  • this is a Kick-Ass movie thx for posting

  • I saw this when I was a teenager and years later found myself a infantryman with the 101st Airborne division Viet Nam and asking myself some of the same questions Lt. Brubaker did in what in the hell am I doing here and why me and in the end Brubaker realizes there is no rhyme or reason why but just fate.

  • We have this going on right now because of

Israel. 9/11 was an Isreali-dominated operation. Go to erichufschmid(dot)net and find out what happened. This Israelis attacked us on 9/11 and tricked our military

into going to war against their enemies,

which they have created since 1948. We in the

west are under the control of the media, which

is dominated by Jewish interests which is

why no one has heard that Israel attacked us on 9/11.

Tell the police and military about this.

  • it's a sad ending..

    shocking too!!

    i can't believe he died..

  • great movie, so sad ending

  • This is a Great movie for me too. Wars realism comes through in all respects here. My Uncle actually flew this plane in the movie. He was a Navy pilot in Korea and a Captain in the Navy. My Cousin his oldest son has that helmet now. The movie is on DVD now too.

  • This is a great movie, I watch this whenever

it comes on. I wonder what William Holden would have done if he found out that Israel

was behind the attacks on 9/11? I bet he

wouldn't have run away from the truth like many Americans are. For those of you who do have enough personal courage to find out exactly what happened, and how we were attacked by Israel go to erichufschmiddotnet

and let's start telling law enforcement and

    the military about this.

  • Now what the hell is wrong with the comment I posted? Whoever rated it negatively, F U C K Y O U! (That's the only feature I wish YouTube got rid of!)

  • We have this happening in Iraq and Afghanistan right now, sad but that's how war goes. However, people get killed like this isn't very pleasant to think about. I wish a time would come when we'd have no more wars but it's probably not possible. As long as we have humans, we'll probably have wars.

  • By far, my favorite part of "Bridges at Toko Ri". Despite the sad ending, it immaculately demonstrates the devotion, heroism and comradery of the American fighting man!

  • I am currently looking for a copy of the movie but Michener's book makes the poignant point that there is the few who go further than the rest. He writes of it never being the right war and never being the right place but still the few have to fight despite all their fears and what ever they think is wrong with the war. One thing that never changes from the roman legions to this day-there is always someone who gets put at sharp end and rises above themselves in sacrifice.

  • Reportedly, Holden preferred stark realism over a Hollywood-styled upbeat ending. Well he sure got what he wanted. Seeing the hero and his buddies perish under such desperate circumstances makes an enduring poignant impression that hasn't diminished over these some 50+ years.

  • William Holden, supposedly, insisted on the 'more realistic' ending that was shown, but it made for a memorably downbeat finale. The audience first pulls for him to reach the sea, then hold off the attacking North Koreans on the ground, but in vain. Highly memorable heroism and devotion to duty.

  • Thank you ae62ea for posting this clip. Things get very poignant and depressing, just afterwards. Interestingly, the writers wanted to have a 'happy ending' but Holden insisted on something more realistic. He got his wish but it's definitely a 'downer' to see the protaganist and a co-star executed and covered with mud in a North Korean irrigation ditch. C'est la guerre!

  • Sad movie in the ending when Brubaker and his pails get it.

  • Many years later, the street-level scenes in "Black Hawk Down" deliver that same feeling of being "abandoned" in a bad place.

  • I have been flying the panther and this is a beautiful aircraft to fly and could take a lot of punishments.

  • The best jet carrier movie ever.
