sodium vapor start mecanism in the bulb starts arcing; when the sodium vapor electrode gets hot enough, the bulb lights and the noise goes away till the bulb goes dead again and the process begins again. It is called a cycling bulb. The bulb needs replacement when this occurs.
Well for about one and a half months it was solid 24/7, then It went away for a few weeks...then it came back again briefly. Now it's totally gone and I am able to actually use my radio again. My personal opinion, it was ET :3
I'm surrounded by street lights. So, that makes sense. The problem has gone away as of 4 months ago, I appreciate the response though. Thank you
