Out of every linux system to date there is a total of 2 trojans, 20 viruses, and 12 worms. How many are on Windows and Mac? It's a lot safer and truthfully yes it does have certain programs that it doesn't do, but I can leave my laptop on for months at a time without it going slow. I barely have to worry about viruses. I don't have to re-install the OS because it's been a couple of months. And it's a free and dependable OS there is a hell of a lot of advantages.
It should actually be the mac that would be bullied, linux is a endless software you can edit everything with it....a pc can track down osama...but what can mac do..oh thats right it can go into twitter
Windows 7 doesn't support certain video cards that are too old, forcing you to go out and spend more money on hardware. Don't be fooled by 'Wintel' into buying new kit every couple of years.
Almost all major Linux distros have WINE/WINE-like programs, so almost all Windows games can be run on most Linux distros. Also, Linux has a number of programs that have all of the functionality of Excel(Arguably less polish though), like Libreoffice. Also, there's entire Linux distros dedicated to video editing.
@HomeInventors Amen !! And another thing you forgot, most people hate Linux because they DO NOT know how to use it, LOL.. I love my Linux OS, =). Gentoo Linux, by far the most stable and fastest one I've used thus far, Slackware, according to some Linux Heads is the hardest one out there, due to the fact, it doesn't have Dependency checking, or something, now a friend tells me nowadays you can get applications for Slack that can get dependencies.
Pssssh... really? People only like it because it hosts servers well? ... I have to say that is pretty sad. How do you have FUN on the damn thing?? Well it's worth about 2 cents, what ya pay for is whatcha get as the PC users say (Which i formerly was).
@jkosloski69 That's not true. Every OS gets viruses. Truth is there is not the same amount of people developing malware for Unix-Based OSs. And yes, Mac is running custom freeBSD kernel :p
@jkosloski69 I said that there is not the same amount of viruses around for Unix-based OSs. Not that Unix-based OSs don't get viruses. Trust me, I've seen viruses in Linux, BSD, Mac. But again, not in the same amount like windows.
@kafrofrite "mac and windows wont be laughing when they get viruses >>and linux doesnt<<" see.. you said it rite there so dont try to tell me you said something different
@jkosloski69 lol, you really think that? So many people are arrogant to that. , mac's do get viruses, I use mac's and I have come across multiple with viruses.
@joc69uk32 Which comment is that too? If its too Linux being better at playing most games, I say that because it is true. Linux is a much more basic operating system, so a computer with it has to load less, so when your computer is running a game, on Linux it has less to load. I don't use Linux. But Linux is less compatible with games and game engines than Windows or Mac. Windows is the best for games in basically every way.
Thats is not the reason, the reason is one Windows is more popular, two Linux and Mac are designed on a more secure engine and computing language. Don't talk about things you don't know about.
thats also a reason. And i know about that, you know apple is not known for safe programming. For example you could jailbreak iOS simply by visiting a website...
@Dottiebarneyandco If you think Mac is virus free cause the os is 'more secure' you are deceiving yourself. A more secure OS is not a completely secure OS. Viruses are made primarily for windows PC's because Windows is more popular. Recently there has been a large number of mac viruses, which makes sense with the increase of mac popularity lately. A computer hacker will only look at a 'more secure' OS as bigger bragging rights, but in no way will it actually make the OS that much more secure.
@rich1051414 Lol, I never said Mac was virus free. I have a Mac with a virus. But it is true. Mac is more secure its was built on a foundation of unix
in the last comment he said exactly the same as i did, except for the second part thats only bullshit, but i think you are just to stupid to recognize that.
BTW what you are saying is the biggest bullshit i've ever heard.
Even although i dont like apple, the first apple was made before windows.
So its easy to see that you are the one who is retarded.
and you don't see a apple 7 anywhere windows led to mac and shit first apple was only a test to see if it was gonna work and it did witch why they made a better version with different features and named it windows
@tisfatman you said mac was a remake of windows, but you agree that the first apple was before windows, so how the fuck can mac be a remake of windows?
@tisfatman Linux wasn't based off of Windows. It was based off of Minix and BSD. It's a unix based operating system. Windows has totally different architecture. On top of that, Mac came out 2 years before Windows and had GUI before Windows. They are three totally different operating systems.
@darkdudironaji Linux NOT based on Minix AND NOT based on bsd AND NOT == operatingsystem ... *triplefacepalm* ... images.retecool.com/uploads/reet-triple-facepalm.jpg
@Krawuzikabuzi666 Linus was trying to create a Minix clone when he created Linux, but I think I may have been thinking of something else when I said BSD. I know it's not an OS. It's a kernel that every Linux distro is built upon. It is the biggest part of the OS, so I, like many others, just refer to it as an OS instead of naming of Arch, Mint, Ubuntu etc.
BTW, the not equal sign is !=
At least it is in most imperative programming languages
