they say do the guid line to have an idea of what u want ur character to b doing.....whats the point tho i mean u r just fucking up ur papper more cause u have to erase it later....i mean come on...i never did get it and i still dont.

the guid lines just fuck everthing up its just better to do without, plus if u have the image already in ur head what is the poin of putting guid lines.....i mean thats pretty stupid right.

You grasp the basics, but I must say your anatomy is not good. The body is disproportionate, the head's proportions are not good, and you just follow the basic "large eyes kawaii desu" style everyone knows.

Learn anatomy, proportions and shading, try out your own style.

I don't want to sound rude or anything but that isn't anime. That's manga and the difference is that anime = cartoons, manga = comics,pics and so on. Btw the vid is great ;)

the proportioning is kind of off, and the eyes need a little more accent the neck was a too thick for female anime's. what you should do is draw the head first and then start with the body.

it's kinda bad......

That's what I normally do. I know it's a bit off, but like I said, I did it in the morning before school, and its really jumpy when your using that screen capture thing so you can't tell what you've done until ages after. If you look at the examples of my actual work you can see they are much better than this, and this is how they are all constructed.

Thanks! A 'Wacom Bamboo' is a graphics tablet, which is like a pen for your computer, and you gotta buy it separately. You could still do drawings with a mouse though ~

Thankyou! I really recommend the Wacom Bamboo, it's well worth the money and is what I'm using at the moment. I am planning to get a bigger one but for now the small one is easy to transport to school.

It takes quite a lot of practice but Anime tends to be easier than say, doing portraits of people.

You have to buy it, or you can download a free 30 day trial from the Adobe website, which is a good option to test it out first.

The only other way would be downloading it from a torrent site but I'm not sure how legal that is.

Well, let's just say that 'Hypothetically' you could download the Photoshop CS3 (Newest version)free trail off the adobe website and just use a crack or keygen to make it into the full program. It's really easy, and lets say 'hypotheticly' you wanted to do this, just search it on youtube and watch a tutorial video.

But it's very illegal yes, it's pretty much the same as going into a shop and taking the actual box with the disk in it.

But really photoshop is that free program nobody actually buys if you know what i mean. Except nice people. Also you should stick to the pirate law, if you like it, pay for it. ;)

Haha, exactly. I should 'aquire' CS3, I'm still using 7.0, but it's done me fine so far, so I'll stick with it until I can be bothered aquiring the new one. :D

Yeah, i only got CS3 'cause it was a new comp so i though why not. It's really no different though, just this like weird viewpoint mapping thing, beats me. But yeah you would probably only want to use that if you were so photoshop god anyways.

Nope, it isn't a laptop. It's a normal computer. It might be a lot harder if you have a mouse, I use a graphics tablet which is like, a pen that you can use with your computer. Don't be sad about it, just keep practicing and you'll get there! ^_^
