I am looking into adopting an umbrella cockatoo but i need to learn a hole lot more about them! If you know about owning a cockatoo please inbox me or reply to this post. Some questions are like where can i get one? Who are good breeders? What do they eat and dont eat? What toys are good and bad, size of cage...ect!!
Also what kinds of cockatoos are there...silly question i know :P
does he ever bite you if he did or has stopped, how did you get him to stop? What kind of training method did you use. I have an indian ringneck and occasionall he try's to chew on my finger's and im trying to teach him to stop becuase he has a sharp beak.
@860175 Birds, as all animals, will definitely try to defend themselves if they feel threatened. I saw your video on Bluey (beautiful bird!) and baby birds will bite or chew just like puppies. Tell him sternly, "No!" when he tries to bite. You might try quickly blowing in his face (they don't like that) or, if he is on your hand, jerking your hand downward. The quick motion will make him unbalanced.
give him toys bc wood can cill him
