  • @gsire123 Buck 119 special

  • I SUGGEST ALL OF THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE NEGATIVE COMMENTS STOP TYPING AND GET OUT THERE AND MAKE A VIDEO AND SEE HOW DIFFICULT IT IS, INSTEAD OF BASHING OTHER PEOPLE'S VIDEOS THAT ARE PROVIDING FOR THEIR FAMILIES. I'M SURE HE MADE THE VIDEO TO SHARE THE EXPERIENCE NOT START A BUSINESS.

IF YOUR GOING TO BASH VIDEOS, SHOW US PROOF YOU CAN DO BETTER.

  • Probably worth cutting out the the rectum from outside and removing it with the rest of the organs. That way you don't have to tear it from inside and risk spoiling the meat.

  • They didn't even know how long that elk had been dead...

  • What's the best way to cook the liver ? any ideas ?

  • There's not whole alot of enthusiasm for organ meat is there ? People are afraid of the fat grams and cholesterol..

  • What a bad job guy's. Next time don't put on you tube if you don't know what are you doing. Bad , Bad , Bad

  • wow that was a scene

  • Good video.

But that is such a hack job.

Man all you had to do was slow down a bit it's not a race.

You were not careful with the knife and made a lot of slash cuts into the meat.

Also you need to slow down and watch for contamination, after cutting the asshole out you didn't bother to even clean your knife off once.

    And then cutting into flesh.

You can cause a lot of problems for yourself getting cross contamination.

Instead of just hacking away watch and feel your way around the insides you s

  • I like the video, but why am I watching this?

  • what kind of skinning knife is that?

  • your such a beginner yourself! what a mess! lol

  • there is no way i would have eatin this. see, i like to eat the animal, not the animal and everything else its eatin

  • good job puncturing every possible organ...

  • There is a WAY better way to do that!! Ill have my video up soon. Watch it. you may learn something.

  • damn shit is all over the meat wtf man next time gut em by spliting the hunds apart first much easier

  • so let me get this straight, an incision down the legs to the crotch below the mammary glands, split up the middle careful to no puncture pleural membranes, then removal of mammary glands, cutting around the anus so it can be pulled back through, pleura is broken at the crotch, the messentary is then cut, the guts are pulled out without smashing them and prior to all parietal paritonea are cut from the bascular membrane inside the rear wall.

  • @azreal289 it seems, if my anatomy serves you can segregate the intestines from the stomach and liver. The liver can be removed by cutting its mesentary and pulling it out, you would want to leave the intestines in. You then cut the diaphragm, and leave the heart ( if it is still whole) in its paricardium. You can tie off the esophagus and make a cut where it hits the neck and pull the whole gi track out without risking the meat and heart. leaving the hepatic paritoneum seals the liver as well.

  • Nothing says lov'in like a dull over sized knife held like a serial killer. what a goddamned mess!!!!!Glad to here the meat was still good. Nothing like raw sewage sloshing around a body cavity

  • that guy sucked, If you are not suppose to punch the guts , why do you punch the guts!? were you drunk?

  • Good instruction but except for the bile and urine, no other video out there like this one others are poor instruction and quick with fast fowarding the video, but this can happen to anyone im sure everyone had there experience no ones perfect!

  • Well I dont think the name calling is necessary but you guys really did screw this one up. I dont care what method you use, when you get bile all over the meat its gonna be rank tasting. I agree that you should have published a vid of a better field dress. I am going for elk in two weeks so If I get one I will publish a vid of the correct way to not puncture the guts.

  • how did you make it look so easy?

  • @arbiter569 Its fukin simple you idiot

  • Dull knife, punctured stomach, urine and feces tainted... a bad job . A good video of what NOT to do. Nice try though, maybe do it better next time.

  • @nycredneck like you could do it any better.. only the most skilled hunters can process a deer without any problem at all

  • @Graverobber94 Well then I must be a skilled hunter because I dress whitetails in about 5 min with no problem. Head uphill, sharp knife and a guthook... one, two, three, it's clean, easy and done...RIGHT.

  • @nycredneck yes, maybe you are one... but that makes you arrogant!

  • @Graverobber94 Not at all, I was not being arrogant in my first post either. I said maybe do better next time, everything else in there is what really happened. I'm not trying to bash, life is to short,At some point you will have to admit it was a less than good job of dressing. Listen to all the other post,s. Good luck hunting.

  • @nycredneck none's perfect..

  • video started out well. finished like hell. you guys should take a class or sumthin.looks like you have no clue on what ur doing. just sayin

  • was that knife sharpened or was it that sharp when he got it?

  • Next time you field dress, Change your knife after working around the rectum, Those fancy BUtt tools work great and are inexpensive, Dont risk the contamination, Im going for my first elk in december, and I can imagine that with the snow on the ground it'll be cold. Now sense in rushing though, I hope your elk made for some nice meals, and I enjoyed your video. best of luck hunting:)

  • A sharp knife would be helpful. If You put first the guts out, You would not mix the blood and the intestine content to a sticking, stinking mixture. The guys standing around could have lifted the elk at the pelvic limbs. That would have made Your work easier. Nonetheless: Its a hard job gutting such a big game alone. Most people could not do it at all. Go on!

  • I subscribed but it was definitely not for this video lol

  • Nice work guys, thanks for the pointers... I had to do it the other day alone with two big Axis on an uphill slope in 98 degrees here in Texas... Pain in the butt, there no such thing as textbook... meat was still good!

  • What do you do with the skin? Can it be used for something?

  • @amitp2 Elk hide is not as tough as cow hide but u could use it for things. I don't however.

  • i strongly doubt that there was more then 50% left edible after this. fucks sake guys why would you publish this?

  • @andrewtress If you watch the rest of the series you'll understand that we butchered a bit differently. All of the meat was edible. It was not a perfect field dressing, and yes a bit rushed, but far from meat spoilage.

  • @andrewtress Well, in the field it doesn't always work like it says it should in the textbook.

  • dude, your rushing, you got shit in the meat, if your going to put this on youtube, do it right. no offense.

  • @andrewtress like you could do it any better

  • Damn, about 8:05 I would have said " I don't know what the fuck I'm doing, do you know how to do this"?

What a fucking mess, I hope you guys ate every bit of that animal since you killed it

  • @benjamin975 Yes, we do know what we are doing, and Yes, we are eating it. Thanks for watching!

  • @benjamin975 i would guess youre vegetarian

  • wow! when the gases escape from the intestines, it really sounds like that?

  • @josh4380 Yeah, the first time I had it happen to me it scared the crap out of me....lol

  • Holy this guy is a disaster, puncture the guts contaminated the meat. I am pretty sure this was his first time field dressing.

  • I was wondering what time of the year you shot this? Public or private land?

  • This part of the hunt is why I'll never understand why some people think of it as "sport" or "recreational" hunting. It's hard work! Dang! And I'm out of elk sausage.

  • Excellent Vid, really get the feeling for how involved this process is. Not being a hunter, I have always been concerned that in a WROL situation I might need to process an animal. This helps bridge that gap.

  • nice cow and nice buck knife, i got the same one!

  • Great video. Thanks a lot for sharing, nice to have a refresher during the off season for me.

  • Great how to !

  • Its crazy cus Im sitting here and in my mind I am thinking of the various names of the organs as you go along, and on what you cut etc lol

  • A lot of great information in these videos, thanks a lot guys for shooting these when you get the chance. [plus I am a nurse+ science geek, so I always find any type of anatomy fascinating]. As I said in a earlier vid of yours its very nostalgic for me since you dissect preserved cats [with skin, and we need to skin them "perfectly" to be able to ID everything].

  • Nice job guys.

  • Great video, well presented.

  • nice cow , pack that freezer

  • Great video!
