Love the music of the mods, grew up with a dad who's an absolute who nut. But I gotta say I'm more for the style and bikes of the rockers. Probably a good thing I didn't grow up in London in the mid '60s
There's a few die hard mods left,but there's more teds about AND we've gone INTERNATIONAL with teds as far away as Japan,Finland,Sweden,Norway,Holland,Germany,France, Italy,Denmark,Russia,to name but a few.I don't think mods will ever equal that!!

Mod has and always will be an international cult which has progressed and evolved throughout it's long and colourful history as obviously the whole point of mod was and is to keep moving with an eye on the future and respecting the past. Can't for the life of me think how the rockers violence and racial tendencies could ever have evolved into anything other than the negative ie hells angels criminals bullies vagrants etc etc
Hi, Yeah the girls sometimes wore the Parka as well not all though. The girls just looked cool sitting on the back and they knew it. Most of the guys had a Parka, it was a must have back then. However riding a Vespa or Lambretta in an Italian suit was the business. Keep the faith.
I would not say that a GS or SX (both being considered highly desirable) would get you £15000 on the market perhaps in another 30 years or so. That comment did make me laugh though.
@hants There has always been knives, remember the flick knife in the 50s. Maybe we have more of it these days but it comes with our modern society. Ckuck the knives and get back to a good old fanshioned fight, no killing that's wrong.

@beamenders69 only problem with so called bikers theses days such as satan slaves is they are bullies. there shouldnt be a so called standard which makes u a bike, if u ride bikes, u like bikes.....and ride them more than just sundays and sunny days i think tht makes u a bike, not lookin big and scary who hav a harley who doesnt know anythin about tht.
That guy in the black hat is royston who used to live in Maidstone and was featured in Quadrophenia quite a bit throughout the film .Great to see he is still scootering .He has had the same union jack scooter since the film was made.

trouble is with the kids of today,if mods & rockers made a come back,they would end up shooting each other & stabbing each other to death.
But saying that one of my mates was stabbed by a rocker when we were mods in the 80s outside a pub in catford.
