Oh, I actually forgot to mention this - I didn't really mind Haven's reasoning, since teenagers are naive and they do stupid things.. I probably didn't phrase that well. However, I think it would've been better if Haven went through some character development and grew up past the "mommy doesn't love me" phase. Teens do still have a lot of growing to do, and it's a conflicting age.
I agree. I didn't have a problem with the prose, but I didn't think it was amazing, but I have to agree with you. The plot was nothing special to me. Damen was like the King of Gary Stus. :|

I had looked at the evermore books, but I didn't really wanna read them cause I didn't wanna get disappointed. But, then one of my friends says she has the book, and then I borrow it cause I figure, "Hey, at least if it's bad then I didn't waste my money on it." And, it's just like you said. Throughout the entire book, I was waiting for something to happen. And when something did happen, it was towards the end of the book. And, the rest of it was just all this sappy romance crap. No offense.

I actually really liked this book. I know it's cheesy and definately flawed, but I love romance books. And about her going from a cheerleader, to a depressed weirdo, she had lost her family in car crash and she was the only one who survived. I would completely check out to. I'd isolate myself and wouldn't feel like doing anything, so I don't really think she can be faulted for that.

I think Evermore is also a ridiculous book. It's terrible... so terrible. I actually read Evermore and Blue Moon. Haven't read the other ones but... these books are terrible. House of Night, that's another book series I find brutally terrible.

I'm reading Evermore now. It's...boring...and the characters do annoy me. Miles, he's ok, just because he told off Haven when she was all like, "OMG, Drina excepts meeeeee!" and he was like "Then why are you changing yourself to be like her if she excepts you?" BURN. The gender confused Buttercup was fucking hilarious! XD I equate it to Twilight, because Bella annoys the crap out of me so much, though it's slightly better written and more original. And Evermore is a Twilight ripoff in parts.

I tried reading this book and I stopped halfway through. I loathe Damien and Ever. Their "relationship" is not even believable to me at all. Your not overreacting... AT ALL. I felt the same way, just finished the book yesterday (forcing myself to just finish it and get it over with!).
And I looked for any reviews (on this book), any, to see if they 'captured' how horrified I felt and mentally drained at having read this book. Oh, how glad I was to have found you!! I've been looking at the rest of your videos and I am so surprised how much I agree with mostly everything you say or have a opinion of.

Finally a person who hates Evermore. The was nothing but cliche on top of cliche. I dislike all the characters. Ever is a emo, whiney Mary-Sue, Damen is a boring stalking love interest, and Haven is just plain annoying and a wanna-be. The only character I liked was Miles even though he's a cliche gay guy. I hated the fact that the villain died because of her lack of love. The author is basically saying that if you don't have a boyfriend or girlfriend you have no purpose of living. *Facepalm*

I attempted to read it, and I got to about page sixteen. Seriously. You are amazing for making it so far. This book didn't even amuse me, it just made me lose faith in humanity when I realized someone thought this was good enough to be published.

It's not enough that Stephenie Liar had to rip off of LJ Smith's vampire diaries, but now Alyson Noel does it too (to both Smith & Smeyer?! In Vampire diaries Stefan saved Elena from a car crash that killed her parents, in the immortal series, Damen saves Ever from a car crash that killed her parents - and they both don't find out about it until much later

I'm reading Evermore now. It's...boring...and the characters do annoy me. Miles, he's ok, just because he told off Haven when she was all like, "OMG, Drina excepts meeeeee!" and he was like "Then why are you changing yourself to be like her if she excepts you?" BURN. The gender confused Buttercup was fucking hilarious! XD I equate it to Twilight, because Bella annoys the crap out of me so much, though it's slightly better written and more original. And Evermore is a Twilight ripoff in parts.

I think you should read Fallen. its not just plain bad like Evermore. it might just be a bit better than Twilight. Not by much but hey, whats a few dead brain cells between friends. But Fallen has potential, you should read it. oh and ignore the typos if you do.

I tried reading this book and I stopped halfway through. I loathe Damien and Ever. Their "relationship" is not even believable to me at all. The whole book was one cliche after another and this book was really horrible to me. I'm seriously thinking about doing Art and Writing in college at the same time. I feel like literature and originality is really dumbing down and dying completely. Just to please tweens and teens who love this kind of garbage that are called novels.

I read the summary on wikipedia and burst out laughing at the girl's name because its such a mary sue-ish name. The whole wikipedia article made me go "WTF? Is this seriously a best selling book?"
Now after hearing your review...I can't believe there's a book worse than Twilight... I also think I enjoy torturing my brain because now I really want to read it, just to experience the horribleness for myself.... XD

I just wondered if this bad experience encouraged you to write more. Because I remember hearing about writers like Stephen King and Octavia Butler were encouraged to write after seeing/reading something bad and realizing that if the (bad writers) can get published then how much more better could they do.

Thank you, thank you! People insulted me when I put up my (admittedly, unprofessional) Evermore flame video. Evermore is published My Immortal in every way thinkable -- to the point that the first few pages of My Immortal has a lot of similarities to Evermore. Do you remember how many times Damen was described, in session? Beautiful, smoldering, sexy, etc. And he's friends with everybody in history!

Well I never read this book and I just read the sypnonsis(sp?) on wikipedia. That's pretty weird that Ever would get all these powers right after the death of her fam. :P
And I read the author's bio, and she seems very ignorant. Another writer that mostly writes her emotions. I guess it can be ok if it's done well, but a lot of these books are really to the point of absurdity.

Uuuumm Emily was pretty much a recluse. She did not like meeting new people, she was shy to the point of rudeness.
The only reason she even published her poetry and Wuthering Heights was at her sisters' insistence.

I think you should read Walden ^-^. I think....well its a boring book but its got good messages. Another book I think you should REALLY read is The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood One of my favorite books and in my opinion should become a classic. Don't watch the movie NOT the same.

Best review of Evermore I have ever heard. That book was the crappiest thing ever brought into the world. Really. I read a lot and.. wow. There are few things I can think of that are worse than evermore. In fact, I don't even think I can think of anything worse than evermore?
When exactly did cliché become a selling point? This is the kind of novel that is ruining the publishing world! This is the standard for fiction now? No. Just no. I'm 14, I'm the target audience, and I think this is crap.
