  • OMG. Mark Foster.

  • enybody knew that this tune was made by foster?

  • I play air guitar every time this commercial comes on.

  • Having worked for Chevron as a contractor I find this ad funny. Contract labor and technicians(building contractors included) are on Chevron sites 24/7/365 making money.

  • hahahaha... This must be a joke!

    Brainwashing the average American :/

  • OIL COMPANIES Are COOL, Gas Price Fluctuate because of False Speculation is Right for Gas Prices, Oil Man Bush signing laws allowing 24/7 365 Oil Trading on MYMEX on False Speculation back in 2001 is the Correct Law, Oil Prices at the pump increasing 300% under Oil-Bush is Justified! Chevron naming their oil tanker the USS Condoleezza Rice is Right! Brainwashed Right Wing Idiots!

  • Chevron, your music is amazing! Where can I get the full song from these commercials?

  • @jjoey189 Thank you! The track, "Tazmania" featured in the current We Agree TV was composed, arranged and produced by Mark Foster at Mophonics Studios in Venice, CA. The following instruments were used and all were performed by Mark personally: Piano, Strings, Drums, Bass, Electric Guitar, Celesta, and Kalimba. We hope this helps!

  • Did your profits also go to destroying the indigenous people of Lago Agrio, Ecuador, and their environment? Have you paid the $8,000,000,000 you owe them according to the lawsuit they won?

  • emily is very hot!

  • build some homeless shelters then you liars

  • Does anybody agree Emily is totally hot?

  • Joseph,

Pick up their 10K (annual report). See how much of that money is sent to the government in taxes, how much is return on capital invested, how much is paid in costs to bring that oil to market. What the hell do you do for your paycheck other than whining what the oil companies are making?

  • more like "Every penny and more went into the pockets of share holders and investment houses." This is one of the most sanctimonious PR schemes I have ever scene.

  • "Every penny and more went into bringing energy into the world" YEA SUUUUUUUURRRREEEEE!!!!!!

  • Does Chevron think we're stupid?

Yes! I agree! Chevron thinks we're stupid! dot org

  • Chevron is only about greedy shareholders. Check Ecuador.

  • Now corporations are thinking about society ? Damn. First destroy the environment by exploiting it and polluting it and then spend peanuts to get brownie points and improve reputation. Great idea..

  • When you outsource US jobs to South America, I DO NOT AGREE! For this reason, I never fuel up at Chevron.

  • They do search for alternatives. But how do you suggest they use it all and leave oil behind until an alternative is found. They must search for new oil with their profits to keep the world running.

  • The oil companies are a bunch of crooks. The get Billions in subsidies and they either lay off or allow job attrition. They are providing fewer jobs but they are making even more money. Now they spend billions on commercials to tell us how great they are! We need to cut them off! A pox on their house and their offspring! Parasites!

  • One more thing, Chevron received a 19 million dollar refund from the IRS last year after making $10 billion in profits in 2009. I pay more taxes than Chevron. That is unacceptable. I really can't wait for baby boomers to all die off so my generation can come in and clean things up. Our future generations will look back at propaganda from once giant oil companies in history classes and ask themselves how we let this go on for so long...and they will think we were really, REALL stupid.

  • No matter how much money big oil, coal, or gas companies spend on PR campaigns like this, I will never EVER have a positive opinion of them. I have an idea. How about the other 98 % who have been getting screwed by the wealthy for the past 30 years pay no taxes again. Energy companies will be taken over by the government. Then we will see oil profits work for we the people.

  • These spots are an affront to the intelligence of Chevron retail consumers and American taxpayers. If Chevron's intention was to inflame and provoke--- *especially* during this time of artificially-inflated retail gas $-- their ad agency did a stellar job. 97% of YouTube viewers 'dislike' this video. I might suggest the remaining 3% visit a Chevron station for a fill-up. The visit might change their minds

  • EVERY PENNY.... AND MORE???? I'm sure a significant amount was reinvested... but EVERY PENNY? No bonus payments? To anyone? It ALL went into looking for more oil? The ads need to pass the smell test and this one kind of smells "funny". (The engineer girl is quite cute, however.)

  • "Every penny and more"????

Wouldn't that mean they lost money?

  • How can you lie to the American People like this? Corporations have zero ethics. They exist to make money no matter what. They need our strict rules.

  • Why not have an accountant explain corrupt finances instead of an engineer

  • If you really wanna help, maybe you should try paying the same tax rate as the regular Americans you say you are helping.

  • they are deleting comments with curse words, chevron doesn't want us to have freedom of speech. all comments with curse words are less than 4 hours old.

  • 19 Chevron executives viewed this video

  • STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!

  • She didn't look like she believed what she was saying...

  • We're not buying it, chevron.

  • Your oligarchy will crumble soon.

  • Goddamn I wish we could all boycott these oil scumbags

  • Yeah... well I'm sure taxing you guys will help out even more.

  • BOOOOOOOO

  • Wouldn't it just be easier to tax you and eliminate bonuses of your top executives?

  • Everyone who has been disliking this flag it as spam/fraud. I don't mean this as an abuse of the youtube fagging system. That is precisely what I believe this video is spam/fraud that does not belong in our youtube community.

  • Yes, you oil companies are real saints.

  • nice try, chevron, but I think I prefer you paying taxes instead

  • @Eorlingas75 Don't copy a post from Reddit... lol.

  • For the love of god, you should still be taxed

  • "where does the profit go? every penny and more went into bringing energy to the world" i dont quite believe that, seeing as how that is the opposite of a profit. someone does think we are very stupid

  • @xcsemtex I don't think she's an actual engineer.

  • I prefer the "Making them pay a fair amount of taxes" policy.

  • nahh, your taxes sound better. go ahead and send us a check

  • Thats why i buy pump at bp stations.

  • Well, I'm never filling up at a Chevron again. And if they're the only gas station available, I'll go without.

  • "we pumped 21 billion gallons of oil... I mean... 21 billion dollars into local economies"

  • they probably spent more on the commercial than local buisness

  • LIES!

  • tax them bankrupt!

  • TAX THEM

  • The masses have spoken. Perhaps Chevron should be a little more subtle in their ad campaigns rather than simply uttering mistruths.

  • LOL @ Chevron.

  • PAY YOUR TAXES, CRIMINALS.

  • @asdf2345234 STOP RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM! Nobody breaks the law on my watch! I'm confiscating your stolen goods, now PAY YOUR FINE...or it's off to jail.

  • @asdf2345234 Your comment which worries me to be a human. They are not criminals in regards to not paying taxes. They are following the tax rules put out by the IRS and congress You want to call people/companies criminals, start looking at congress who grant them the ability to not have to pay.

  • @Dalik1000 Uh, yeah, and who was standing right next to our legislators when tax "law" was being written? The same clowns that run oil companies...and any other enormous company with billions of dollars for lobbying. Tax law for huge corporations are meant to have loopholes in them so they don't have to pay taxes. The barons and the congress want it that way. How are just a few people going to get obscenly wealthy if they have to pay their fair share?

  • PR FAIL

  • "Every penny and more went into bringing energy to the world" Yup, I'm sure the million dollar bonus used to buy a new yacht brought energy to A LOT of people.

  • Hey, Chevron, how bout you start paying your share like i do..

  • With all the billions you have made and will make in the coming years, you couldn't spend enough to get off burning fossil fuels and switch to a completely fossil fuel free automobile. I know if I had 10 billion dollars I could easily make that switch!

  • invent a generator that uses GREED FLUX to produce clean energy, and run it off of your executive/corporate department.

whats that? greed is useless as energy and only creates injustice suffering and more greed?

ok scratch the greed idea. for my new car, id like it to run on BIO FUEL, yes thats right all your execs ground up and processed into bio fuel for my car. thank you for your understanding

  • You really think we're stupid, don't you? You care about one thing: profits. You don't care about anything else. So stop with these condescending and insulting ads.

  • CHEVRON MAKES OIL OUT OF PEOPLE

    OIL IS PEOPLE

  • I am impressed that they are replying to youtube comments.

If you are reading this, Chevron guys, you must have anticipated that you were not going to be population with the youtube community though, haha.

  • How much did Chevron pay in Federal taxes last year?

  • Get rid of taxes on the rich and they'll invest that new profit in jobs! (In china that is) (no war but class war)

  • taxes have never brought about a cheaper good/service, try again youtube.

  • "WANTED: patronizing attractive actress 25-30yrs to condescend to camera. Shame not necessary."

  • Oh, a company produces jobs? Wow, I never realised that.

  • Nice try, we should still get rid of all your tax breaks though...

  • Some of that money when into actors pockets that don't mind paying $5 at the pump.

  • Every time I hear this ad on NPR, I want to vomit. Chevron is an evil company, and you'd have to be very gullible to believe what this ad says.

  • Comment removed

  • maybe i see something different but i see it as insulting from another point of view. my first thought is when the guy ask "where does that money go"... is to think obviously it goes back into the company itself and to the investors... did you invest in it? no? then tough luck. invest in the company next time. it sounded too much like. oh i didn't spend a penny on it but i want some money to because I'm entitled to it. It's a company it's supposed to exist to make a profit.

  • I think this is a good campaign. The ads are appropriate in their message and Chevron is showing the import they place on giving back...and their proactive approach to recognizing the benefits of doing so. As an ad agency owner, I can tell you that Chevron understands that it's not just about protecting and promoting their brand. It's also about how they represent their industry.

  • how many workers did you lay off to make this commercial?

  • PLEASE give me the name of this song, my dad loves it :3 thanks :)

  • @megaman01001 Hi! Glad to hear your dad loves it. We do too. :)

The track "Tazmania" featured in the current We Agree TV was composed, arranged and produced by Mark Foster at Mophonics Studios in Venice, CA. The following instruments were used and all were performed by Mark personally: Piano, Strings, Drums, Bass, Electric Guitar, Celesta, and Kalimba.

    Enjoy!

  • do you think we're stupid? you are not fooling anyone with this ad campaign. we know what chevron is. what % of your HUGE record breaking profits do you put into this kind of thing? how does it compare to what your top executives make? chevron is a filthy rich company in a filthy destructive polluting and irresponsible industry. this propaganda campaign is insulting

  • Look up: "Chevron Thinks We're Stupid" for a more realistic representation of reality...

  • check out the spoof 'Chevron is lame'. I thinks that what they really mean.

  • Woah. It's like that actor is blue screened onto a real live mechanic's station, giving the impression he's one of the hard working United States of American's opinion. Right from the heart of the good ol' USA. You know, I trust him with my car keys and my vibrator. Give it to me!

  • We pumped 23 billion dollars into small communities?

    LIES LIES LIES

    Who writes this crap anyway???

  • If you were wholeheartedly a good company you wouldn't need to put out insulting ads like this that pathetically try to make you appear as a company that cares about the human race.

  • WHAT A LIE... WHY DON'T YOU REPAIR THE MESS THAT YOU LEFT IN ECUADOR??

  • Tesoro is so awesome

  • funny or die nailed it.

  • so what will happen to chevron if oil runs out?

  • Texaco (which is owned by Chevron) is being sued by people in Ecuador for contaminating their groundwater, causing hundreds of residents to develop fatal cancers and causing other environmental damage near the Lago Agrio oilfield, where Texaco dumped oil-production waste (18.5 billion gallons into open, unlined pits) for almost 20 years. How's that for local economies?

  • I think the issue is the obfuscation on where Chevron's profits went. "Every penny and more went into bringing energy to the world." Wouldn't that money come under the heading of operating expenses, not profits? Do shareholder dividends, in and of themselves, bring energy into the world? What percentage of profits are used to "bring energy into the world"--that is, reinvested in the processes that actually generate energy?

  • INFRASTRUCTURE

Quality infrastructure is essential for a nation's economy to thrive, and for the freedom and ease of daily life. An ASP government, by reinvesting public funds back into roads, air and sea ports, utilities and other infrastructure is actually doing what it is supposed to be doing. The government has no business in trying to control and regulate every facet of people lives, and they have no business in regulating the free operation of the market.

  • oh, this commercial is deliciously exploitable

<--- brb, doing his homework on chevron

  • so you agree to take responsibility of oil pollution in ecuador and elsewhere???

    chevron: WE AGREE!!!!!!

  • Has Chevron invested in alternative fuels? or is there some sort of rule against oil/gas companies investing in hydro/electric vehicles.

  • @zarakykenpachi11 We are investing in profitable renewable and energy efficiency solutions. For example, we are the world’s largest geothermal producer and we operate one of the largest energy efficiency companies in the US (please see the Energy Sources section: Geothermal and Efficiency on our website). We are also working to develop advanced nonfood biofuels (see Energy Sources: Biofuels) that are affordable and sustainable at a scale large enough to make a difference.

  • I agree with those who say that oil companies should be investing in finding renewable energy sources, not sources like biofuel which if replaced oil would need to take up so much land and eventually degrade the soil that it would not end up being renewable. If the oil companies could only understand that if their company was the first to figure this out then they would be richer than they are now and they could lead the way of the future. I guess people are happy with what is easy.

  • @Chevron This is what i heard from this comment...'We recognize the fact that our source of income is not only non-renewable, but is also rapidly disappearing. Therefore we are trying to find a renewable source of energy that we can continue to sodomize you with so that we can secure our profit margins for years and years to come. If we happen to find a cheap renewable energy source, we will most likely bury it or refuse to acknowledge it's existence. Thanks for the billions!'

  • Chevron and several other major oil companies happen to be heavily involved in alternative energy R&D. They would be stupid not to...

"Chevron pollutes and lies"........... This is a hilariously typical statement, and doesn't even warrent a response.....

All of you need to stop blogging about how "evil" the oil companies are and go to School, get a BS, MS, PHD, and do something about it. Start being apart of the solution. Marching and holding signs is no solution....

  • Chevron and other oil companies should use their billions to find an alternative energy source where they can still make billions and help the world.

  • I agree that all cheveron management should be in jail

  • @billdc31 for.....?

  • Chevron pollutes and lies.

  • Okay great. So why are you working to suspend the implementation of the air pollution control law in California?

  • Chevron is neutral on Prop 23. We encourage voters to be informed on the issue. It’s clear the costs to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions will fall to CA consumers since other nat’l & state govts are not implementing similar policies. We’re working closely with the California Air Resources Board to develop a reasonable program that contributes to CA’s goal of reducing GHG emissions in a way that doesn’t disadvantage CA businesses, but allows its economy to grow & remain competitive.

  • @Chevron You're right, you spend over 4 million on Prop 26. Look it up.

  • @Chevron With all of those profits I think you can be the first to take a little hit in order to lead the charge into eco-friendly fuel.

  • @Chevron Yes, Chevron is neutral on the issue, they pay lobbyists to take a stance for them against the air pollution control law. But the "Chevron" commentor won't tell you that, he or she is a well paid professional with a college degree in communications or PR and does not mind telling fibs if the bonus is good enough.
