i think the cleverness of the song is in the lyrics, cuz the video kinda gives away the clever aspect. If you just listen to it you wouldn't know he was singing about a dog until about half way through, so at first you just think it's a love song, then it becames a love-dog song. Kinda clever. Yeah they took a BIG chance with their self-titled record IMO, very similar to Bad Religions "The New America." When I heard it I was like "uhh...what?" But then I picked up the record and heard the rest of it and some of my favorite songs are from the self-titled record. Hell, "The Fade Away" is one of my favorite songs ever, let alone from the Machines.
I agree that this music is different then what they used to be like, but its their band and their decision. And this song could be better, but its got 65000 views which is more than most of their original punk videos/ songs on here

Yeah they took a BIG chance with their self-titled record IMO, very similar to Bad Religions "The New America." When I heard it I was like "uhh...what?" But then I picked up the record and heard the rest of it and some of my favorite songs are from the self-titled record. Hell, "The Fade Away" is one of my favorite songs ever, let alone from the Machines.

you wanna hear "emo" music back when the shit was just emotional alternative? listen to at the drive-in. theyre from back in the mid, late 90s. good instrumentals, metaphorical lyrics that you had to sit there and interpret them. thats what emo should mean. right now, the worst thing that is happening to music is 3oh3!. sure the band makes good, funny music as a joke. but then all these ripoff bands that didnt get the joke are making the same kind of music and taking it seriously.

Punks not dead! From the beginning of punk it was a movement to speak freely about what you beleived in in an attempt to make a difference. it was never sterotyped to a genre of music or the type of clothes you wore it was more a mentality to express your self through music. punk will only die when you let it, and it sure as hell aint dead yet!

Punk will not be a thing of the past or "dead" until it becomes contradictory, or in more simple terms...popular. Like Emo has been around for along time, it didn't just pop out of nowhere, and now emo is kinda false cuz everyone and their grandma is emo. and even if true punks don't like to hear it, I know I sure don't. Emo used to be a type of punk, but now its been fabricated and now its not punk. When true Punk becomes like that, it will be dead.

Well i think that "punk" is a word that can have many significances because it's not about been rebel, renegade or say fuck them all, i think it's about conviction, the suicide machines make a song about how much they love a pet so fucking what? they don't need to say fuck the goverment all the time, in fact there's no necesary to have protest to be punk, yeah... many "punk" bands do that but it's not obligatory and anyways who cares how you name the music,music can be good no matter what is it
