Pardon my n00bness everyone, but what is LDK? I take it from certain comments that he is playing the game as human Sparda, and I am off to gamespot to look at the cheats/unlockables.
LDK is a mode where you play with the appearance of Sparda, the Yamato sword, and Luce & Umbre (his handguns) all of which are more powerful than regular Dante.
I did this with a Pinnacle DC10 Plus capture card and the build in line-in of my audio card. So, yes, this requires a separate PCI controller in your PC for it to work.
I don't understand very well the difference of the PAL and NTSC, I only know that the version NTSC are better in graphic and speed. This is the japanese version, and it's better than the european I see...By the way, thanks for this fantastic guide ^^ I'll start to replay DMC1 for complete it forever ! 5/5 and favs
First, Dante looks REALLY old in DMC2, older than he does in DMC4, and at the end of DMC2 he goes through a portal to an evil dimension to fight the final boss. Afterwards he rides a motorcycle deeper into the dark dimension saying "Yeah, let's go all the way to hell."
So the guys that made DMC2 sent Dante to hell at the end, which pretty much means he's dead. That's why DMC3 happens BEFORE DMC1 and not AFTERWARDS. Dante dies at the end of DMC2 by going to hell.
It's a frame rate issue. Most older PAL games (including DMC1) run at a frame rate of 25 interlaced frames per second. Assuming you don't know what that means: There is a new image on the screen 25 times every second, creating the illusion of motion.
NTSC games run at a speed of 29,97 interlaced frames per second.
Let's say that High Time takes 25 frames to fully execute. In PAL, that is exactly one second. In NTSC, it is 0.834 seconds. Result: A 'faster' game.

It's pretty simple. First, there was NTSC which has a refresh rate of 60Hz for B&W (60Hz was to match the refresh rate of the power source to prevent rolling bars on the screen). This later shifted to 59,94Hz for colour to eliminate dot patterns.
PAL was and noticed flaws in NTSC. Goal: To make a better colour standard than NTSC for the European refresh rate of 50Hz.
PAL or NTSC are only used to transmit colour. The standard-definition video mode for PAL is 576i with a field rate of 50Hz (i = interlaced resolution, which means that only half of the image is drawn), resulting in a FPS of 25.
NTSC was meant to allow colour information while retaining the old black and white standard. That standard has 30FPS and a refresh rate of 60.
This mostly applies to older stuff, though. It's not really relevant nowadays.

You are joking right? I believe DMC2 was the worst DMC it didn't even had trademark elements of the series (can you imagine a Dante who talks little and doesn't make fun of his enemies??). DMC2 raised the bar that DMC1 set. But in all fairness DMC3 just blew them all out of the water.

Also I am not judging the series from the first game but DMC 3 and DMC 4 have more simillarities with DMC 1 than all of them with DMC 2. I dunno but something felt that was missing when i was playing DMC 2.
I know what you mean, atmosphere and setting were a big change... but to me i felt it was a good direction to take. It felt more modern and less gloomy (where DMC3 mixed gothic style areas and mood, yet still felt modern).
But as i said you can't judge the games on the 1st DMC1, just because the first game was like that, doesn't mean that all of it's sequels have to be like that does it?

It started with a dream... :D Kidding. It started with the idea to make an action-type version of Resident Evil. Kinda like what they did with RE4, but based more on style than anything.
Yes, you get it by playing in Legendary Dark Knight Mode, which you get I believe after you beat Hard Mode. Gives you the sword Yamato and some new music for several battles.
Basically if you bum rush your way through the mission, getting as much red orbs along the way, getting a few Stylish Ranking combos, and avoid damage as much as possible, you'll get an S rank for the mission.
The Yamato was the "human" blade that Sparda carried when he was disguised as a human. I'm only a bit certain that it's just a disguised version of the sword Sparda.
Why do people think DMC2 sucked? It wasn't as GOOD as the first and was a lot different... but it's in no way a bad GAME. I loved it, personally. And 3 was just AS good as the first in a different way simply for the fact it had more to it and was HARDER. My word is God, this is NOT opinion.
Once the enemies glow red, its so hard to beat them unless you are in devil trigger mode. If not then just try to shoot them from afar but it could take a while.

Japan uses NTSC, too. It's called NTSC-J.
The difference between NTSC and PAL is the way colour is encoded. Graphically, PAL is better at encoding colour, actually. ;)

Not gameplay wise... all the 3 DMC games for PS2 have their good and bad points. I recommend DMC2 highly. A very memorable game indeed! :)

Yes, you get it by playing in Legendary Dark Knight Mode, which you get I believe after you beat Hard Mode. Gives you the sword Yamato and some new music for several battles.

Basically if you bum rush your way through the mission, getting as much red orbs along the way, getting a few Stylish Ranking combos, and avoid damage as much as possible, you'll get an S rank for the mission.

The Yamato was the "human" blade that Sparda carried when he was disguised as a human. I'm only a bit certain that it's just a disguised version of the sword Sparda.

Why do people think DMC2 sucked? It wasn't as GOOD as the first and was a lot different... but it's in no way a bad GAME. I loved it, personally. And 3 was just AS good as the first in a different way simply for the fact it had more to it and was HARDER. My word is God, this is NOT opinion.

Once the enemies glow red, its so hard to beat them unless you are in devil trigger mode. If not then just try to shoot them from afar but it could take a while.

DMC1 reigns supreme over all the other DMCs games. The first one was just so much more intense than all the other ones. Seems like it came out yesterday, but it was actually almost 7 years ago...
