  • Jackson Katz is beefy and intelligent, i want to be like him

  • Great video, positive message! Thanks for posting

  • The reason why women are so heavily impacted by our 'roles models' in the media is because we have scant other influences due to our lack of history. OUR Einsteins were denied education, OUR Da Vinci's were denied recognition... all we have are actresses and models FFS

  • Women and men are both being turned into trash in this garbage culture.

  • oh boy,more male bashing

  • @evelsteev translation: herp a derp

  • feminists are pushing to have the ability to sell there body legally, without needing a pimp. Not much of a man problem.

  • New wave feminism considers this video to be "slut-shaming."

  • @pqwilrj lol I hate that more than anything, it's not positive nor is it empowering.

  • @pqwilrj As a new wave feminist, I do not find this video to be slut shaming. It asks whether corporate-driven media offers us a one-dimensional view of women, and the answer is that it does. In fact, I find the term "slut-shaming" to be a buzz phrase that perpetuates a stereotype about women, that our power comes about only through being sexual.

  • Nor did I want to mention it before since I think we're getting really offtopic now, but the guys in advertising are just as made up, airbrushed, and artificially lit as the women. Looks healthy to you, is actually just as impossible to attain in reality. That's the whole idea. Beckham has more core definition in that Armani campaign than Schwarzenegger ever had in twenty years of body building. Impossible goals are given to all of us. Try making a career out of crime like the rappers suggest.

  • @Yoyothemighty "Pretending that we only want women to be attractive[...]"

Nobody argued that. There is more pressure on women to be attractive. This is indisputable.

"Beckham has more core definition in that Armani campaign than Schwarzenegger ever had in twenty years of body building."

He did that by eating healthy and exercising, not by starving himself to death, spending millions on makeup and fashion devices, or getting surgery. This culture's male ideal is healthier than its female ideal.

  • Oh and btw, instead of focusing on the ten comedians with television shows each year, it would probably be more helpful to consider the fact that attractive people of both sexes earn more for the same work. Pretending that we only want women to be attractive just doesn't cut it. Even heterosexual male employers are more likely to employ an attractive male over an unattractive one.

  • The only reasons that immediately occur to me for that to be the case are one, that sex sells documentaries about sexism as well as it sells anything else, or two, that the real problem is much more difficult to discuss as it actually challenges societal structures in a way that 'everyone should be equal' does not.

  • No most men in ads just look stupid. If you're not a sports star with a body like a greek god youre an overgrown manchild or a family man with no common sense who depends on his wife to put his shoes on the right feet... which is the same thing really. I'm not really talking about how each sex is represented in advertising though, I'm talking about the fact that this treats the actual problem as secondary.

  • I'm not using the phrase to refer to male/female relationships either. I'm using it in the sense that it is more commonly used these days, i.e, applies to everything we do.

  • Here's a junk hypothesis to think about if you're even actually interested in what I mean by that:

Anytime a culture develops an aphorism like 'nice guys finish last' that culture is going to see abuses against vulnerable elements within it and increased crime rates. The environmental conditions that allow such a phrase to formulate also encourage such behaviours.

  • I'm starting to sound like I'm whining about some kind of imagined cultural misandry, but I'm not trying to. I just think that this is not the main cause of the problem. The real problem is right there in the rap video section. Teaching young people to admire sociopathic behaviour is obviously going to cause more sociopathic behaviour than teaching young people that they should be sexually attractive. It's most definitely not just rap videos either, it's endemic to our entire culture.

  • I view true misogyny as beating, raping, molesting, and assaulting women with the intent of domination, power, or superiority. I don't think that a woman who willingly models for sports illustrated or Victoria's secret, or participates in a hyper sexual rap video is an act of misogyny at all, besides, it's our imperatives to want to mate, have sex, and reproduce anyway, so whats the big fucking deal?

  • Furthermore, just because your primary thought when you see a womans body is sex (and all the reasons that's bad) doesn't change the fact that some of the women in the video are making more money for those photo shoots than you have seen in your life to date.

You're thinking sex, she's thinking business, who is in control? Not hard to figure

out why she could buy and sell your entire life.

  • Besides, is Brad Pitt a role model, taking off his shirt and showing off a sixpack in every other film? How many teenage boys would have liked to look like him? Sex is a powerful motivator, and most PEOPLE would like to be attractive enough to get whatever we want, not just most women.

  • @Yoyothemighty First, while almost all young female celebrities are expected to have the standard body type, there is a much wider range of male body types in pop culture. Most look more like Kevin James than Brad Pitt. Second, if I want to get that body, what do I have to do? Since he doesn't have a steroid body, I only have to eat well and exercise in moderation. If a woman wants to get the kind of body this culture approves of she has to starve, spend tons of money and time, and get surgery.

  • @kissfan7 It's impossible to deny that attractiveness has had no impact on Brad Pitt being far more successful, enduring, and admired than Kevin James. 'Sex sells' is no platitude. It may not be nice, but it's a fact of life for ALL of us. I mean if we're using models as an example of objectification in the video, check out any Armani campaign for male fragrances and clothing lines.

  • @Yoyothemighty James may be less popular, but we're talking general trends. The trend is that it's a lot easier for men who don't have a hot bod to be successful than it is for a woman with a normal body. Just look at all of the shows with the "hot wife + ugly guy" formula: "Everybody Loves Raymond", "The Drew Carey Show", "According to Jim", "The George Lopez Show", "The King of Queens", "My Name is Earl", "Still Standing", "Curb Your Enthusiasm", "Modern Family", and that's just modern ones.

  • @Yoyothemighty By pointing out just Armani, you're not looking at the big picture. Most men in ads don't look like that. The reason those stand out is because we're so bombarded with commercials featuring average or mediocre guys that we only notice the exceptions. Besides, Armani has impossible-looking women in their ads. They're the exception that proves the rule.

Again, compared to the starved, botoxed, cut up in surgury, implanted Armani woman, the men's bodies appear possible and healthy.

  • This whole thing has such a male perspective. 'I don't regard my appearance as a source of empowerment, my appearance doesn't affect my self esteem, women should be more like me'. Maybe you shouldn't be enforcing your values on women.

  • I think you both fail to see the point. I wouldn't deny for a second that our society treats all with inequality. Men and women are treated differently, and not for the better of either. This documentary talks about misogyny, something that is undoubtedly a problem in this society. These issues are bigger than pointing fingers and saying "they do it too". There's no reason for the insecure retaliation and finger pointing if you aren't misogynistic and don't buy into sexism.

  • Thank you for making me realize that just because I am approaching 30, there is no need to commit suicide... I look to the women on SNL, comics, and authors to keep me from total self contempt. I grew up blonde, skinny, voluptuous... and now have trouble realizing that even though I have held intelligence as a majorly important thing, my naivety kept me from realizing it was never appreciated, as my ideals have not changed... but only my body...

  • This is total horseshit. Women have a brain these days. Quit fucking men over with these allegations. Women don't do a damn thing they don't want to. There are women who are abused by men but that doesn't mean everything thing we see today is due to abusive and uneducated men.

  • @stephen2000306 That part only explains how our society is apathetic towards or even in favorable of media representation of violence against women, which only downplays the real thing, if not inciting it further. There are no allegations here, you and only you made the conclusion that everything is due to uneducated men. Quite contrary, the men behind this kind of media know exactly how to manipulate people, their emotions, desires, goals, etc... and they're rich because of it.

  • Cool story, bro

  • This Dr would have more time well spent if he looked at Misandy in western culture, it's much more prevalent and aggresive.

  • @seroeth hahahahahahahaha oh my god that's so untrue

  • @ooO00oO0 it very much is, it's just that being abusive towards men is deemed acceptable in modern culture and therefore not studied properly. you're just following the status quo without researching the other side, and you know it!

  • @seroeth explain to me how misandry in western culture is more prevalent and aggressive then. in my experience abuse towards men is never tolerated, but when women are mistreated they generally don't defend themselves (and neither does anyone else) because that is what's expected of them by society. it's pretty sad and disgusting. and by the way i'm not talking about physical abuse. i'm talking about women being objectified and humiliated.

  • @ooO00oO0 i cant exactly explain in 500 characters, i can offer you small documentaries like "misandry, men are disposable". its not the best quality production but it does an excellent job in getting the point accross. Check it out, there are four parts i advise you watch them all. you will soon see what the feminist movement has done to our society.

  • @seroeth wow thank you for helping me prove my point even further. why do you think there are fewer female police officers, firefighters, and soldiers? because society tells us that women are weak. that documentary failed to mention that women hardly ever have leading roles in movies. when a group of women is the focus of a movie, all they talk about is men. and another thing that was completely overlooked is that movies are primarily written, directed, and produced by MEN. you're an idiot

  • @ooO00oO0 at no point during these conversations have i ever said women dont face serious problems in this world, this goes to show exactly how well you have been trained to percieve any argument as an attack on women. I was just trying to point out that there is a counter culture that attacks men, and that this counter culture is completely ignored because our culture is far too busy focusing on womens issues. and by the way, reverting to insults is done by idiots, not the other way round!

  • @seroeth i wasnt reverting to anything. you did say that misandry is more prevalent than misogyny, which is completely untrue. yes there are people who attack men specifically, but far fewer than the makers of that documentary would like for you to believe. apparently the "counter culture that attacks men" isn't completely ignored. that ridiculous documentary you directed me to is proof. and by the way, dont tell me what i've been "trained" to do or how i perceive things

  • @ooO00oO0 and why exactly is that documentary rediculous? is it pehaps because your trained brain is more used to higher budget productions, like the ones that are pumped out by the subsidised feminist propoganda machine. Just becasue it wasnt some glitzy programme broadcast on the BBC does not mean its content is untrue. And ill say what i like, freedom of speech n all that.

  • @seroeth you say my brain is "trained" as if everyone's isnt, including yours. you dont know what my brain is "trained" to think. and by the way this video isnt glitzy or high budget either is it? but im defending it anyway. money has absolutely nothing to do with this. oh and you can say what you like, but it doesnt change the fact that you dont know shit about the way i think and perceive things

  • @ooO00oO0 your statement “as if everyone's isnt, including yours” is an empty statement, as I was being specific with regards to what you have been trained to believe. And if you think the feminist movement has nothing to do with money then you are sorely mistaken, as well as ignorant when it comes to a working knowledge on the cause you appear to be so in favor of. Im also sure I have a pretty good grasp of how you think based on the exchanges we’ve been having. the word biased comes to mind.

  • @seroeth i wasnt talking about the feminist movement. my opinion of that stupid documentary about misandry has nothing to do with money. you're obviously biased, but of course you won't ever realize that. arguing with you is pointless because you're absolutely retarded so stop bothering me and filling up my inbox with bullshit.

  • @ooO00oO0 I’m seeing a lot of words, but no coherent argument, just insults, have a nice life in your cloudland daydream world, run by women of course.

  • LOOkng: I disagree...your comment demeans men by assuming that men will simply drool over women without critical thought whatsoever, and your comment also assumes that we can have productive dialoges about the imagery of pop culture WITHOUT viewing the imagery of pop culture...and THAT is what's idiotic my friend.

  • Unfortunately there will be many men who get sexually aroused watching this because of the images so it will have the opposite effect that we want it to. They should have thot this thru better. Another video done by this same company about violence on TV says this. This is like putting up billboards with giant pictures of crack cocaine and telling addicts not to use. It's totally idiotic.

  • So those young 'women' on Glee or the sluts from Gossip Girl that did photos of two girls licking a melting ice-cream are 'innocent victims'? They know exactly what they are doing... and just like the corporations that own these young shameless ( and talentless ) whores they will do anything for MONEY. Do all these horrible, useless 'role-models' know or fucking care that it is children watching their shows. Young girls have no shame now, they're like sheep.

  • Hollywood and US Media are nothing but brainwash mashines, to keep Sheeple stupefied by sexualized imagery while US economy is collapsing. Also, the hatred of women in Media is a result of Hatred of women by men, because women are getting more and more Equal Rights, by the day, it's a backlash by weakened males. It's OK: China will take over this land of hate, and Hollywood will be HISTORY, and be destroyed. VIVA China--LIFE SENTENCE to Chinese pornographer. US pornographers-THIS IS YOUR FATE

  • @zaniellify oh my got what a specimen...how can you get more equal rights?

  • 42 people who disliked the video are full of Hatred of women. I wish you to just die and go off the face of Earth. Sorry about you if you come across me anywhere with your misogynist views.

  • I hope this doco follows the money and not just 'men'.

Corporate profits are at the heart of this.

  • I am so grateful for the hard work that you guys are doing. I really believe women and men need to stop this gender war, cause both misogyny and misandry are destroying both genders.

  • I don't think the portrayal of women as sex objects has anything remotely related to violence against women.

  • @psycopathicteen

    psychopathic teen. 'Nuf said.

  • @SpazzzDog You know well there is no "man-bashing" going on here, and that is not even relatively the point of this documentary. It isn't about gender waring like children on a playground. You're the one bringing up men this and that. You look at a piece of work like this, and immediately you feel angry and becoming defensive, and feel the need to defend something you shouldn't have to defend. That says something about your insecurities, and is telling of a guilty conscience.

  • The only reason Eminem is still alive is because Dr. Keith wanted to make this video.

  • Dr. Keith doesn't eat cereal for breakfast, he eats abusive men.

  • I'm going to say something to make you hate me permanately. For 1, one common thing that people yell and rant about if men hitting women and domestic abuse, but why? So many more people hate women battery than those who don't that it causes me to wonder why people talk about it like it's an everyday thing;like it's actually still a problem in American society. Sure, women abuse probably goes on in private in a lot of places, but not enough that people should fear it it in modern day culture.

  • I think this video needs to be made in every language and shown to everyone on the planet. Small steps make a difference. Great video.

  • The focus of this video is clearly about how women are objectified and dehumanized through the depictions of women in media. This is certainly an issue we need to look at as it has its ill consequences. it's trying to get across messages to public, but I do not think women are getting the help they needed. So the issue about whether men is getting help for their probs is irrelevant, isn't it? @SpazzzDog are men facing the same probs in the media too, I ask?

  • 39 people are eminem fans

  • I wish documentaries like these would be broadcast across the mainstream.

  • Correct on the points that he discussed in the film. He was straight to the point.

It is a testiment and bit of hope that he made this documentary.

  • bitches and hoes. nice wording...

  • what is the song beginning 4:49.. does anyone know.?? i would like to download it

  • Not that this isn't important, but boys and young men are doing much worse than their female counterparts. Why aren't we worried about our males?

  • @SpazzzDog they are but there is a larger women target.

  • @mollykjody We should help based upon who needs it more. Boys need a lot more help than girls.

  • @SpazzzDog men women we human beings all need help!

  • @mollykjody Then why are men and boys not receiving the help they need?

  • @SpazzzDog I am not too sure why. There seems like there are so many problems all over the world. It is tough. I guess it begins with yourself as the change the world needs. Just know better, be aware, conscious, and make smart decisions. Now we know.

  • @SpazzzDog What help are they in need of? Academic? And if so, is that a fault of discrimination, media, or societal pressures or expectations holding them back? How and where do you figure that they "need more help"?

  • @nta214 Pretty much in every major area of life. Don't live as long, at higher risk of being victim of violence. Poorer education, which leads to poorer employment; higher suicide rate; over 90% on the job deaths are men; virtually 100% of deaths in war; no protection against women who steal their sperm (no reproductive rights); much less spending on male specific diseases; genital mutilation (if it was about hygiene we'd be cutting our daughters too), and more but I'm running out of space. :)

  • @SpazDog "Men are more likely to smoke, unhealthy diet, be overweight, expose themselves to the sun, be alcoholic, be registered addicts, but half as likely as women to visit their GP. Overall can expect to live 5 years less than women." Education is an equal opportunity, men still make up more of the work force, work longer hours and higher paying jobs (yes more dangerous). More women attempt suicide, and the military claim is absolutely false.

  • @nta214 Womens heath funding is necessary because the general science practiced has traditionally been partial to men and found to be inaccurate and sometimes irrelevant to womens health. Not even sure how to comment on the rest of your statements, I think you're reaching.

  • @nta214 Yes, but modern medicine is a long way away from that. It's now time to start putting more money in to male specific diseases and not just female specific diseases. The rest of my grievances are valid. The only reason why they feel like stretching to you is because you have never considered them. You have the assumption that all men do not deserve any special attention for the problems they face as a class.

  • @nta214 @nta214 Yes, but modern medicine is a long way away from that. It's now time to start putting more money in to male specific diseases and not just female specific diseases. The rest of my grievances are valid. The only reason why they feel like stretching to you is because you have never considered them. You have the assumption that all men do not deserve any special attention for the problems they face as a class.

  • @nta214 Women choose to buy fashion and read all those magazines. So does that mean the effects it has on them is irrelevant? No, it's still worthy of consideration. So is men's health, even if it's due to their choices of food. Education is targeted to help women and has been excluding men by treating normal male behavior as dysfunctional. Men often have no choice but take dangerous jobs, why not try to make them safer?

  • @SpazzzDog I didn't say the effects of mens health from their life choices were irrelevant. The point was mens lifestyles choices are not due to societies lack of care or concern. Elaborate on "treating normal male behavior as dysfunctional", sounds pretty radical. Who's saying job safety isn't a priority with most employers? And they aren't ignoring safety based on gender. Women until now (currently in limbo) weren't allowed to fight hand to hand combat.

  • Comment removed

  • @nta214 Women do attempt more suicides, but that is a separate problem. Men are still dying from suicide so it's still a crisis specific to men which demands attention. Only a few hundred service women have died in Iraq. Thousands of service men have died in Iraq. Historically, women have never been drafted in to war, men have.

  • @SpazzzDog Because there are too many man-bashing feminist in our society.

  • Thank you for the video, we don't need to be genius to see degradation of the society and not only American... Europenian, Russian... etc etc

But I have one question: where is the data got from in the end of the video?

    Thank you

  • Patriarchy at it's finest(sickest).

  • @deafcon4 If this comment is aimed at the man who made this film, it is one of the more sexist comments I have read here, and I am a young, female feminist. The film is about media and society, not a criticism of women.

  • @nuwavegrl No,my it is not aimed at the filmmaker. It was aimed directly at the media, and the way it portrays women.I am merely saying that the way the media and popular culture look at women falls directly in line with the sickest nature of patriarchy.Which I despise.

  • These women DO NOT have to take the photos nor do they have to take their clothes off in movies or take on sexual roles. They CHOOSE to do these things. They choose fortune and fame over morality. They know what kind of life style they are getting into. I feel no pity or empathy for people like them. Choose a career where you will not have to use your looks to advance. It's a simple solution. Stop feeling sorry for women who CHOOSE to partake in sexual degradation. They chose to. That's that.

  • @multiquantumcheck

"Someone who does not agree with feminism by default agrees with sexism and misogyny."

    That is illogical and stupid.

It's the same as saying that someone who disagrees with christianity by default agrees with immorality.

You're just plain stupid. And you're outclassed. When are you going to face up to your inferiority?

  • @vbritsi

If the Christianity were synonymous with morality, then someone who would not disagree with Christianity would by default agree with immorality. However, Christianity is not synonymous with morality.

Knuckle-dragging misogynistic neanderthal, please stay away from children.

  • @vbritsi

It is patently obvious that when ignorance and depravity have an orgy, a little fool is always the one caught in the headlights. And lobotomizes troglodytes do not wish to be held accountable for their own miseducation or lack thereof. And like any group of depraved and anti-social scum, your and your “oppressed” straight white brohers might wish to generate your own definitions of words, but it is time to leave the carousel of denial and face the music.

  • Masculinist = "an advocate of male superiority or dominance " (Merriam Webster Dictionary)

Antifeminist = “Characterized by ideas or behavior reflecting a disbelief in the economic, political, and social equality of the sexes” (American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language)

Feminism = "the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes" (Merriam Webster Dictionary)

  • Feminism = "the principle that women should have political, economic, and social rights equal to those of men" (yourdictionary)

Feminism = "the advocacy of women’s rights on the grounds of sexual equality"(AskOxford)

Feminism = "belief and aim that women should have the same rights, power, and opportunities as men" (google dictionary)

Someone who does not agree with feminism by default agrees with sexism and misogyny.

  • @multiquantumcheck

I think this is unfair. What the sites you use to define feminism and what feminism actually stand for may change from person to person, from situation to situation.

Not all feminists are the same, and not all feminists ideology represent what your sources define as feminism. Disagreeing with certain feminist ideology is not sexist and misogynistic by itself, that's just a way to keep people from disagreeing with you and preventing rational discussion without being demonized

  • "Over 200,000 cases of rape annually"

The FBI reports rape and attempted rape in one category. The annual number in the US has been closer to 90,000 for the last five years. This documentary should not include false numbers as facts. Unreported cases of rape have been estimated and should be presented as estimated.

  • Another female-only product. Lots of money is made by treating women like irresponsible children with the old line "You poor thing, someone will help you." The DVD title should be : "Misogynistic Treatment of Smart Women in America"

Women watch the majority of TV hours. Advertisers know this and make programs specifically for women and the personal power they can wield by purchasing product A over F.

  • @vbritsi

    Vbristsi responds to Vbritsi:

"Hey idiot, you prove me right over and over again."

If this isn't psychosis then what is?

  • @multiquantumcheck

Funny how someone with histrionic personality disorder likes to accuse others of psychological issues.

It's ironic because you are someone who, besides being annoyingly stupid, would definitely fit an Axis 2 diagnosis. You may even have several personality disorders, possibly including borderline personality disorder.

Bottom line is, those who live in glass houses.........

  • @vbritsi

A knuckle-dragging degenerate like you probably thinks that phrenology is a science and that homosexuality is still considered deviant by the DMS.

Paraphilia is more than a personality quirk, elderly misogynistic pervert. You may continue to cuddle your mother's underwear, but your gusto for adolescent rape porn is truly disturbing. Beside your tendency to talk to yourself, your misogyny, depravity, and complete and utter idiocy.

  • @vbritsi

I will admit that depraved straight white men who describe themselves as "masculinists" = "advocate[s] of male superiority or dominance" (Merriam Webster Dictionary) find me and other people who fight for equality very disagreeable. Somehow I live with that shame.

  • Oh and:

Masculinist = "an advocate of male superiority or dominance " (Merriam Webster Dictionary)

Antifeminist = “Characterized by ideas or behavior reflecting a disbelief in the economic, political, and social equality of the sexes” (American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language)

  • @multiquantumcheck

"I will admit that depraved straight white men who describe themselves as "masculinists""

Funny thing is, nobody on here describes themselves as a "masculinist." You're just creating another strawman argument, at which you're very profuse.

BTW, you're an idiot and you always will be. That's the god's honest truth.

  • @1WhoSeeks

Thank you for making me aware of this video!

It is quite common for depraved misogynistic neanderthals known as "masculinists" = "advocates of male superiority or dominance" (Merriam Webster Dictionary" to believe that those who do not hate, hurt, and oppress women are "bitches."

  • Art imitates life people. If women are being portrayed negatively in the media, then maybe women should lift their standards.

  • @1WhoSeeks

Since all systems of representing life are controlled by straight white men and used to negatively portray anyone who is not a straight white men, you should depraved misogynistic neanderthal should check your "argument."

  • @multiquantumcheck Fail.

  • Excellent ! So happy someone has stepped up to the table for a vulgar society ... haw sad We have become .. thank You for shining the LIGHT so bright ... blessings Angel x

  • @vbritsi

Misogynistic old neanderthal, once you manage to disentangle your tongue from Rush Limbaugh's rectum, you may discover that Nazism was a distinctly male "movement" which emphasized physical strength, military power, and domination while feminism is the "the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes." (Merriam Webster Dictionary) Ditto head, it is time to realize that your love of racist and misogynistic men like Rush Limbaugh has been exposed.

  • Also:

Masculinist = "an advocate of male superiority or dominance " (Merriam Webster)

Feminism = "the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes" (Merriam Webster)

Feminism = "the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men" (dictionary)

  • @multiquantumcheck

Are you capable of saying anything intelligent?

  • @vbritsi

    Degenerate misogynistic troglodyte, sure.

Masculinist = "an advocate of male superiority or dominance " (Merriam Webster Dictionary)

Antifeminist = “Characterized by ideas or behavior reflecting a disbelief in the economic, political, and social equality of the sexes” (American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language)

Someone who does not agree with feminism by default agrees with sexism and misogyny.

  • To "Hzqi" you are not a man. So stop using big vocabulary to compensate for the intellect and maturity that you lack. This is a not a man vs woman thing as the phenomenon being discussed in the videos is a social and cultural problem. You sound like a very little man; take that anyway you want.

  • Comment removed

  • @vbritsi Ahaa, so men could never care about equality and the health of women? If they do, they're just douche-bags who want to get laid. Interesting. Then men could live with other men and have relationships with them, as well as women who could have relationships with other women. Is that better?

  • @graleh Whoa, you didn't have to get angry!

Just to be clear, I was referring to women who defend pornography and prostitution and use every sexist woman-hating excuse for doing so (such as the idea that former porn actresses supposedly "fake" their experiences and really enjoy it) and then call themselves feminists. That's what irritates me.

  • @Scifimaster92 Angry? I am not. You don't have to translate my reply as angry ;D. OK.. I haven't met those women I guess. But I have met some women who think that being with men (for a woman) is treason XD. But often, those women has been raped as kids and now hate all men.. and that's very sad.

  • @graleh I'm actually quite surprised that you haven't met these individuals yet. I often find that most YouTubers seem to support these industries rather than doing their part to oppose it. Sorry if I seem a bit paranoid, but recently I was harassed by a troll who kept blabbering on about how those who claim to be harmed by the sex industry do so only for the fame, even after I told her to stop it.

  • @graleh Also, I obviously thought originally that your response to vbritsi was a response to my comment.

  • @graleh

WTF? I'm not criticizing anyone who genuinely cares about women.

I'm calling Thomas Keith a lying douchebag because that's what he is. He doesn't care about the truth at all.

  • @vbritsi That`s because he is a lying douchebag. Women are too easily fooled.

  • Misogyny, sexism, is also found in our own (American) public policies, especially in the family law system, and welfare system, with corrupt "Fatherhood Funding" and corrupt "Marriage-Funding/Faith-Based"....all code words for sexism. Until we change public policy, there is NO moving-forward!

  • So.... pretty much everything wrong with women is men's faults....Got it.

  • it's nice t hear that somebody still cares about us thankyou for this video. No we don't have good role models for sure

  • "Dr." Katz, please shut up. I refuted practically everything you said in "Tough Guise". You are a joke.

  • The problem here is the premise of cause and effect: Eminem sings an offensive song, therefore, we have domestic violence and sexual assault. It is simply not reasonable to argue that images and ideas within the cultural marketplace lead to actions. Nor is it fair to suggest that a specific demographic group (men) will become batterers and rapists simply because they have been exposed to such images and ideas. Let's address these issues without the politics of radical feminism.

  • @rogead

Have you ever heard of Social Learning Theory by Bandura?

Green minds watch their heroes rapping about bitches and hoes and this is precisely how they learn.

  • I like this. Whenever there is a video about misogyny, misogynists and masculinists flock to it purple with rage and claiming such things "Misogyny is justified" "Women are unimportant and will always be".

But strangely, I believe women are actually the only current perpetrators of true misogyny nowadays. As long as women will submit to fashion so readily, accept vapid actresses as their role models and endorse the idea that frivolity=femininity, they shall remain secondary beings indeed.

  • @alrune8

    Thank you.

  • Thank you Dr. Keith for illuminating a very important subject. No, it's not just a women vs. men issue, violence against gender affects everyone and misogyny is at the root of that violence. How do we get this unflagged? It should be viewable to everyone and shown in schools to create an awareness.

  • @sparklechickie I can not believe how easily you people are brainwashed.

  • i have seen many respectful men turn into complete womanizing assholes by the very same women that mistreated them and left them for one of these "thug" types. Not the guy's fault. Apparently, majority of females in America are highly attracted to this sort of thing. Everybody has the power to make these positive changes but nobody ever does. So forget hope. It's not gonna happen.

  • @tmsbnds I have seen women choose thugs over nice guys too and it is really unfortunate when that happens because it tells men that good guys finish last, while reinforcing the idea women are not really looking to upgrade the quality of men they desire. But I am more hopeful that some of these trends are changing. I see far more women today choosing good guys as the whole thug-gangsta thing is starting to fade out of pop culture.

  • @nuwavegrl bad guys com in all shapes and sizes..not all bad guys look like thugs. Thats a stereo type. The most well dressed men can still be a bad guy. It just takes longer to notice. Eventually true colors after the woman has been drawn in.

  • i don't think the media's role in female sexual empowerment has much to do with wanting to please men. if anything, due to my personal experience with interaction and interviewing a few more honest women, it seems more like an oddly misplaced sense of self esteem that uses sexuality as a means of extracting material gain from their target (men) whether than trying to find real love.

  • @tmsbnds

    "a few more honest women"

Yes, so many deceitful wicked temptresses and so few 'honest' women!

Your misogyny and delusion can be SEEN from space.

  • @multiquantumcheck i did not make society the way it is. society made me the way it wants me to be

  • @tmsbnds

Societal forces are not deterministic. Therefore there is foolish to argue that you have no say in the way 'society made you'.

  • @multiquantumcheck the "society" comment was a joke. you''ve heard it before when some people say "i blame society" while discussing certain issues, yeah?

  • @multiquantumcheck and also, not to mislead, when i refer to "more honest women" i'm refering to women that are very outspoken on their real opinion about everything vs those who usually have to wear a mental mask or simply refuse to speak openly about their true thoughts.

  • @hugoism (continued)

Most of us bite our tongues to gracefully interact. Eminem is open about his thoughts. He puts spotlight on what is swept under rug. He sees an issue and doesn't pretend it's not there. And he is the center of controversy. The lesson? Lie! We all feel things we don't tell others, or even ourselves. Next time you ask how someone feels, wonder if you really want to know. Eminem makes it blatant, where it can be seen and dealt with. Media shows anything for more money.

  • @hugoism

Media disregards anything/anyone but money, being as subtle and deceptive as they need to to sell.

Eminem verbally communicates his opinions. He means this is how he feels about his experiences. His is only one perspective, but it's important: WHY he thinks that way? He sees something wrong, either with a woman or his own anger, and similar thoughts are in other minds. He brings it into the open, addresses issues, anything but subtly.
