • It looks like our great King is very busy to replay...

  • @1234TheKing123411 Roquet queen by GN'R =) There isn't any lesson on youtube

  • @1234TheKing123411

sorry, stupid question, i still can have the same sound at the start of the solo... how i can play like this 0:04 ??

  • Comment removed

  • @IamSteve96 (Unless someone's already answered this for you), he's using the 'pinch harmonic' technique, where he picks the note using the very tip of the plectrum and edge of his thumb.. It's very difficult to explain, I'm sure you can search videos for the technique on here :)

  • @PicnicRug

thanks a lot !!!! actually i' m learning this technique... but is not very simple to perform! anyway thanks and greetings fom italy!!

  • nice king ! good work bro

  • @ljones068 , lol now is more like the MP3 FILE , lool

  • that a fender strat in front of your window?

  • @jptzy lol it is, its a beginner strat and it still plays pretty well!!

  • hey can u share wit me how u learn songs? like how to catch the rhythm and stuff like tat?

  • @zhihuizeng I'm not the uploader, but one way to learn the rhythm ould be to play the notes slowly and building up speed until you can play the notes in the proper speed & rhythm.

  • @Kimekk ok thanks

  • @zhihuizeng You're welcome, I hope it helps you some!

  • excelent man, Thanks for the lesson

    5 stars ;)

  • 5 Stars

  • @ljones068 haha thank you!

  • Not meant to insult at all, but the vibrato needs to be much wider, and I think you should work on letting the vibrato actually return to the original note -- your vibrato has almost a flat tone to it because it seems you rarely let the vibrato return back to the original note (almost like you're keeping a 1/4 or 1/2 bend when you do vibrato and the flatness of the note can be noticeable).
