Best Gen, I myself had a Gamecube (my favourite and most underrated console till this day) and my friends had PS2s and XBOXs. Great just to go round and actually play good home multiplayer games unlike today where everything has to be online

Best gen ever. The games actually had decent single-player modes back then, not like now, where developers only care about online. Everybody had a PS2, very little fanboyism back then. Online gaming was emerging.

I shouldn't expect more from someone going by the moniker GangstaGamer96, but if you want to call yourself a Gamer so badly (I'm not judging on the Gangsta part), try to use the rest of your childhood getting your facts straight. The Wii has outsold the 360 2 to 1 and the PS3 is forecasted to push Microsoft's machine into last place before the year's end, meaning MS is "dominating" like the Gamecube "dominated" last gen. The fact your friends all own 360s isn't gonna change that.

now this was the greatest gen in gaming history fact that all the consoles were good here the ps2 was the best followed by gcn then the dc even the xbox was good (and i hate microsoft's consoles) i spent so much time playing the consoles of this gen especially the ps2 that console has the largest variety of games and they were all good i don't think i owned a console that has more variety then ps2 so many fond memories of this gen that i wish i could go back through time and do it all over again

@mysteriousgamer89 I must say that I disagree that 360 made gamers casual if anything in my point of view its the opposite, I also have a PS3 and Wii, Wii has a few good games like No More heroes 1&2 the Mario and Zelda games yeah, Ps3 has cool games too but once again I run into the same problem, most of the games are shooters or dark and griddy, which is fine I love the games I have but,I just miss the last generation such a variety and fun expierence =( and some of the games were just better

@0p3nureyez 360 mostly has nothing but shooters the ps3 has more genres then the 360 and 360 didn't make gamers hardcore at all just look at their casual games such as halo,cod,gears of war and so on the only console that's hardcore is the ps3 and it definetly proved it with games such as mgs4,gow3,uncharted 2,demon's souls and so on me personaly i can't stand the 360 i thought the xbox was good but not 360 i have a long history with the 360 on why i hate it and i rather not get into right now

6th generation is the best imo, I would say only 5 percent of games coming out now for 7th gen are worth the money. I grew up with the 6th gen so of course I am nostalgic. However I DIDN'T grow up with third or fourth but I have played the games recently and recognize that it was a great gaming generation.

Sorry but this generation of gaming just flat out blows, I don't know what happened. Better graphics, more realistic but unbelievable horrible plots and writing for games these days. PS2 FTW

@xenocide8 I don't know man. All halo games have been great and halo is easily one of the top 10 if not top 3 game series of all time. Reach is pretty much almost perfection and halo 3 was perfection at the time it was released. I thought halo 2 was just a huge step up from halo 1. The campaign was prob the best one ever if you forget about the cliffhanger at the end. And the pure badassness of the online was almost unimaginable at the time. All halo games also have flawless control layouts.

@xenocide8 well moneys no object for me i ususally make around 4,200 dollars a month so i get the vastly superior online service. also cod is better gameplay and graphics wise then on the ps3 due to the fact that infinity ward and treyarch develope the game on the 360 then release it on everything else. I own all 3 and a ps2 and regular xbox. As well as a n64. Sony should have taken the money that they wasted on playstation move and used it to enhance their online features. Or bribe to get halo.

I loved my ps2 but at least half my gameplay from the last generation was halo 2 and nfl fever 2004 online. Although the ps2 at the time had the best offline game library second only to the n64 imo. 6th gen gaming had a lot going for it, I don't think it was nescerarily graphics but more multplayer and feature content.

The SNES has an expansion bay. In Japan, the online service for SNES was called Satellaview, and in america it was known as XBAND. XBAND also worked for the Sega Genesis. You havent heard of it because it's before your time and it was a rare thing back then.

Sega also had its own private online services, known as the Sega Meganet and Sega Channel. Sega Meganet allowed people in Japan to play a few games online, whereas Sega Channel was more about downloading and playing retail games.

Really? I always had problems with Sega, until the Dreamcast. I liked the Genesis, but it was nothing compared to the SNES; never had a Saturn nor never wanted one. But Dreamcast is one time where Sega got it right. GREAT console, very good games, terrific graphics. Really, Sony killed Dreamcast. Too bad. It had so much going for it.
