  • this is andy's pedal

  • The prototype's in Andy's pedalboard, amiright?

  • i like the look of this old one better! so worn out and old.

  • Anyone else prefer having the prototype version?

  • GIEF. i was about to buy one but it ships in march. god damnit

  • wow figured the pitch black would be a good thing may reconsider buying one have ya tried out others ya may have jsut got a bad one

  • My PitchBlack sucks.. I have a 40 dollar Fender thats just as good. Most of the time the pitchblack doesn't even react when I strum the low E string. I have to pluck it 10 times before it reacts. Overrated. It is accurate though but its slow in inconsistent when picking up a signal. Mine's goin on eBay. Shoulda returned it when I had the chance.

  • not working?

  • For those of you who haven't already figured out, this is the prototype fo the new TC Electronic Polytune. Check out the new official demo!

  • DHARMA Initiative made tuner =))

  • I NEED one of those!!!!

  • So it's a TC electronic pedal!

  • This is the tc electronic polytune.

  • So finally we know this is TC electronic's work. Great idea to let PGS check it out first :-)

I'm with you on this one Andy, I want one!

  • It would be cool if the screen was somehow tilted up in the back so that it would face the musician more when standing behind a pedalboard....

  • It's made by TC Electronics, this gives a little bit more info than the official video. The finished Product looks much nicer.

  • badass!

  • this is the TC electronics Polytune, as seen @ winter namm. It is demoed on the tc website.

  • TC Electonics... Very cool indeed

  • Thank you TC Electronic for the Polytune! It is out 2-18-2010. I am confused though. I know you can detune to say, Eb Standard and still use it. But what if you play in Drop D. Everything else is standard. How capable is this pedal?

  • TC Electronic just released/announced this at NAMM.

  • Its definitely a TC, Just got an email from musicians friend and its at the NAMM show. Cant wait for this to come out! I want one.

  • It's being released at NAMM. It's a TC Electronic product, and will retail for $99.

  • It's from Tc Electronic... Great tuner..

  • It's from Tc Electronic.. It's an excellent tuner IMO, Too bad I think electronic tuners only are for people that can't use a tuning fork or their ears. I get the point that it can be useful on stage but.. Whatever. Good job Tc Electronic. Yet another great pedal, I can't say that I'm shocked tough, I had a feeling this kind of polytuner would be out sooner or later

  • MAAAAANNNN I WANT IT SO BAD!!!

  • TC ELECTRONIC!!!!!!!! ahahha

  • holy hell, that's cool

  • I NEED THIS TUNER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great. Thank you and I hope you solve the mystery.

  • As soon came to market I will take my Boss Tuning Pedal off my pedalboard. I love how this pedal work.

  • i want it now, and under 100 bucks hopefully

  • Can anybody tell me the name of the background music from 0:27 and on?

  • k..... if it's more accurate than a Pitchblack.... gimmmmmeeeeeeeeeee

    so GAS-ing right now

  • st-200 is more accurate than the pitchblack, get that.

  • if you want accurate get a strobe tuner like the strobo stomp, strobes are more accurate than ANY chromatic tuner.

  • Why didn't my post appear the first time?

    Anyway, yes:

    Korg Pitchblack: +/- 1 cent

TC Electronic Polytune: +/- 0.5 cent

  • but you can only tune one string at once anyways right?

  • By the looks of it as long as you don't mute the other strings as you are tuning a single string the general view of the strings should stay up there - So I'm thinking you could probably tune multiple strings at once.

  • its from tc electronics, check out there web page. why cant i see this video?! anyway, can anyone tell me if its true bypass or not. thanks

  • Finally quite a novelty.I think that one will toss a lot of Boss TU-2 out of pedalboards if priced right.

  • awesome!!!!!

  • electronic tuners are for pussies

just give me a tuning fork

  • @teljax dude you are my hero..... LOL

  • @teljax

Everyone knows how to tune with a fork, but try tuning your guitar in standard Eb with it, or check your tuning while playing a song.

This thing allows you to so keep an open mind before calling people pussies mr. dick

  • I think teljax's sense of humor is above you.

  • LOL

  • I use a five foot pitch fork. Nobody gives me any trouble about my tuning! But I'll be switching to one of these Polytunes.

  • I use a pitch pipe. It's alot more accurate than any electronic tuner i have ever used...

  • Only problem with a pitch pipe is that I've never found one loud enough to tune a bypassed electric guitar on a noisy stage.

  • Let us know when you figure out who it's from!

  • TC Electronic

  • Schwinng

  • i want it

    o_o

  • how the hell does that work?

  • I need one. I wonder what the accuracy is? (+/- cent)

  • That is amazing and someone needs to step up for credit. Who ever did it needs a medal!!!!

  • This is so effin COOL! We were at an Mads Langer concert in denmark just before christmas, and his guitarist had one hooked up on stage. We were sitting high and could see the pedal as it has a very bright display in real life. He was using it between every song for 10-15 seconds, strumming all his strings once or twice. Anybody have a guess where it's from? I think TC but it could also be Yamaha. Anyway I want one please!

  • Most likely TC Electronic. Looks like its being featured at the 2010 NAMM Show. Check out TC's website.

  • It's definitely TC Electronic. Take a look at their home page. A sketch of something exactly the same as this shows up on the NAMM banner. Wait for it to scroll through all the images, you'll see it.

  • what a cool idea!

  • It would be great if it came with two circuits, two inputs and a display on both sides, so two bandmates can use it simultaneously face to face by putting it upright on a table.

  • I like it. Give it a nice paint job and I'll buy one or two.

  • HOLY SHIT, I WANT IT

  • it would be cool if it was truely chromatic, that way those of us who use multiple tunings per set wouldn't have to change it in between songs

  • I believe that this is from TC Electronic. They posted a full page add on page 35 in the February issue of Gutar World. Sweet tuner.

  • fuck I can't comment this video. WTF!

  • fancy ass tuner... mine 7$ Qwik Tune QT-15 Automatic Guitar and Bass Tuner works perfect

  • fancy ass tuner... mine 7$ Qwik Tune QT-15 Automatic Guitar and Bass Tuner works 100%

  • Schweet! I want one!

  • Isn't this by TC Electronic? What's the secret? I saw either an ad or a note about it in the most recent Guitar World.

  • effin awesome!

  • AWESOME. But can you remake the demo without that annoying music in the background? Still, I repeat, AWESOME. I need one of these.

  • If you really wanted to know who made this, you could always compare the handwriting on the pedal with the handwriting of any sources you may have. It'd take a while, but it could work.

    This is really great, though.

  • must... have... one...

  • must... have... that...

  • i fucking want 1.Best tuner so far

  • awesome!

  • want one! why oh why did I buy a pitchblack :(

  • Ohhhhh man. Brilliant pedal! And, brilliant marketing I might add!

  • Bad Ass!

  • i watch videos from pgs regulary and enjoy them, but never expected a mystery:)

  • excellent pedal

  • Crap, I just broke down and finally bought a pitchblack.

  • omg i want 1 too!!!!

  • holy cow!!!!!

  • This pedal is a T.C. Electronics pedal I guess they just couldn't wait to show everybody what was going to be "the product of the year" at NAMM... there is a partial picture of what the possibly finished look is on the main site for T. C. Electronics....

  • how dare someone make one of these and not share it with the world!

  • they just have...

  • Dynamite !!! I like my Boss TU-2 but this is way better I think. Probably costs $500 though.....

  • Phantom FX!!

  • I think I've found out where its from. I'd love to get my hands on one!

  • I want one for sure

  • thats wicked sick, i need one :)

  • I WANT ONE!

  • Hey Andy I want one !!!! hehehe

  • I WANT IT!!

  • The company behind already has a hint on their website - I just noticed :)

  • This is an awesome pedal!

I don't know who made it. But I'm sure he's very glad with Andy and Co. You've done some killer advertising for him! find out who he is give him some funds to put it in a slightly more finished case and sell those things! I want one!!

  • Does this thing accommodate the Buzz Feiten Tuning System?

  • are there special pickups required, or does it work with any kind (e.g. single coils, Humbuckers,p90s)?

  • @youhalfpipe, is this a joke question?

  • umm dude are you kidding me? any will work.. DUH!!!

  • youhalfpipe = Noob Guitarist

  • @youhalfpipe It's a tuner mate.

  • I want one, and I hope they keep the look. I love the lack of paint and hand written labels

  • I bet it's Planet Waves!!

  • Looks like a homemade pedal

  • those shapeshifting reptilian aliens at it again... kidding... thats silly.

i want one, i think.... ha.

that is one of the coolest things ive heard of.

  • not working for me either. seems like the past few days Ive been having alot of touble with YT vids...real laggy

  • I want one!

  • Killer.

  • It's about time someone revolutionized the way we tune our guitars. I bet Roland is pissed they didn't think of it first!

  • very cool! tumb up!

  • Wawow!....I do love my Peterson though

  • alien technology

  • Is anyone else having trouble viewing this video? All other YouTube vids are working like normal, but not this one! I keep coming back a few hours later, using different browser, etc. but nothing's working!

And all the awesome feedback is just making me want to see it more!

  • not me :)

  • nah dont got that problem

  • Yeah,it's not working for me either.

  • i'm having the same problem

  • yeah i cant view it either

  • wow very interesting

  • That is just way cool. Will it replace my boss tuner ???

  • i clicked on this link thinking 'why are they demoing a tuner? and proceeded to have my mind blown

  • Omg, that's awesome!

Mystery company making a brilliant tuner... I've got my money on Electro Harmonix :D

  • Excellent idea if it works, I would buy one!

  • a revolutionary tuner made by a misterious company... from outer space, probably

  • how mysterious

  • give it a black finish, a non-flashing display and a true bypass an it will be awesome :D but i think i still prefer the pitchblack since it has a voltage feed (260mA) for charging other pedals.

  • Close. The finish on the final product is white

  • cool!

  • cool!

  • Wow~ this product is an innovation in tuner world.

I wonder if it is true bypass.

  • @seokwonp It said so.

  • It does say that it is.

And that is really cool actually, i want one :D

  • Oooo, I just love a good mystery..... I wonder if the butler designed it!

Anyway, seems like a great little box, I wouldn't mind having one of those.

  • ive seen a video on harmony central effects forum of a danish guy with a computer with a similar software, ill try and find it again and let you know what his name was

  • cooooooooool!

  • wonder if a 12 string would work :D

  • sweet! but... im pretty happy with my boss tu-2.

  • they should make it look insanely cool :D like fireworks spurting out of each corner ever time you tune a string correctly.... chyeah

  • I have the KORG tuner, no problems with that one. but it is true u have to check string by string. but i dont want to put to much money in tuners

  • Orders on the way...

  • do want

  • Is this some kind of concept or what? Because I didn't find anything from Google

  • hell yeah. i want one

  • I want!

  • I WANT ONE.

  • i would pay big money for this... AMAZING

  • That's hella awsome! I want one!

  • id pick one of these over a korg pitch black i like the multi string idea that way you don't have to test each string. Great for us lazy folk who don't like to tune ;)

  • Ahahahahah.

    Great review.

  • i want one!

  • wow i want one

  • damn!

  • Woah! When does this thing come out I want it?!

  • Want.

  • Pretty weird. I like the magic marker - nice.

  • pretty damn cool

  • If there is a list to get this I want on it! This is fantastic!

  • damn that is a good good thing. pity my guitar is baritone :( you think it would work or have a fit?

  • It would work.

  • wow !! neat !!

  • go to the TC electronic website...the first picture is the polytune...no info yet...wait till NAMM

  • I wish I didn't buy the boss tuner now.

  • Unfortunately, I don't think it'll work well for 7+ stringed guitars or alternate tunings. Great concept though.

  • hahaha i didn't think of that

  • @ nght5tlkr:

Indeed. So it's useless to me. Nevertheless, I want to know who made this! Love me some mysteries!

  • @nght5tlkr

He shows how is works for alternate tunings in the video...

  • A half step down isn't my idea of alternate tuning.

  • i want one so damn bad figure out who makes it and how i can get one!

  • track the darn UPS number

  • @25sounds haha .. but yeah do

  • Very cool. I need that tuner!

  • How does it do with with 12 strings I wonder.

  • That's gonna be expensive.

  • i think it's from TC Electronics

  • so bad ass.. I wouldnt be surprised if it were gibson.

  • Its awesome that i saw this in a Guitar World mag yesterday and today its on the Proguitarshop
