I saw the movie and I was totally bummed out! IT SUCKED!!! They barely kept to the book at all! I bored my grandpa with a whole list of things that they either left out or changed completely! But they picked some of the characters out ok like Farid, Mo, Meggie, and Fenoglio...but that was about it.

i read the book and saw the movie, the movie is so different There was no to do in the book or Flying monkeys or Ticking Alligator and at the end Dustfinger goes back into the book in the movie but in the book he stays in the real world because he thinks that he has to punish himself for being selfish

Well, movie's don't USUALLY get made from books when they're new. Take Twilight, for example. It was published in 05, and it's only being made into a movie now, 2 more books later. Inkheart wasn't published THAT long before Twilight, so it's not all that unbelievable. And I'm not sure how you can judge how the movie is compared to the book when there's, what, maybe 2 trailers in existance?

I watched them filming a scene of this film behind Shepperton film studios in Surrey, and they had a massive house set up with a pile of books outside with were on fire, then they all got into a old van sorta thing, and I saw most of the actors in the film.
