Yeah i agree, PM2's handle is a little too big for me as well. The Tenacious fits almost perfectly except for the HUGE belly/palm swell in the handle. I'm actually considering modifying the tenacious so that the spine of the blade is flat like the PM2's, and grinding down the belly on the handle. But I would have to grind down part of the liner lock and I think that might change the locking mechanism a bit...
Awesome video, man! And congrats on your Para2!! I LOVE mine to death, man. Favorite knife of all time, and sharp as a light saber lol! And the Tenacious does have G-10 handle scales, but like Nylon, G-10 has different "grades" The G-10 in the Para2 is a very high quality commercial grade G-10, Tenacious has a very cheap, lower fiber glass content than the Para2's G-10. And the longer handle and the bigger thumb hole is so you can still use it with gloved hands easier (Meant for the military) :)
When I close my Tenacious 1 handed I just put enough pressure on it to get it to unlock but not fall, since you have to put a bit more pressure on it to get it past that certain point.. and then i just move my fingers out of the way and push with my indexfinger and Boom! altoids wallet.. err.. closed knife
The Spyderco Tenacious is a scary knife. I used to carry it tip up, until I cut myself really bad on it. Now I carry it tip down, and the belt clip on the inside palm for the right hand. I mainly use my Spyderco Tenacious for cutting the weed whacker plastic line, and cutting the weeds on the chain-link fence. The blade on the Spyderco Tenacious can take a pretty good beating on a chain-link fence. A few strokes on a diamond knife sharpeners and the kicks on the blade come out.
Hi Duane-- I have a para 2 also and did a lot of research on it including contact with Sal Glesser who invented it. One thing to note is that the compression lock is actually different than a liner lock in more ways than its position. It is actually far stronger because the lock lever is short compared to a liner lock's and will not bend or buckle under stress. Also, that post in front of the lock provides a lot of extra support as the blade is forced against it when pressure is put on spine.
great review Dune , that Paramilitary 2 looks awesome, very nice knife, sorry i didn't comment early i only just found the video becuase youtube subs box has been messing up the last few days.
Nice review/comparison. I also have both and totally agree with your assessment of the knives. I find them excellent for outdoor or tactical applications. I do like both knives but on the whole I normally carry either a Spyderco Persistence or a Boker Exskelibur 2 for EDC. Lighter and smaller in an office environment.
Nice to see a new video of you Duane. Very detailed comparison this was. Very funny that on the Paramilitary knife is written made in the Golden Colorado U.S.A. Earth.
Glad to hear you've been loving the Paramilitary 2. It sure is one hell of a nice knife and a great upgrade from the Tenacious. Thanks for the mention as well.
Hi.I love pm2.I wanna buy this knife with camo and black blade.But I wonder its lock mechanisim is solid ?any bladeplay ?

@ismlshbz
Yes the comprssion lock is rock solid.
There is no up and down blade play, only a tiny bit of side to side play.
Thanks for watching. Peace, Duane

Wow, that looks like a sweet knife, in Australia, spyderco knives retail around $250 dollars each.
