@jsteele07189 I don't know how much you know about the Amory Wars (The concept behind all of Coheed and Cambria's music), but there's a character named Al the Killer. He's basically batshit crazy, and has a warped perception of the world. This is both him talking to his gun (Tonight sleep tight my gun) and to another character in the story, because he has to decide if he wants to let that character leave alive.

(the lyric changes would make sense that way) or maybe he just wanted to see if it would mess with us to make another different version.

As part of the Velorium Camper series, it is about claudio and Ambelinna escaping from House Atlantic on the murderer Al the Killer's ship. Al is an ex army sniper who has an obsession with killing little white girls, and a nearly sexual obsession with his sniper rifle. This song is about his inner debate on whether or not to kill ambelinna, and his past murders, as well as Ambellina stumbling on a closet full of dead white girls.
