the pvp combat in swtor will be more tactical then most mmos because of cover and making it so u have to hit them a lot before u can just do specail abilities

troopers get heavy guns and a4mor sticky nades and cover. smugglers get two pistols light armor stun nades and cover. yeah way to make all the classes equal bioware. remove the trooper cover system

Depends, the KoTORs used a rolling system.

Several factors apply, but say a sith soldier rolled a 15 out of 20 for an attack, and the smuggler rolled a 15 out of 20 for defense then the soldier would miss.

Granted there's a lot more to it than that, and not for sure how TOR will do it, but it's easiest to do it like this as lag would make it hard for true real time combat like that.

Although technology is greater than it used to be.

I'm actually leaning towards the Dice Roll system. It worked perfectly in Kotor and for them to really make the cover design work it's probably the best way to go. Also it's a very lght system, less lag and lower minimum requirements. Nowadays most MMOs need over 3Gb RAM, meaning that a 2 or 3 year old PC won't run most. Even in WoW i was having trouble with my laptop. The graphics are getting too insane and developers are forgetting about the fun part, the GAMEPLAY.

2) my 2+ year old rig can handle anything i've thrown at it.

2) well that depends on the rig, if i had bought the Asus G5 instead of the "gaming" basic it would run most of the newer releases.
