@qwertdr: Supersonic flight is always calculated in level flight, the VC10 achieved it during a dive. But you are correct that TU-144 did not only fly before Concorde, but also achieved supersonic speed before Concorde.
True but it would be cool if they still had this plane cause you could make a 10 hour flight like a 6 hour flight but what happend to make them take this plane out of buisness???
It's spelt Concorde, and it's not the first airliner to break the sound barrier. A VC-10 did it nearly 10 yeas before, and the TU-144 beat it by a few months.
