  • Was sorry to hear Mick had passed away; I'd like to have met him, or better still, to have had the chance to play music with him. Nice at least to appeared in this video (I'm the one with strange eyebrows and sideburns with the fighting girls!). It was a fun day! Well done to Adam for pulling it off. And yes, Invisible Hands loved it, as I recall.

  • Flawed or not, I enjoy this piece of artwork at least once a month for the last 2 years.

  • R.I.P Mick

  • An excellent shoot... i just cannot understand the reluctance of the management team as the visuals totally compliment the feel of the music.

  • love the claustrophobic, slow mo feel to this video. it suits Mick's music well. I think it also brings out a sinister quality to the music.

  • magic mick forget the critics

  • Mick is seriously ill, please donate to his appeal here:

    mickkarn.net

  • love nick karn works he inspired m e to play bass thank u man T-T

  • JAMMY.

don't be so hard on yourself

  • I don't think this video is flawed. It is what it is, which is an interesting and arresting visual document. I would have done a few things a bit differently, but that would be my vision, not that of the artist, or artists, involved.

  • I've seen this chick in something else she's an actress in some indi thing i know ive seen it

  • yeah agreed. very twin peaks

  • David Lynch should have Mick score a film of his.

  • i love it. you dont get any better than this. i think the video is really unerving to go with the vibe of the song as well

  • Mick Karn, Percy Jones and Jaco Pastorious are my faves. This tune is great, I hear nothing wrong with it at all. The video is pretty lame though.

  • Mick's grooves are the only thing carrying the tune. I couldn't jam this in the car or anything. I can see why it flopped but it is still a good listen and am glad that adamcoop shared this. Thank you adamcoop!

  • Mick & David have been more about the art than the accessibility, which is what makes them more 'true' artists. I LOVE to see stuff that isn't simply what the record companies see as PRODUCT.

  • First time hearing this Mark hope its good, Am a david sylvian fan so I should enjoy it

  • The best fretless bass player ever!

    Superb stuff!

  • I'm not sure about that ,Mik Sweeney is up there with him

  • bare in mind among all the accolades, most people here would have loved to have seen cutaways of bass playing, usually. so what you did was very attractive.

  • the blokes at the japan pioneers list on yahoo would love to hear about your experiences especially C. Maidment from mick karn's fan page.

  • Unfortunately we had no access to Mick or indeed any musicians or band members for the shoot, otherwise it would have been nice to have a cameo appearance at least.

  • Excellent!!Mick its just one step forward about bass concept. Pure art expression, one of a kind. Music from an artist, not only a skilled bassist. Thanks Mick!

  • que alegria saber que te gusta.

  • I don't think this is a failed experiment at all. any experiment which you can learn from is progressive. Besides, Mick Karn is always fun to hear, the coolest mix of styles ever!! Check out Polytown with Terry Bozzio and David Torn!! Holy Crap you will love it!!! Freaky!! Freaky!!!

  • Glad you like it. I dont think it was a failed experiment, but just that it didnt turn out quite as intended, mainly due to a lack of time and budget. I had really wanted to do a one shot promo for some time, and this came up at really short notice (3 days) with a tiny budget (£600), and we kind of choreographed it on the day with the people who had turned up. One of the people in the video is actually the head of the record label... Funny thing is, Mick's management really didnt like it!.

  • management being? the same blokes that make him play second trier acts , friends with tsichuya or not.

  • dont remember... got "feedback" through the record label, invisible hands music. They liked it, his management didnt...?

  • What a fuckin bassline this is!!!!-MONSTER!

  • thats seriously good the visuals are very unerving to go with the music

  • Mick Karn is awesome. This is a good video for his style. I don't see how it is "flawed."

  • i love mick karn so talented and original

  • I actually really enjoyed this, it's about time Mick's music was accompanied by some interesting visuals!

  • Sublime music. Thanks for posting!

  • yeah Mick Karns new stuff is all really good too. check out his myspace
