  • very good videos

  • hahahahaha, wonderful

  • can i apply this to a 5x5x5 matrix with the same resistors or would i need different resistors?

  • nice : )

  • Please, do not try and eat the camera..

  • If I am going to "Make a Pocket LED Cube" I know what a LED is, thanks.

  • Nerd Nails, OMG! Please cut your fuckin' nails!

  • Hello, good evening.

Let me ask you about your LED Cathode and Anode. In your layer scheme, you tell us the Anode is de DOT, but it is the negative ou posite pole?

because i've been looking at some other projects and there, they tell about the LED legs, and is wrote that the Cathode leg is the Short one....but, this one is where i ground the led, right? So it would be the Anode, isn't?

    Thanks a lot, bb

  • is it possible to do high power leds ?

  • sir is it possible to make led cube 3X3X3 using LM555 and 4020 ic's?

sir plz reply to me @ psbr.rohith@gmail.com

  • I have a comb for the third guy. HAhaha

  • Dots pointing out, crosses pointing in; classic representation of the z axis ;D

  • 3:02 Lol

  • what about 3x3x3x3=4D????

  • dude needs a haircut

  • 1:26 i thought he said "made by lady gaga"

  • half young n ginger n half old n grey

  • i love the overdub @ 2:11 "that way each layer will have 9 on it" how many did u say originally ?! ;p

  • how to make A flash led circuit?

  • I made everything! but i don't know how to program. bullshit!

  • @marcomovies97 go to instructables website ;)

  • lols they used cat 5 wiring for where the LEDs would go

  • i never made anythin, i just like to watch this =)

  • Cut. Your. Nails. Dude!

  • Dude with the fro should get dreads or braids

  • What high angle!

    should you cut them

  • DEVICE

  • seriously. what is up with number 23's hair??

  • a yellow, purple and brown resistor it's 470 Oms, not 47 Oms

  • One thing to note: you arent using multiplexing. What is shown in the video is demultiplexing. Multiplexing is when you have multiple inputs and use selector wires to chose which ones get sent through. Demultiplexing is when you have one input(power) and you use selector pins to select which of the possible outputs for the signal to travel

  • This is the reason I canceled my sub to Make: after their first year of publication. Nothing but articles on how to make the latest LED-bling-thing, how to 'camouflage' your car for an urban environment (stickers? really?), and how to make the latest kite-camera or robot out of a trash can. No practicality whatsoever, completely juvenile, and fiddling while the world goes by simply for the sake of fiddling. Waste of money, time, ink and paper. Even MAD magazine was a much better investment.

  • @peloz69 look for a kit, chances are u can find one out there that isn't too expensive and will allow you to build a very large led cube, but if your looking more along the lines of one that's a just a bit more complex i would recommend this video as a reference watch?v=JvExbDNtP0U&feature=related

  • I have a few 1x1x1 LED cubes.

  • i have the storage container

    that is all

  • You used CAT 5E Twisted pair ethernet cabling for your led "extensions" =)

  • for all of the people calling this person a nerd or a geek ill just tell you this nerds are one of the highest backbone in our society they made the plans for the computer and modem your using even your tv set so in other words dont let me catch any of you call someone a nerd again.......

  • you sound like Vera De Milo

  • Pocket!! did u realy say POCKET cube!!?? how bigs ure pocket dude???

  • 5X5X5 cube at 3:32!

  • nice vid...

  • this is what was nice to see on make magazine not the video's that are uploaded now, they're shit! a middle aged woman talking about pickles? yeah interesting

  • that guys nails are so long

  • paws @ 0:32

  • is there a way to contol everything from a computer instead of programming it.if there is can you tell me how.

  • good people...good work

  • hoola q tal...... esta muy chevere esa matriz, sabes estoy planeando hacer una..... pero quisiera q me ayudes un poco en la programación........... espero tu respuesta pronto.!!!

  • you need to explain more about the part of programming! plz

  • 3:02 Thats Alot Of Wires

  • @ sgt1337 thumbs up x 10000 

  • everyone forgets solder you need solder to solder or you wont be able to solder

  • These guys aren't real nerds...

Nerds are people who type code shit and just do what they're told and what is expected from them.

    These people are innovators :D

  • im soooo scared by some things in this video...

  • @MatthewScottB

Dude ... I am scared by the "people" in this video.

    (O_o)

  • @trollcrusher242 lol rofl

  • @MatthewScottB

    ;-)

  • how could you make a led cube with more leds?

  • Yellow Purple Brown is 470 ohm resistor...

  • Should have kept it a POV device but still used the LED matrix cube to make a 3D pov device. That would be frickin' sweeeeet!!

  • A 47ohm resistor is not "yellow purple brown" it's a yellow violet black -_-

  • @renekenshin6573 know it all..mabey he was color blind...

  • @renekenshin6573 well, obviously.

  • @renekenshin6573 violet = purple and yes i agree with the multiplier mistake, he must've meant 470ohms :)

  • @renekenshin6573 i find it hard to read some colors on resistors =s

  • @renekenshin6573 i hear fortyseven oh wicth mean 470

  • i bet you'll never be able to build a 3x3x3x3 led hypercube

    NEVER!

  • 2:10

    Is his voice dubed?

  • Comment removed

  • i love that girl

  • wouldnt it be easier to use an Arduino nano?

  • 1:51

    Watch on the background!!!

    A 5x5x5 rubik cube!!!

    I want one!!!

  • Watch on the background!!!

    A 5x5x5 rubik cube!!!

    I want one!!!

  • @Mr30friends Kipkay skips precautions and cuts corners, his builds can be extremely dangerous. Example not using a drive on a laser, if you don't know what a driver that is because you don't know how to build a laser. If you knew how to build a proper laser, kipkay would look like a welder without a welding mask.

  • @CrackSnStufF oh snaaap

  • @mkultra2300 Lol just read my post and realized I couldn't type that day.

  • 2:10... voiced over lolz

  • nerds!!!!!

  • @maestrodesipalki Nerds rule the world. Said statement is no understatement.

  • @nhorto, you don't ground layers, each layer is controlled by an I/O pin, which is then modulated to be either LOW (ground) or HIGH (Vcc). If you ground all three layers, and then say, modulate a single column of LED's to HIGH, then all 3 LED's will light up together. You would not have individual control. However, if you set ONE layer of LED's as LOW (ground) and the rest as HIGH, then when you set a single column of LED's to HIGH only one LED will light.

    Multiplexing.

  • Пиздец парни, какой хуйней вы стадаете ...

  • Just to let people know they forgot to mention to ground each layer of the cathodes

  • that was shit

  • you should put the camera closer to your face

  • sux

  • 47 ohm isn't yelloy, purple, brown.. You got a 470 ohm :)

  • @signoutdk No, it's 40 + 7 x 1

  • OK this is above me...

  • Where can i buy the needs?

  • you dudes are very smart,,I just started using the breadboard. I would like to understand this. Nice Vid.

  • R u Phineas & Ferb's Dad?

  • v goo d

  • stop at 0:32 XD

  • these guys have some hair issues

  • WOW

  • wow ilove it

i will tray to do it

  • 1:41 5x5x5 rubiks cube :D

  • RUBIKS CUBE

  • Ok someone help I still can't figure out what wires went to what leds? Where can I find this information? Please message me

  • How do u program the animation ?

And where do u put them ?

    answer please

  • BUll SHiiit

  • lol 1:22 "i wanna see that" thats what she said

  • son of bitches

  • Finger nail clippers!!

  • i usedmy pc rerial port with a few transistors

  • I made a triangle version.

  • im pretty sure that cant fit in my pocket :/

  • @NiixViidz I made custom pockets so that I could carry my pocket cube around. So far I have not gotten laid because of this despite the fact that the bulkiness of my cube makes it appear as though I have a permanent erection.

  • a 47 ohm resistor should have a yellow-purple-BLACK color code, not yellow-purple-brown. A yellow-purple-brown is 470 ohm.

  • So, Software is codeing. Do you call software Firmware when it sees a 0 it likes?

  • i can do this!! :D

  • it looks shit so I won't be doing it

  • wow that guy didn't seem to know the resistor colour code

  • 0:31 "What is a LED?"

  • they sell em way better than what you did , well you and 2 of your friends who look like you are getting payed. Um you are talking about well over 200 dollars and a degree in electronics. Like I say , they sell these for 100 bucks and I believe they are 200 LED with multi color. Dont waste your time people. 100 bucks

  • how are you subposed to fit that in your pocket?

  • 4:24 Wth is with the left guys hair?

  • I can't buy this package anymore from the maker shed :(

  • @KDeffects maker shed is a con anyways, you can get it all at around 1/2 the price on ebay!

  • For all that stupid people; saying "Nerd", Tanks to the bunch of Nerds, Now. you have a computers, MP3 reproducer, cell Phones, Games and etc. If you dont know two of the most famous (Jobs and Gates) rich people. you ignorant and stupid people, are the employes of the Many NERDS .. now smile......

  • @nuezoo you rock man, best comment ive ever see

  • @nuezoo dont forget nerds made youtube and the computer their talking smack through!

  • @nuezoo dont forget nerds made youtube and the computer their talking smack through.

  • @nuezoo as my father once told me when i was in highschool....... " if you are not a nerd, at least be nice to them youll end up working for them some day" my dad was so right!!! it worked...now thats why i am pursuing phd, so i can be my own boss.

  • @nuezoo actually those people got it wrong, these are geeks, not nerds.

theres basically 3 tpes of people in the world: nerds, geeks and dorks.

nerds are weaklings who overcompensate with knowledge, and typicly dont care about what it is they are learning.

they embrace the idea of 'knowledge is power' then cant think of any good use for their power.

geeks are people who are so passionate about something that they know allot about it, and as a result

may be missing some social skills.

  • @Whisper6911 dorks = evebody else.

  • хрень

  • are you guys on acid or snow? but anyway, great vid!

  • are you guys on acid or snow?

  • do americans not say the L in soldering? like the IUM in aluminium?

  • Will u make me one I'll pay u

  • *siver* GEEEZZZ MITCH CLIP YOUR FINGERNAILS

  • you see i understand... this is so simple now you just need to divide 1/30 of a second by the layers and you get the time of blinking before a change to the next layer

  • I noticed that the One LED on he bottom is Always lit.. is that by coincidence? Also... Why not step it up and use a multicolored LED.. the are EASY... different currents mean different colors. Awesome jobw itht he firmware though... I am an EET and these types of things makes me want to understand the software and "chip flashing" just a tad more.

  • @mrRapkis

he should be inventing a robotic nail clipper instead

  • @mrRapkis obviously youve never seen fingernails before...

  • @kwebber1234

of course I haven't... You see, I don't have fingers....

Well, I know that sometimes you do need long fingernails, but also sometimes you need to cut them :) just use something small instead...

  • @mrRapkis my white parts of my nail is 2/3 of an inch

  • @mrRapkis hahahahahhaahahaahahahaha XD

  • @mrRapkis haha i went to check and so true

check 1:36 >> for people who havent noticed that like me :D

  • @mrRapkis ikr why a screw driver use your nails.

  • To all the idiots saying "nerds," grow the fuck up.

  • simple as always!

  • As I understand things, each column on the cube needs an output, and each layer, Is there a multiplex Chip Recommended to get an 8x8x8 cube off the arduino? would more than one arduino be required? If 8 bits were read off one output, as I understand things it would take 72 outputs for an 8 cube; 64 for columns, and one more for each layer. then perhaps it could be programmed in 18 digits of hex.

  • nerd nerd and nerd

  • so i have to buy something to make something that probly wont work. Sounds like a GReat IDEA!!!

  • bunch of nerds

  • @LostpkzReklame is this why youre watching it?

  • so i understand the soddering bit, but if I were to just have them all light up at once without software, could i just power them up or would that not work?

  • only a true nerd can know what are they talking about

  • @ahris1972 nerds dont know shit about it...All nerds do is study alot...this is preety hard but i have freinds who fail at school and they know EVERYTHING about this type a shit

  • @HITTHEROAD19 Well if they fail then they clearly don't know everything, do they?

  • @Tda7000 Read what i said again...They know EVERYTHING about this kind of shit?.....Read before you post smartass its actually possible to fail at school with all F except the enginnering....

  • ohh you could super-awesome-itize this with RGB leds 0.0

  • You guys are good. You should have a show.

  • Afro ^^

  • Dude, Where's my car?

  • Yay! Nerd!!!!!! thumbs up!

  • Could you show how to make an led light board that is triggered by light sensing diodes?

  • OMG!!!! You guys should seriously make a 100x100x100 cube of LED lights and make some CRAZY animation in it!!!! :D Although.... It would take more than a weekend to do it. XD At least it will be fun! Oh! Make a vid so that the cube is sync'd to the music so I can show my freinds!!! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!! Btw.... since you showed us how to do 1 layer.... then... how do we do the rest of the layers and have them stay in place?

  • yellow purple brown is 470ohm not 47ohm me thinks - cool projects - keep up the good work

  • these are the people that are going to build teleportation devices, hover crafts, discover new fuel, cure the common cold. fuck the haters.

  • would this work if ya did say 10 x 10 leds????...cam

  • 0:24

dog you look like a fuckin retard

  • pocket backpack led cube should be the tittle

  • cut ur nails

  • you sound like napoleon dynamite

  • VIRGINS!

  • when u said it flashes so fast i wont b able c it well i did

  • lol at 3:33 a 4x4x4 rubiks revenge lol

  • @megastevedragon sorry 5x5x5. nice try tho

  • @KookiesMD3477 ya i thought it was a 4x4x4 cuz you only have like 2seconds to see it so.. thnx anyway

  • what does the resistor do?

  • christmas tree anyone?

  • Very cool...Make rocks!

  • 1:45 the 5x5 rubik's cube is eastsheen ,v-cube ore rubik?

  • He sounds like that TV evangelist.
