The bit when that huge rock is chasing you is still in the game and the bit where a dude throws logs at you has been replaced by red barrels.

This is Duke Nukem Forever before the engine switch. Everything you see in this video no longer exist, they had an engine switch to the "unreal" engine, from their "build" engine to make it look more realistic. Then after that engine switch, they switched again to a newer version of the "unreal" engine, that supported online play. So overall, they had to comepletely redo the game three times. They might have to do it again if they dont release it soon!

Interesting that the levels are 100% the same like in the the actual version of 2009. The mining district, the tunnels, the desert etc.

They should have finished it on the base of the 1998 Quake 2 engine.

Fuckin Christ 3D Realms in History. They didnt have the money to keep up the work on D-N-Forever. They Closed, take two have now the publishing rights,but theve said, that they didnt spent money in the development of this game. SO Duke Nukem Forever is gone :( cant belive it! It wasn't that Duke wasn't ready, it was the announcement of Half-Life 2 and the graphics capabilities and physics of the engine. 3dRealms decided to go back and redo the game to compete with the next gen of games. It should be out late this year or early 2008.

I was very little when Doom, Queake, and the Duke ruled the PC's! I played every expansion pack of the Duke, and i even bought PlayStation just to play it on the console, so dont tell me if don't uderstand what you wannted to say.
