Wow - what a duo. Two super artists with loads of talent to spare. I love this song - it's such a great classic and means a lot to me personally..Emmylou and John have such unique voices, so unforgettable, and anything either of them sings is a winner. Thank you for posting this treasure. - Paula
My wife and I have seen John 11 times and have all of his music. He's the real deal. Nothing fancy. Stands on stage and sings his songs. One of a kind. Pure. And he can rock with best of them! Last and most important, he's a very decent human being. An American Treasure to our way of thinking!
Nothing to do with the music, but Emmylou is the only woman I know of that gets better looking with age. Don't know what she's got, but she oughta bottle & sell it. Sings great too.
I love Emmylou, and this is a wonderful rendition of this old song, but minus the technological improvements in sound production, Dolly Parton's version with Porter Wagoner is a cut above Emmylou's in vocal expression. Seldom do I ever put anyone above Emmylou, but in this instance, Dolly shows the qualities that propelled her to stardom and has kept her there for over half a century.
Beautiful duet, one of the best ever. John sings great harmony. George Jones had the original hit record, a solo version with the title "Just a Girl I Used to Know"; Porter & Dolly also did this song well.
@TheGruntking Last year I got acall from a man I hadn't seen in 16 years. I never stopped loving him. We are still seeing each other. I hope you and your someone are as happy as we are. god bless.
If you didn't know it was John Anderson, you would swear it was George Jones, particularly on his solo vocal. This song brings out the country singer in me as I sit at my computer, joining in with Emmylou. Too bad she got away from doing ballads like this.
Great song, by two great people.....

I have always secretly suspected I could kiss Emmylou to death, but always had too much respect for her to try it.

John Anderson did a very good backup in this song, he was great. He tuned in great and had the right voice and tune for it. I love it.

I have the album and love this song. It reminds me so much of duets with Gram, and I wonder if that's intentional.
