Gosh, for Europeans to go to an African country rape the land for its minerals and treat the Africans as sub-humans. People can be so evil!!! The things people tell themselves to rationalize the inhumanities they agress on others.
@saanzacs No. His name is Sivuca. One of the most important musicians of Brazil. Was a tremendous accordion player. You can find many songs here on youtube. search for "Sivuca", and look the video posted by "thomasraden". Is my favorite. Hope you can enjoy it too. Kindest regards from RJ- Brasil.
This overtowering legendary Icon that made South Africa popular before the 2010 FIFA World Cup by traversing the world during the struggle. Her songs were banned in South Africa by an oppressive system. Tactifully fought against the ugly apartheid system. Forever in our minds, Mama...
keep enjoying it.she has the voice of an angel. You need to check Bella Bellow she sang around the same time and has a unique angelic voice. Bella died aged 26 but until today she is Benin's most famous 60s voice.Miriam Makeba and Bellow are the queens.
@swdanielson I was 16 when I saw her live for the first time. She had these three back-up singers who can be seen on the dvd with Paul Simon. Gorgeous girls, great voices, my eyes were on them... until SHE walks in. She was already getting kinda old and (sorry) sort of chubby but she blew these girls off stage. My eyes never left her face for the whole show. I didn't speak about anything else for about a month.
i was lucky to see her perform in Boston with her grand-daughter, among others, in 1994. She was preparing to return to South Africa to vote for the first time. Thank You! Viva Miriam!
what a very smart woman she was. iam so proud of her for continueing her people's work and spreading the message even though she was exiled from her home country. that is what the world needs today.

I could find lyrics for some of Makeba's songs, but there seems to be no lyric of Khawuleza available on the internet, as well as its translation.
Of course I understood what Khawuleza means, but there are other sentences in the song that I'd like to have. And the translation too.
Is there anyone who speaks or understands Xhosa who can help on that? (or someone who has lyrics or translation).
Thanks in advance.
