This video is wrong. First of all pregnant and nursing women DO fast. Only life threatening situations allow for exemptions. In addition, if you ARE exempt it doesn’t just allow you to each whenever or however you want. You must consult a Rabbi first. Leather SHOES are prohibited, not leather. Writing, TV is all forbidden. If you're going to keep Yom Kippur, do it right!

Not to write, or watch TV or anything you'd ordinarily do on a regular day that involves mechanics or electronics or electricity or any effort of any sort. You're supposed to go to synagogue and pray and if not, reflect in quietude while fasting away from anything that would distract. It's a HOLY DAY.

i agree with you. you all have to go sun up to sun down with no food or water. It's a total endurance test for you. Unbelievable. Plus, you're expected to carry on with your normal lives: work, school. We Jews stay home or go to Synagogue for the 25 hour period so we're not dealing with the normal daily trials. I admire your faith. A whole month of daily Sun up to sun down fasting and I understand it can get longer or shorter depending on when it falls in the year. OY VEY!!!!!!!
