I'd rather focus on how much of a badass Maidana is for getting up from a tough position early and still come back to beat on his ass until the 12th round. That's epic to me, not Amir's game plan.

The body shot that sent Maidana down is the factor in this fight. If Maidana wouldn't have been knocked down he would have won because the box cards were close and Khans face was clearly a mess from all those Maidana hits...both fought good though.

the only argument I see with this is that 10th round, and whether it should have been stopped. For me it was borderline, we've all seen lower card fights get stopped, but they always offer more flexibility in big fights. Look at Pac/Margarito, that was brutal.

There's no legitimate argument for Maidana winning. Khan landed 117 more punches, and 68 more power punches. Even considering Maidana's incredible effort over the last 3 rounds, Khan clearly won. The fact is, both fighters deserve massive respect for putting on one of the best fights of the year. I'd give Maidana a shot to defeat Alexander right now. Is it too hard for people to put aside personal bias and admire both these athletes? Face it, none of us would get into the ring with either.

Look how he finished up!" Well, the problem with that theory is that boxing is an organised sport, not a street fight. That's why they employ judges to score each round. Would it be fair to someone who dominated 9 of 12 rounds not to award him the fight because he had more cuts and welts on his face?
