  • why the f*ck do you let the wieght slam onto the floor. I bet the other people working out want to grap you by the neck and slap the f*ck out of you. Plus you dont even do it rite. Also you look like your a weak piece of shit. Bye and have a nice day

  • Yo you suck. Where's the squat noob?

  • I did olyumpuc weight lifting training at University of thew Witwatersradn when I was at medical school there, I fell in love with this sport. Continuing inCanad soon at medical scholl ( to complete ) at university level there are the resources to do proper training these and your onther videos are fantastic informative and give a visual representation of how things should be3 done. Thank you for sharing this with us on you tube Hope 2012 has great sucess fro you in your endevours

  • i did this and my knees hurt should i wear pads?

  • what do you suggest for wrist flexibility? that is a problem i have at the moment

  • @TheRealColinChan This brings 2 things to mind:

1 - wrist flexibility can be increased by pulling your fingertips back with your other arm until the backs of them touch your collarbone by the AC joint. Your elbow should rise high, to the point where your humerous is parallel to the floor.

2 - it's likely that you're catching the bar with your hands too much, which can place undue stress on the wrists. The bar should rest across your shoulders more.

  • @workoutbox

yep thats right, i am using my hands too much. i've been working on the stretching of my wrists like your first suggestion, with the elbow high, but i find that when doing the actual lift it doesn't feel very natural.

should i just keep practicing and get better? how about front squats with clean grip?

  • @TheRealColinChan it's going to take consistent time and effort - and yes, the front squat is a skill transfer exercise for the full clean. That will help considerably.

  • Do I do power cleans with a shoulder workout? Or should it be done by itself?

  • @Venus1Star The power clean is an explosive total body exercise, and I wouldn't deem it necessary to assign it to a certain muscle group split. These movements should be done prior to all other exercises during your workout as well.

  • @Venus1Star all power moves should be done first then work your way down to least hardest exercise.

  • yeah i dont have bumpers so its pretty hard to put down the weight gently

  • the gym at the university i go to has bumper plates, but they don't let you drop them. I do it all the time with heavy deads, snatches and cleans, hell I even drop it when I'm free squatting. They hate it, but don't mess with me because I'm the only powerlifter in the gym ololol. Probably because all the trainers/staff there are total noobs who use exercise balls and do calf raises.

  • thats pussey shit i clean 385 fagg

    keep it rubber side down

  • @schmuckerh1 it's a training video...

  • @schmuckerh1

You don't clean shit, much less 385 you typical internet shit talking pussy and he wasn't trying to max he was showing the proper form you 60 IQ primitive weak ass faggot.

  • If you don't have bumper plates, you may damage the bar or weight set. If at all possible, perform Olympic movements using bumper plates. If you are unable to drop the weight after executing a power clean, you will expend a significant amount of energy eccentrically lowering the load to the floor.

  • @workoutbox

yea i a bar with a 45 ilb bumper plate and a 45 pound metal plate (probably not metal) and ended up breaking the end of the bar. in short don't use non bumper plates for this.

  • he thought he was so cool dropping the bar like that acting like he didnt care

  • @HipPopIsWACK That is why he had bumper plates you dumb ass. They are designed to be dropped. You are probably obese and have never seen the inside of a gym

  • @jmfirefox03 lmao i bet ur some 140 lb 14 year old. im 200 lbs at 13% bf, suck dick fag

  • @jmfirefox03 wish the ymca had bumpers where i live

  • @HipPopIsWACK You thought you were so cool caring.

  • @seltersss what? god damn you're retarded.

  • when ever i pc i never thro the bar on the ground....

  • Very good form. I come back to this to note advice for myself all the time. Very nice explosive movement, yet with good control.

  • He is using rubber weights specifically made for olympic lifting. That is why he is dropping the bar each time. Do not drop regular weights

  • doesnt seem to be enough shrug

  • my coach says the power clean is the hardest life to do and the bench is the easyest and the most dangerous thats how USCs running back got hurt he droped a the bar on his neck and smashed hisvoice box he couldnt play in the senior bowl

  • bench isn't the easiest unless you just lie down on the bench and start benching without setting up your form like most people do.

  • @AaDdPp1997

squat is more dangerous because it is most likely going to be more wieght and the falling techinque is hard knowing you have to fall forward just today on my team the biggest guy being a stupid fall back twice and the second time hit his head with 435 lbs

  • Dropping the bar like that would get you barred from my gym, anyway.

    Useful vid, though.

  • Probably a football player. Most gyms that I know of don't mind it, but gyms that don't like people using the equipment like that dont have a power clean station.

  • u see the long rubber mats? they are put there so you can drop the bar on those

  • vols is right, no power clean station in my gym. The floor is rubberised, yet there are signs up saying any dropping of weights or barbells will result in membership removal. Apparently they've replaced a lot of weights due to people dropping them. Still, this is just the kind of exercise I could use for rugby fitness, so I might have to ask if there's no way of doing it.

Is the drop necessary fro the power clean?

  • @loopstheloop no. u don't have to drop it.
